Markleeville Artist Autumn Open Studio Tour

In October there is an event in Markleeville that highlights local artists. While I appreciated the attention given to the artists, the event is not well organized. A map is available on the Web site, but we discovered one artist with a location that was difficult to find (near a fish sign on the highway). When we arrived at that location, a man came out and announced that this artist was out of town. It seemed strange that the artist didn’t even show up for the event. A lot of the art will be based on the subjectivity of taste, but I felt that other events, like the Candy Dance, had a wider variety of offerings.
