I have had massages at a lot of places and I love the Spa the best so far! The masseuse was very nice and relaxing, her name was Angela I believe. Although she normally concentrated on the back and neck(which is amazing!) I asked her to massage my legs as well and she fully obliged to the change. The only reason why I give four instead of five is because there is no front desk area to pay or to sign in, just a corner with a little desk so it was a little cramped. However, I highly recommend The Spa: clean, comfortable, very nice staff, and decent prices, oh and very relaxing :)

My boyfriend got me a gift certificate for the Royal Treatment which included a spa mani/pedi, 1 hour massage and a spa facial. I loved my mani/pedi. Stacy is such an easy person to get along with and talk to that you feel like you’ve gotten more out of the deal than just having your nails done. She is great at what she does and is so knowledgeable about her craft that she can answer any question you have(if you are curious about those things like I am). I highly recommend her and The Spa’s Mani/Pedi services. I had never had a professional massage before my massage at The Spa. I had envisioned a nice quiet atmosphere with low lighting, soft music and a relaxing massage session. I don’t know if my expectations were wrong, but although I did get the low lighting and soft music, I also got a masseur who was very chatty and kept asking questions and wanting to make conversation. That’s what I expect from my hair stylist or manicurist, but not from a masseur. Am I wrong? I have to say that I don’t think the massage lived up to my expectations, even though I had never had a professional one before. I don’t know if it’s because of the talking that threw me off so I couldn’t really relax and enjoy the massage or if it’s possibly because the masseur was inexperienced or what. I can say that I feel bad that my boyfriend paid a good price for something I wasn’t completely satisfied with. I had the facial done by the same woman who did my massage. I have had one other facial done at a cosmetology school, and I loved it, so I was expecting something along the same lines. Again, however, I was disappointed. All that it consisted of was an application of a lavender honey concoction that was left on for a couple moments and then dabbed off, then an application of a rosewater toner and then a sugar scrub on my arms. Although the smell of the lavender honey and rosewater applications were beautiful, I thought I would be getting more of a cleansing treatment that involved an exfoliation and a facial massage. Again. Somewhat disappointing that my boyfriend paid good money for something I wasn’t completely satisfied with. If it weren’t for Stacy and her amazing skills and personality, I would not be giving The Spa of Marquette even three stars. I would have liked to give it more because I do think Stacy is a huge asset to this business, but for how much they charge for their services and how unsatisfied I was with the two more expensive treatments, I can only give three stars. I might be willing to try again with the massage and facial but I would definitely request a different person.
