I want to like this place, but the bar staff is terrible at happy hour. If there is a group of people standing at the bar for happy hour the staff will purposely seat people in the booths near the bar. This doesn’t work well for the patrons at the bar and those being forced to eat near the crowd.

I met a friend for a «catch up» lunch today, and had a very nice afternoon. I was surprised to see that this location hasn’t gotten good reviews previously, as I’ve never had a bad experience. As always, they have a nice selection of beers, veggie and vegan options, which makes this a nice place to take just about anybody. I had the grilled veggie and brie salad, which was good. The veggies were perhaps not as flavorful as they could have been, but overall, I was not disappointed. There was a nice portion of brie, it was a large salad, and the cilantro lime vinaigrette paired well. My friend ordered a veggie burrito with sweet potato fries, which she seemed to enjoy, as it disappeared quite quickly(despite being a bit messy). Being a cold day, I ordered a hot tea, and was pleasantly surprised to be offered a variety of tea options on par with a much fancier restaurant. Our server was prompt and patient with our lack of dining progress and desire to socialize. She even automatically split our bill without complaint or pretense. Overall, I think this location as not as busy as the one on Carson, but I am a fan of the easy parking and less waiting!

Simply our favorite place to eat in Cranberry. We love the food and service. Owners are friendly and treat the customers well. Be sure to ask for Julee — she’s the best server by far. Try the ribs — the best. We enjoy the Happy Hour from 5 to 7. You can’t miss at this wonderful jewel of a grill. Wayne & Sharon.

Extremely disappointed. Came to watch a playoff game and they would not put the sound on because it was not the steelers. Will they not have sound on for Super Bowl when steelers don’t make it? Will not come back, had to go spend our money elsewhere.

The excellent service was the best thing about our experience. The food was mostly good. Nice vegetarian options are available but it was a little disappointing. The mushroom barely soup barely had any broth and was slimy which led me to believe it was the end of the pot and old. I’d rather they just tell me they were out of it. The vegetable skewers were good. The sauce for the sweet potato fries was awesome. I’ll request all sauces on the side next time. The waitress was wonderful and brought my son several different sauces to try and was very patient with him as he decided. The only thing stopping me from giving 5 stars was that it was extremely loud. Like, I couldn’t hear my son sitting right next to me in a booth loud. And it was karaōke. SO lit was super loud with people singing badly. Just not my thing.

Some of the worst food I’ve had in the cranberry area. Everything was terrible. We went for the ‘vegetarian and vegan’ options and the waitstaff has no idea what’s in anything and had to go to ask someone 3 different times. None of the 4 dinners we ate were good. This place is a joke and a huge waste of money.

I keep trying this place hoping it will be better and it never is. The menu makes everything sound so delicious. But every time I always end up with a subpar meal and questionable service. *sigh*

Just had a wonderful lunch at Double Wide and I was able to use my free lunch coupon. That’s right… they have a Lunch Club at Double Wide. If you eat lunch here five times, the sixth time is free. Make sure you get you Lunch Club Card stamped after every lunch and the sixth lunch is free. They have an excellent menu and I love the way it is decorated. The food is great with plenty of free parking. Oh…BTW…Santa will be there on Dec 13.

BBQ plater was on point! Ribs was my favorite. Pulled pork burger was huge and so good. I also got Rice balls which is famous appetizer here and side dish of rice-very different than other places. Very Nice servers… The atmosphere was great.

I was confused by the low ratings for this location of the Double Wide. We had amazing service, from the moment we were warmly greeted at the door to when our food quickly arrived. Our waitress was attentive and friendly, we got lots of smiles and attentive care. We were dazzled by the options for Vegan and Vegetarian, which is surprising for a BBQ joint. The food was delicious, creative and prepared fresh. I love the ambiance and the playful décor. For example there is a kids area that is a trailer built out of the side of the restaurant. We ordered the TV dinners, they give you the best opportunity to customize your meal. I ordered mine with cheese grits, which were outstanding… gourmet grits with a deliciously sharp cheddar melted on top. We ended up asking the waitress why there were some poor reviews, and she said there is new and better management and that things had improved in the past year. I encourage you to give this location a try, I think you will be as impressed by the food and service as we were.

Being a vegetarian, having a restaurant to frequent that has choices other than salads, pasta, and french fries, is breath of fresh air! My family and I visit Double Wide often. Every time we’ve been there, we’ve had wonderful service! Sometimes the food takes a few extra moments to come out, but it’s so delicious that it’s worth it. My favorite dish is the vegetarian stroganoff! The seitan«wings» are awesome, too!

Amazing vegan food in Pittsburgh! At a barbecue joint! I was in utter shock and disbelief, so much so that I ignored the results of my Unilocal search when it recommended a barbecue grill as having good vegan options(usually that means a plain baked potato). I was AMAZED by the 2 pages of vegetarian options. I went with the meatless stroganoff, the«best vegan dish in the burgh,» and was not disappointed. This is somewhere I could bring my meat-loving dad and the whole family would be happy!

On 9⁄2515 I brought my daughter. She has several uncommon allergies to common foods. Our server Joy thought about My daughter’s allergies and specifically warned us about ingredients. She made suggestions based on kitchen processes so we could avoid cross contamination. It meant we could both enjoy dinner. I have been back several times, the service and the food are both excellent.

Very poor service, and the food while good took forever to come out(40+ minutes for pancakes and one scrambled egg). Likely won’t go back anytime soon.

Fantastic vegetarian and meat-ful food! We were pleasantly surprised by Double Wide on our way up north to go camping with a vegetarian friend. *None* of the food disappoints. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, which is nice depending on the weather.

This was a fun place to go for lunch! The décor was an eclectic bunch of car parts or related items. It has a huge bar with lots of stools. Our waitress was very sweet, and tried to make it an enjoyable experience. There was a fairly wide selection of beer, hailing from far and near. I got a chicken burrito which was pretty typical, and quite large. The show-stopper was the sweet potato fries and dipping sauce. They were just the right amount of crispy, salty, and sweet! We got red velvet cake for dessert. While it didn’t appear to be homemade, it was enjoyable enough. All in all, I would definitely go back!

Great food! You can go with your vegan and vegetarian friends and still have your meat. Kid friendly with a huge kid selection. Ordered Avocado BLT with pork n bean soup, excellent! Great waiter named Addison, he was the best!

My husband and I had been trying to get into this place since it opened, and every time we went the line was out the door. We finally decided to try again on a Sunday afternoon. Perfect — no wait. Since we hadn’t been there before we took a little extra time to look over the menu. However, we didn’t need the 20 minutes the waiter ended up giving us because of «issues» he had with another table’s order. The food also took quite some time to come to the table. When it did, it went to another table first. The waitress told that table she didn’t know where she was going, and scooted off to the back before we had the chance to flag her down, then came to us a minute or two later. I ordered the Salmon Avocado BLT, fries and a side of the Onion Gravy. The sandwich was so poorly put together that as soon as I picked up each half, I had to put it back together so I could even eat it. It was alright, nothing amazing. The Onion Gravy, we both thought, was certainly nothing special. It was thick and lumpy and over-seasoned. The fries weren’t bad — fresh cut, seasoned. The seasoning brought back memories of Dingbats fries. My husband got the Shroom N Swiss Burger. His patty was half off the bun, and he said he couldn’t really taste the mushrooms at all, despite there being a semi-decent amount on the burger. Our waiter was MIA the whole time we ate. Never came back to ask how everything was or to refill our drinks. The bartender actually saw that my husband needed a refill and ended up coming over to get it for him. It comes time to pay, we get our receipt and our waiter told us he was going to bring drinks to another table and he’d be right back. I assume that other table was at the South Side location because that took another 10 – 15 minutes. When he did come back he apologized for the wait and once again said there were some«issues» and he didn’t know what was going on. We were in there for almost 2 hours, which to me is an awfully long time for two people who just ordered a sandwich and a burger. Needless to say, we won’t be going back.

Ok so no matter which doublewide I go to I always order the same thing I get a California salad and seitan wings with honey garlic and a side of tearjerker. Let me just say that the California salad has been going downhill for years. I think that if they would just use a more expensive salad mix it would be much better but they use generic head lettuce mix that you can get from any grocery store. The toppings on the salad are good but the lettuce is always watery so it makes it kind of gross. However I keep ordering it so what does that say about me? Maybe it’s just that there’s not a better salad on the menu. I tried the brie salad once and it was a really bad. :( The seitan wings however are amazing! For someone who doesn’t actually eat meat they are the closest thing to chicken wings I have found in my 16 years of vegetarianism. Okay so here is what’s different between the cranberry double wide and the Southside double wide. The cranberry doublewide has really really really good service. They are nice, they are friendly, they come and check on you, and they are not under staffed. If this doublewide wasn’t so far out of my way I would go there all the time.

Tonight was my first visit here. It was nice of my mom and sis to go out of their way and take me to a local spot that accommodates vegetarians and vegans alike. They have a large menu with lots to choose from. 2 pages of vegetarian and vegan options like burgers, sandwiches, salads and more. I had the«Tv dinner» which features 2 entrée/“meats” and 3 sides+ cornbread(non-vegan) I had the bbq pulled seitan, and the coconut tofu as the entrees and the red rice, the garlic and vinegar coleslaw and the white bean mash as the sides. I also ordered a side of the vegan gravy to go on the mash and race. BBQ pulled seitan was delicious. Very flavorful. The coconut crusted tofu was ok, but the sauce was a little syrupy sweet. The coleslaw and the cornbread were great. Rice and gravy I thought were a little too peppery. Mashed beans were so so. My sister had the bacon, onion burger and my mom had a steak. They both liked their meals. All and all, portion sizes were good. Definitely on the generous side. I could probably have made 2 meals out of my meal on another day. My sister took ½ her burger home. Pros: –portion size –variety in the menu-vegan, vegetarian, gluten free options –variety of beers and drinks –cool décor Cons: –Noise, near the bar area –Waiting time, we had a 20 min wait of a Friday night, lesser wait time to sit at bar tops –Spicy flavors, I was ok with this but my mom was not a fan of the dishes with peppers, mushrooms in them. I would definitely visit again.
