My girlfriend bought us a cooking class here for Christmas. Like a previous poster pointed it, it is definitely more of a cooking demonstration. Very mundane chopping of various veggies, and then you stand around and wait. You wait while 1 – 3 of the entire group doing various cooking on the stove top. The instructor did her best to fill the time with her stories and what not as well. For $ 80 per person this is definitely NOT worth it ATALL. When everything is made you’re given a very small plate of the things that were made, and then a dessert. We expected to be making our own full sized dishes and eating a normal sized dinner. We did not get that at all. I more than likely will never attend a cooking class here again, and would highly advise against it to anyone who may be interested. Very expensive for very little. I gave it 2 stars because it was something different for a date night, and my g/f and I enjoyed ourselves up until we realized it was absolutely nothing that we expected. We left very hungry and got dinner elsewhere.

Paid full price for a cooking class here and it was definitely overpriced for the experience I got out of it. I took the class thinking this is a class for beginners but I recommend the class for those who are more advanced because the class doesn’t teach you step by step instructions. When you first arrive, you are offered refreshments before the class begins. Class started promptly and then you start«prepping the food.» By prepping, I mean you get to chop up for example, a few veggies. Then the chef takes it away from you and they already have the rest of the ingredients prepared(ie, the rest of the chopped up veggies). Then the chef jumps to the main course before finishing up «teaching» how to cook the rest of the appetizer dish because the main dish takes longer. After getting a few tips on preparing the main dish, the chef goes back to finish prepping the appetizer dish. Then while we wait for the main dish to cook, we go straight to the dessert menu and again, you only do a little hands-on prepping because the rest of the stuff is already done by the chef. As you can see, the class is very disorganized and you jump between courses before finishing prepping for that course which is why it is hard for beginners to learn. I would probably take the class again if it was half off but for the full price class, it is very overpriced.

My husband and I went to the couples cooking class over the weekend. Not only did we hardly get any food, but we didn’t prepare or cook any of it. We were told by many people that when we go in there will be ingredients at each station, there were not; That we would be able to prepare each part of the menu, which we did not. The only thing we got to do was pulse a food processor and pluck basil leaves of the stems. For the price we paid, this was absolutely ridiculous. Instead of this being a date night away from the children, it turned into a complaining fest the whole way home about the money we just spent on basically nothing. I love to cook and this whole experience was very underwhelming.

The store has a great selection of kitchen gear and gadgets. I love the selection and array of kitchen tools. But their employees would drive a saint to sin. They just won’t let you shop without annoying you with a battery of questions and Lord help you if you want to buy something without giving your name, email address and phone number. No one should be forced to provide their personal information especially in this age of privacy invasion and data mining. Stick with Bed, Bath and Beyond. Much nicer sales people without the NSA style data acquisition.

The store is adorable and had drool-worthy kitchen accoutrements. That being said, I have never bought anything here as we have pretty much everything we need unless I had a spare 3 grand lying around for an espresso maker. However, years ago, I made an online splurge purchase of a set of Wusthof knives. Good knives that are used often require sharpening. They do an awesome and relatively fast job as we are usually able to get them done the same day. However the shopping plaza they are in has plenty of places to shop around or restaurants to eat at while waiting. Even after only a year, the knives cut so much better now that they are sharpened.

Great place to go for all your culinary needs. What makes it great is not only the wide selection of cookware and gadgets, it’s the knowledgeable and friendly staff that really makes shopping here a blast. We’ve purchased several things here, from Le Creuset cookware to our Breville coffee maker. It’s great that they stand behind their product offerings too. When we purchased the coffee maker, I was told that if I ever had a problem, I could simply bring it back for a replacement at ANYTIME, even beyond the warranty. Note that I’m grandfathered in with this purchase though, as they have since changed this policy to one year only from date of purchase as I found out from the staff that there were some who were abusing this and taking advantage of it… Not cool, so it’s understandable they changed the policy. They also offer GREAT cooking classes! My wife and I have been to several and we’ve enjoyed them all! This place isn’t for deal seekers, but if you’re looking for great help and high quality cookware that’ll last you a lifetime, this is the place.

Great store to find just about any kind of cooking gadget one can think of. Prices are a little higher than Bed Bath and Beyond, but the product quality is significantly better and the sale staff is quite knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. I always find something useful and/or fun to buy here for the kitchen.
