I used to like Marquette Meats and I enjoyed going in there and found the staff to be knowledgeable and friendly. I have to agree with similar reviews that I have recently experienced an employee who is not great at customer service. I recently made a custom order and when I went to pick it up, not only were they out of several items I ordered(what is the point then of ordering a week in advance?) the lady argued with me about what time I was supposed to pick it up(not that it mattered because when I came back she still got the order wrong.) That is unfortunate as I thought their meat bundles were a good deal and I have traditionally ordered a lot of special and expensive Holiday items from Marquette Meats. The good news is when I called Northern Meats in Ishpeming, the owner couldn’t have been friendlier in answering my questions regarding special Holiday orders. It is certainly worth the drive to Northern Meats.

I really want to like this place, but honestly, the customer service is what kills it. Out of the last three times I have gone, each time I have left upset due to interactions with the staff. I’ve been ignored for several minutes by a certain employee multiple times upon entering the store(whom is only just hanging out in the back watching a computer or tv), and then seems very annoyed and inconvenienced by helping me. This last time, I ordered some meat in advance for a grill-out I was having. Went in for pickup, and was rudely told I was supposed to show up the day I ordered it. And with no apology, told that it’s ‘only human error’ that my order was taken incorrectly ‘so I can’t be too upset’??? Not worth supporting to be treated poorly. If Marquette had another meat store I would have stopped coming here a long time ago.
