Freebirds is a hipsters Chipotle, with more options, more flavor, and less wait. You definitely have to try it if you love your American burritos.

I have been a fan of Freebirds for quite awhile now but tonight I was blown away by not only the burrito but Jamie’s customer service. Jamie went above and beyond by making me flour tortilla chips after learning about my craving for chips and guac. but having a corn allergy. Jamie’s awesome customer service skills and her hair add wonderful, feel good color and vibes to Freebirds.

My Experience at Freebirds: A Friendly Adventure in hybridology. The adventure began with two flour tortillas. The first, lathered in Spanish rice, refried beans, and carnitas. It was then topped off with lettuce, mixed cheeses, and the additional cost of guacamole. The second burrito was LIKE a chicken burrito. They were both hybrid sized, and this size was filling enough for dinner. The aesthetic ambiance was a pure ten out of ten. Lady liberty was riding a chopper with a monster burrito in hand, crashing through the drywall. On the other wall was a portrait of two large men riding one motorcyle, a true sight to be seen. However, the procurer of the second burrito felt stomach issues. Whatever the cause of the issue, the taste was still delicious! Also, the service was easy, breezy, and beautiful even with a full restaurant!

Cool fast spot for some food. Hybrid Chicken Burrito with guacamole! very good! Ordered a hybrid burrito, guy helping me out at first was real cool, we were having an ongoing conversation as he’s helping me with my burrito. Then some lady comes in and replaces him and she continues with my order. So once I go pay the girl rings me up for a freebird size burrito, I told her nicely I ordered a Hybrid burrito and right away she gave me attitude saying«Well you have to let them know» and I said i did… That’s usually the first thing you say when you order, the size of the burrito… so then she tells me «look they wrote FCB on the bag» I’m like ok? what does that mean? she says«Freebird Chicken Burrito» so I’m like okay I don’t work here so I wouldn’t know… Happened in between 2:05 — 2:20 pm yesterday December 17th. Just so if the manager wants to know. Even my friend that was with me told the cashier that he heard me order a Hybrid sized burrito. I just think she could’ve handled this little situation way better. Cheer up!

I love this spot! The food is incredible, the service is fast, and the vibe is always great. While Keisha is my favorite burrito maker(burrista?), all the staff are really friendly and on point :)

I absolutely love Freebirds !!! I enjoy the quality and flavor of the food, the ambience, and the customer service. I’m constantly raving about it and bringing friends here as it is. Today I am leaving a rave review for impeccable service from Wilber. We were having a toy & clothing giveaway at our church and planned on having our lunch made in house. Plans changed and we had to feed 15 people ASAP. This normally requires calling a day in advance/minimum 2 hours in advance. Wilber took our call during the lunch rush while being slightly short staffed. He was so helpful and got our food ready within the hour despite the rush. I could of made this a short review. But we were so grateful, blessed, blown away, etc. Thanks again Wilber. This makes me appreciate Freebirds even more.

I might as well have ordered from a wall. No personality to the atmosphere. Uninterested employees. Burrito was pretty good & well mixed which saved me from giving this place one star.

I don’t eat burritos and don’t even like Chipotle, but I do like freebirds, because I like their fresh tacos. I also love variety of toppings you can add to the food! The establishment is has a nice roomy setup, and I love the house of bluesy ambiance of the place as well as the staff who are warm, friendly and considerate.

You know, when I first tried this place out when it opened in 2012(?), I was let down. It was partially my fault I came to realize. Too much customization and not enough hand holding let me down. I clearly do not remember a cold stone-esque signature burrito lineup more than three years ago. That helped give me a base camp as it were to avoid the previous altitude sickness. I went with the spicy chicken burrito thing, and goddamn it was delicious. I avoided the fondue cheese and substituted for shredded Monterrey(see they even have two different cheese blends it’s that opulent). And I kept thinking while eating, «goddamn this so much better than my memory recollects.» After leaving this momentary Shangri-La, as I descended back to sea level, it struck me: «whoa that was expensive for a burrito.» $ 13 and change for a burrito with guac and a drink. This is not fast-casual terrain, but sit-down-lite, e.g. pitfire pizza. And the ingredient quality at a sit-down-lite is on another tier. Okay, so I’m comparing burritos to pizzas. But in that case, I can find a deliciously comparable fast-casual burrito at plancha tacos now in Venice that gives me the same comfort of nirvana — WITHTORTILLACHIPSAHEM — without having me second-guessing«why didn’t I just go to a happy hour? At least I’d have non-disposable silverware.» Which I said out loud to the security guard outside who merely looked at me concerned with my well-being. «I mean, I did get there at 6:30pm.» He shrugged. The main draw here is the overwhelming combinations which they celebrate on the walls but, being the classically self-rationally interested economic actor that I am, which I value less than the 3 bucks and coin I can pocket and let compound at 1.2% per annum on a good day. Oh who am I kidding? Where’s that two buck chuck?

I wanted to love them, I really did but my gawd they are the slowest moving restaurant in existence. I love the concept of a higher scale Chipotle, but someone needed to work for Chipotle to figure out how they can get through a line of people. Everytime I go, there are only 2 people working behind the counter, then maybe a couple other people walking around. No one seems like they’re in hurry despite the line where people are waiting a minimum of 20 mins. They may or may not be running out of food(especially in the evening, although no where near closing time) — waiting 20 minutes to get to the front of the line, realizing they’ve run out of what you wanted and then waiting another 8 mins for queso isnt cool. The food is great, dont get me wrong. I’d go there all the time, if I didnt care about standing around an ungodly amount of time.

I am a true fan of this place so I’m a bit bias. But this place is like heaven to me. It’s pretty tough to convince anyone to try this place over chipotle considering chipotle is on every corner. Freebirds has a ton of variety from size of burrito, type of burrito wrap, meat, chicken dark/white and a ton of cheese and salsa. But for the most part the service is fairly quick and you can customize a burrito to your exact specification. I suggest to give it A try at least three times. Pretty sure you will be a fan by the second visit.

I went to Freebirds yesterday. The guy named Mike helped me out he was probably one of the nicest people at this location. Very friendly, great customer service, made conversation and on top of that he has a great smile. Thank you very much for making my Freebirds trip extra dope. You’re Dope!!!

Food was served lukewarm. The beans were tasteless. I had to add a lot of salt. The dark meat chicken was the only redeeming thing. It was actually fairly tasty, but as I mentioned before, it was served lukewarm. If they turn up the heat and seasonings, this place could actually be good. But I doubt I’ll ever be back again to find out. Too many other options in the area.

I have been to this location so many times it’s ridiculous … Basically you have a chipotle with much better option and a much higher quality food in a much more fun environment :)

The store manager, Bucky, and his staff are incredible, generous souls. My company was hosting a volunteer beach event with Surfrider where we helped teach a group of inner-city kids to surf. When we asked if Freebirds could help by giving us a discount Bucky and several of his employees each decided to chip in so they could donate AWESOME Freebirds burritos for free! They couldn’t have been more supportive of the need to help young people and Surfrider’s message to protect our ocean, beaches and waves. Bucky personally delivered the burritos, with chips and salsa, to the beach. I love the fresh burritos and variety of Freebirds but now I love this particular store so much more. Go and support Freebirds. They are making our community better and they make a mean burrito.

I know what your thinking… 5 stars… How is that possible? well read on and I’ll tell you. Let’s start with the ambiance, even during the lunch rush it doesn’t feel like the employees are trying to slap your food into a tortilla or bowl just get the line moving faster. The employees also engage you as a person and not with some mundane greeting that they were taught to say. The restaurant is always clean, it’s very rare that I ever see a dirty table, In fact most of the time if you are finished eating and you are sitting at the table talking or doing something on your computer an employee will come by and remove the trash from the table for you. The décor is nice, motorcycle coming through the wall, wooden tables with designs on them, has an up beat vibe. As for the food, very tasty. They have burritos, tacos, nachos, quesadillas and salads, you can also make any burrito a bowl. You start by picking one of three(actually four) sizes of burritos, that’s usually what I order. The sizes are hybrid(small) freebird(medium) monster(large) and if you know about it they have a super monster which I am sure you can determine what size that is. Once you pick the size of the burrito you then choose what kind of tortilla you want, you have four choices to choose from flour, wheat, spinach and cayenne. I like cayenne myself. You then have your choice of ingredients and when I say choice I mean«CHOICE» there is Spanish or cilantro lime rice, black, pinto and refined beans, steak, chicken or carnitas. You can add vegetables, bacon and any other side you can think of that would be on a burrito. The best part is you can do half and half, half black beans, half pinto, half white meat chicken half dark mean chicken. You are really not locked in to any one type. You came make any meal ago no with chips, dipping sauce of your choice(they change them up so ask which ones they have) and a drink. The tacos are awesome because you can stack them with anything you want as well. Same with the quesadillas, they are not just meat and cheese though you could have it that way if you wish. Recently freebirds has switched over to coca-cola products and I know that makes some folks happy. Now the plus, pick up one of their fanatics cards, every time you make a purchase you get points, ten points gets you a free freebirds size burrito, 20 will get you a monster size of apparel. I recently used my points for a lady that was asking for money from me, I offered her the card to use for the free meal which she accepted and am returned my card to me. It’s always a good time at freebirds!

of course i’m comparing to chipotle. who wouldn’t? freebird’s beef is by far way tastier than chipotle’s. but their chicken isn’t so hot i love the variety of mix ins you have for your burrito/bowl/whatever you get. and the option of getting a different sized burrito is great!!! their guac, not so good. i had like 3 pieces of avocado skin all up in my guac. no bueno. but queso!!! its so good until it gets all cld and hard. hah. eat it while its hot. by the way, i’m so glad you guys use bigger cups for your queso, guac, and salsa. it was such a rip off before in those tiny little cups. now i have enough queso for all my chips!

This location is under terrible management. The meat is never freshly grilled, even around lunch and dinner time. The Manager hides in the side office and only comes out to bark orders at the ONLY staff member that seems to be doing their job. Meanwhile, the guy in the back grilling the meat must not have a clue what time it is bc they never have freshly grilled meats at meal time.

This place rocked my socks right off! I was local, never heard of the place and Unilocaled surrounding restaurants. I’m sold. Lots of options, healthy options! Grass feed steak. Yes please! My burrito was amaze balls! It has been a while since I can say I truly enjoyed a meal from a chain resturant. Free Birds is a game changer. I will definitely be back. Make sure to get a loyalty rewards card too. Mmmm. Free burritos.
