Our favorite local place! We have not had anything on the menu that disappoints… Mac and cheese, elk burger, porky got slawed, cranberry salmon salad, cheese artichoke dip, fish and chips… all wonderful food and drinks!!! Great atmosphere!

This was our first visit to the Blue Heron Brew Pub and it was excellent. The food was excellent and the service was even better. Had the Ash Wednesday fish fry. Fish was great, the mashed potatoes and sweet potato fries, dill coleslaw were all excellent as well. I would recommend this to any, families as well.

Great craft beers brewed in-house and served by a warm and attentive staff. Location has limited parking but there is street parking and room in adjacent lots. Beer is quite good and ranges from standard to experimental but without going too off the reservation. Food is good and leans a bit to the heavy side but that is fair given the propensity towards cheese in Wisconsin. The grown up Mac and cheese is outstanding but for the sake of your waistline take some of it home! Portions are generous throughout. When it comes to a good pub experience, atmosphere and service are what really matter and here you will get both each and every time you visit. If you try one location in Marshfield, this should be one of them!

First time in Wisconsin. So basically, I had to order anything that had cheese, particularly cheese curds. I ended up ordering the meatloaf poutine with fried cheese curds. The meatloaf and gravy were fantastic, the meatloaf was well flavored and tender. The deep fried cheese curds were everything I imagined they could be and more. I now have a great poutine that other restaurants will have to live up to. This dish was enough for three people to share. I am from the Northwest, so I had to try the IPA. It was very close to a NWIPA, so I had to try a second one as well. Nice job! The atmosphere was friendly and relaxing. I was able to sit back and enjoy working for a little while. Great place to visit!

Had to travel to Marshfield and found this place on Unilocal.Sounded interesting. I was very surprised when I ordered the 2 piece fish dinner. The cole slaw was good and the chips were fine. The slice of bread that came with it must have sat out for a day since it was pretty stale. I ordered the broiled fish and the two pieces looked like a half of piece cut in half. We even asked the waitress if that was the two piece and she said yes it was that the pieces are fairly small. It would have taken 5 servings of fish to make one decent meal. It was a very disappointing meal and next time I would ask exactly what comes with your meal before ordering.

Terrible service… waited forever to get a beer. Was informed I couldn’t see a beer list bc it was wrong. I asked about a beer and the server said she couldn’t explain it but it was good… um OK… you work at a brew pub. No thanks.

Stopped in for a couple beers and lunch. Sat at the bar and got pretty good service and the porter was great! I had the Adult Mac & Cheese and it was really good and a huge portion. My coworker said his Reuben was really good as well.

Excellent food and service. I had the ravioli and my wife the western burger. We also had some pretzel log appetizers. I plan to come back and try more of the menu.

Their veggie burger was way better than I thought it would be. The server was very attentive. If I’m ever in the area again I know where to go for lunch.

Nice pub with great beers. Had their Zesty Mother Clucking burger and really enjoyed it along with wedge cut fries. Also had their 5 beer sampler. Great food and service.

For being located where it is, the food is good and I can see the appeal. However, this place wouldn’t last in larger towns. I visited with my fiancé. He had a beer(I don’t remember which one) and I had the Windbag Braggot. For somewhere that touts itself as a brewpub, we were not impressed by either. The Windbag, especially, was bland, which was sad because the description was tantalizing. We then enjoyed the duck strips. These were fantastic and melted in our mouths. They were the one redeeming quality of an otherwise«meh» meal. I had the black bean burger. The flavors were alright, mostly because of the aioli they serve it with. The burger itself was poorly made. The consistency was very dry and made the burger just about impossible to eat with the bun. I ended up eating the majority of the bun by itself, followed by scooping pieces of the burger off my plate with my fork. My fiancé had a salad, which looked great until he took his first bite. Rather than having an entire bed of spring mix, he found that his salad was a layer of spring mix over a large bed of iceberg lettuce. He was completely unimpressed and actually laughed at the penny pinching. Overall, if you’re in Marshfield, this is a fine place to eat. If you’re not in Marshfield, however, it’s not worth the drive.

Beer is fantastic, food has slipped with smaller portions and higher prices. Used to get French fries with burger, now the price went up and fries cost extra. I am hoping they bring back the larger portions and value I was acustomed to.

Had drinks and dinner here on a business trip. We had tasty locally brewed beers, along with the meatloaf and poutine(yes!!), quinoa salad and burger. The place has a great atmosphere, with plenty of locals coming in. Would go back if I am in the area.

I’m a Beer nerd and decided to trek-out to Marshfield for a new experience. I tried some of their beers at a Brewfest in Milwaukee earlier this summer so I was familiar with their product, but going to the source is always best. I tried plenty of Beers(they do a sampler where you can pick 5 for $ 6, something I would highly suggest) and they do daily $ 2.50 pint specials, so it’s a good value when it comes to the libations. For food, I got the Elk Burger with Sweet Potato fries(a $ 2 upcharge); the Burger itself was good, I asked for Medium Rare and they nailed it, do wish they had something to go with it besides LTO(and the normal cheese options, which I passed on). My main issue is with the Fries, which were just regular crinkle-cutters. For a $ 2 upcharge I was expecting something better than standard bulk-purchased Sweet Potato Fries. That said, the place has a nice atmosphere and the Bartenders were excellent at their jobs. The rest of the menu looks worthy of trying this spot again… I’ll just skip the Swèet Potato Fries next time

Stopped in here with friends a few days before their wedding. The food was«okay» — the menu had a great variety of things, but the presentation was sort of lackluster and the walleye sandwich — though decent — was kind of dwarfed by it’s huge plate and saddened by a standard ol’ bun, two pieces of lettuce, and an under-ripened tomato. The fish and chips(others got this) looked ok, but I was expecting a HUGE pub-style plate of it.(I go to the Gulf and Atlantic a few times a year, so I guess my expectations could be off.) A lot of the fried sides looked Sysco-like — bagged and unashamed to show it. Man alive. There are ways to mask the from-box-to-table look, but oh well. Here’s the GOOD: first, the fried cheese curds were DOPE! They didn’t look bagged, but rather fresh, plump, and as gooey as they get. I’d been looking forward to my first foray into fried curds in the greater Dairyland area and these curds did NOT disappoint. Get these. In fact, get three orders and call it a meal. Get some to go. Get some for yo mama. If you don’t live in town, have them ship to your house for the holidays and wow your friends. Yeah, order these. The beer. Listen, this is a brew pub. So, food is just a window-dressed accessory in many, many ways. Bump the food. Go with the beer as the sine qua non feature of Blue Heron. I had the Helles or Highwater and the Honey Blond. Both were clean, crisp, on the lightish side — yet — with enough flavor to hit the micro-brew spot. Someone else got the Loch Ness and gushed about how good it was. Tiger Eye or Eye of the Tiger or some such selection was also a hit. So, in the end: get the beer, get the curds, enjoy both. A solid 3-stars for me.

I ordered the Mother Clucker chicken burger with guacamole and it was tasty. The waffle fries were crispy and flavorful. I tried the cheese curds and they were pretty legit. I’ll definitely go again. I took a star off because their root beer was pretty terrible(flat).

Every time I come to Marshfield, I make this my Monday stop. Burgers, pasta, its all good! Pasta ala Phil is my favorite but I had to give up pasta for a while, so now I have the salads. Great! Best hit: Root beer! Nothing like it anywhere. I have not had root beer like it. Don’t miss this incredible quaint place.
