Stayed at this hotel last night. Husband made reservation online and after reading reviews here, I was apprehensive. I have to tell you, these must be a few isolated experiences. The hotel is an inexpensive option in the middle of Ohio — not the Four Seasons downtown Chicago! The check in was prompt at courteous at 2 am. The halls and room were freshly painted. The room was clean and the furnishings quite new. The bed was a very comfortable with an extra thick mattress. We did get to breakfast in the late am and the eggs were gone, but the coffee was good and the hard boiled eggs, English muffin and yogurt I had were acceptable fair. My daughter loved the pancake machine. I would say this hotel provides fine accommodations for a good value in a rather remote location. Enjoy your stay!

Nice staff but the hotel was on the dirty side … they just remodeled so it’s kinda sad … also the coffee was just dirty water … and the staff threw away my sealed bottles of water

In July we stayed at The Best Western for NSA softball tournament. Upon checking in we explained that we may only be here until Saturday morning if we lost our games. We were informed that as long as we let them know by 6:00 pm the previous evening there would be no problem and we could check out Saturday morning at 11:00am. Upon entering the hotel Friday around 4:00 pm, we found the manager Shelly arguing with a group of parents from another team that they would have to pay full price even though they were letting her know 24 hours in advance that they were checking out the next day at 11:00(checkout time). It was very tense so I left the lobby and went back around 6:00 to inform the staff we would be leaving at 11:00 and not be staying another night. I was told by a visibly distraught employee that we would need to pay for ½ night. When I questioned her further she threw her hands in the air and said«I don’t know what is going on, talk to Shelly». In the morning, my husband was told we would have to pay, even though we had informed them of our departure as stated. Our business was not appreciated and I will never stay at another Best Western again. What a shame!

I knew going into this hotel that I wasn’t going to receive 5 star service, which doesn’t bother me considering this was a vacation and I wasn’t planning on being in my hotel much. However, let me start with my check in, computers down they insisted on holding my credit card until the computer was up, i left it with them at them front desk, no fraud but made me very uncomfortable. The room they gave my boyfriend and myself was the very last room on the bottom floor, whatever no problem, until I realized they put us by the exit door, in which you must slide your key in to enter from that entrance of the hotel, in which it make the most loud and obnoxious buzzing noise. I had to hear this everyday at least 15 times, even so while I was trying to sleep. This noise made it seem like I had a buzzing alarm clock that went off about every half hour. Whatever I thought all things put aside I’ll survive. However our hotel room was so far from the front desk that when we tried to access their free Wi-Fi for our computer, it only worked literally 10% of the time we tried. We would have internet access for a half hour spotting here and there and then have none at all. Complimentary breakfast was the usual cereal, doughnuts, biscuits and gravy, waffles, bagels, toast and juice. doesn’t sound to horrible until you discover the cereal is really stale, the biscuits are rock hard, and there were only 15 doughnuts up for grabs and half the time they were out of orange juice and then your fruit punch was colored water, also on about 4 days of our 8 day stay there was no food at all(surprise). We opted to purchase breakfast the last few days of our stay. So much for saving money on food expenses during your vacation. one thing I forgot to mention about our check in is I personally made these reservation 4 months in advance and requested a mini fridge, so we could make our lunches, well we didn’t get along with at least 5 other guests I spoke with who requested them. So don’t count on that, we just purchase a cooler. Our bad experiences outweighed our good ones, but there were few about this motel. There was a clean pool and hot tub, however the hot tub jets were broken, there was a working A/C in our room which made life much easier when it was 90 degrees with 88% humidity, there is a really affordable good quality grocery store directly behind the motel, you’re in the heart of Marion, OH and housekeeping was very friendly. All in all the price of the hotel was great but hospitality was absolutely atrocious.
