Had some lunch there not long ago… it was pretty good. The subs are great! But heard an employee named Johnny I think, get into an argument with a lady… kinda turned me off of the place. Might give them another try down the road. 4 stars for the food 1 star for making the diners uncomfortable.

Just ate for the first time at Hoboken Café. It is AWESOME! Can’t wait to bring my family. Johnny Pizza was super nice and the meatball sub was the best sandwich I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to come back. I may surprise my wife this weekend with an order of the meatballs. Wow!

My first visit was a mistake. I was looking for a great place for a pastrami sandwich, and read about one nearby with a similar name. I walked in the door, saw the menu(no pastrami to be had) and saw the sausage and peppers instead. I was like, «that’ll work» and ordered. It was delicious, and authentic. I’ve been down south for most of my life, but I never forgot the taste of Italian sandwich shops from the old neighborhood. This has it. My sub was delicious, and I ordered it two weekends in a row. Then I decided to try their other offerings, and they’ve all been wonderful. My 9-year-old son always gets the hot dog sub with peppers and onions. He says it’s the best hot dog he’s ever had(I’ve tried it, and I agree).

This place had a number of good reviews. So we decided to try it the next time we were west of Marietta. At one o’clock on a rainy day we go into a nearly empty restaurant. The owner is behind the counter and we introduce ourselves and ask what’s good today since it was our first time in. He was not interested in any conversation about his food. He just said«everybody likes the meatball sub». We settle in with a couple of sandwiches and a bowl of soup. Sandwiches don’t even come with chips. Anyway to make a disappointing lunch worse the owner goes over to two of the four tables that were occupied and offers them a free cannoli ignoring us and one other. It’s not like we couldn’t hear every word he said! Anyway the food was only fair. Not worthy of a return visit from us. Service x#$?@!!! Think about it Mr Boss.

Fresh, homemade mozzarella-yum yum to Elsie’s tum tum. Boyfriend loves the chicken parm. We go to Hoboken regularly when his parents are in town. Elsie doesn’t like to spend much time with the parents but for fresh mozzarella, she makes an exception.

I may have just eaten the best meatball sub I ever had. Fresh and tender, spiced right with just enough acidity in the marinara on a fine loaf of bread. The meatballs were a special previously reserved for Wednesday now available all the time. This was my second visit to Hoboken Café and they have not failed to please. Oh yea, don’t forget to give the cheese cake and cannoli a try, oh WOW. Johnny Pizza and his boys seem to have a real passion for what they are doing and it shows. The food and atmosphere(particularity the the Sinatra playing in the background) can’t help but put a smile on your face. Drop by late in the day and Johnny might be subject to be belting out a little duet with Frank.

Our first trip to Hoboken and for a Jersey Boy it was like going back home. The food was hot the bread was fresh and all the traditional Italian flavor was there. Everyone was right the sausage peppers and onions was excellent– if you like it spicy ask for red cherry peppers. The family atmosphere really puts this place over the top

Very friendly staff great veggie caprese sandwich. The bread was a little tough for me but I love super soft bread :) I can’t wait to go back.

Fuhgetaboutit! How iconic! My son and I are driving back from Atlanta after seeing Springsteen and we make a wrong turn and find this oasis! Owner rocks! Food is excellent! And I ran into someone from Trenton, my hometown! Next time we’re down here — stopping again!

My husband and I visited the Hoboken Café from Tampa which has many NJ&NY restaurants. The Hoboken tops all the places in our neck of the woods, and there are plenty of authentic NY style restaurants in Tampa. We were treated to the most delicious and fresh food you can find anywhere. I’m visiting again in Aug, we will definitely find time to eat at the Hoboken Café.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. Johnny treats you like family from the moment you walk in the door. He brings a really soulful ethic to the entire enterprise. This shows in the amount of care and attention to flavor he’s determined to bring his customers. Johnny welcomed one of my alumni groups for a small, private affair. He told us his history, brought a little bit of the real Hoboken, New Jersey to the table, and tied that in with the immigrant traditions(Naples) that influence the foods he grew up on – the foods he lovingly serves to his customers – the same sandwich recipes the Neapolitan tradition has served up in Jersey for the past 100+ years. Johnny(and Roger) started with a table-side presentation: taking fresh mozzarella curds and going through the process of turning them into fresh mozzarella cheese loaves. The process is tantalizingly cool. Never before in my life did I want to just pick up a hunk of mozzarella and just tear into it. The commitment to freshness and flavor is paramount. Johnny says they special order their bread, import fresh sausage from Jersey, and the mozzarella is prepared fresh, INSTORE, every day. The food we sampled that day was outstanding. Starting with a Caprese Salad(with that fresh mozz). This dish was an exercise in delicious simplicity. A fresh tomato, drizzled with some excellent balsamic and some olive oil & herbs. I’ve never been into the caprese thing. But I was into THIS Caprese thing. Then came a small sampler plate with one excellent meatball, one delicious piece of chicken parm, and some perfectly presented penne with gravy.(Gravy is «sauce,» btw.) That meatball was a crowd pleaser. And I can see why the Chicken Parm sandwich is a best seller. Finally, Johnny served us each a freshly made cannoli. This was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. The whole meal was fantastic. There are the occasional specials that Johnny enthusiastically makes.(Like pasta dishes.) And I suppose some of you will be happy that there are a few salads on the menu, but the mainstay here is sandwiches. Cold and hot sandwiches. Things like a «Hoboken Hero»(Ham, Salami, Provolone, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Oil and Vinegar). And the Sausage, Peppers & Onions W/Provolone sandwich. Don’t forget to save room for a cannoli, or a piece of cheesecake. As of this writing, Hoboken Café closes at 4pm. Holler if you want some company.

I love everything I’ve eaten here and I’m not just saying that because I’m a biased New Jersey girl and it reminds me of home. If I wasn’t from New Jersey, I’d still go here. I do kind of secretly not want to leave because it’s so cozy and everyone is so friendly and happy … Maybe I need a trip back to Jersey … I might be a little too nostalgic. But in the meantime, this place is the next best thing. The fresh mozzarella, sausage and peppers, cannolis … So much for my waistline but totally worth it.

This place has Pizzazz!!! We decided to stop in for lunch one afternoon and I’m so glad we did… great dinning experience and«hands down» the best sandwich in Marietta! I order the chicken parmesan sandwich combo which came with chips and a beverage, my lunch date ordered the philly cheesesteak and I’m more than positive he wanted to swap out the other half of his sandwich with me, but I wasn’t having it… I was hooked. Lol. The food came out fast, and it was super hot and very fresh. The mozzarella cheese made me very happy and the marinara sauce was to die for, the bread was hot and fresh as well. The owner has a very interesting wall of famous people who has also dined at his establishment. Very Impressive list of people, we looked at the wall while waiting for our food. The service was great, very friendly group of people. I’m actually really excited about this place, I can’t wait to go back and try some of the pasta entrees.

Oh dear god! I’m in heaven. Bring from ny this is Mecca here in Marietta. I came in and around bought I was back home. The atmosphere and the friendly face was Ny/Nj all the way. Warm and inviting. Now the food. WOW! I had the traditional Hoboken favorite, the tuna and fresh in house made mozzarella hero. Perfectly seasoned bathe mozzarella melted in my mouth. The bread, from New Jersey had that crisp yet soft(only tri staters can understand this blend in a roll) texture. This hero made my heart sing! A taste of home! Open until 4. Don’t miss it. It is the promised land here in Marietta !!

Authentic New Jersey Cuisine. Really? What the hell is that? What does that mean? Hard to put my finger on that… Sure the fresh mozzarella is perfect, typically not found outside of the Tri-State area, the bread, the rolls are what you had come to expect if you stopped at your local independently owned deli(yeah, they don’t have them in the south) to pick up a meatball hero(yes, Hero — Not sandwich, not grinder, not sub, not a weck-what the heck) and you get that crusty outside and soft whit inside… its almost undefinable UNLESS you’ve lived there. so yes this place makes the grade for me who sometimes feels adrift in a sea of mediocre instant rice and canned beans. Minus one star because they don’t make pizza here.

#1 restaurant in Marietta on another rating site so we had to try. Chicken Parmesan that was delicious and had an incredible cannoli. My wife, from NJ, struck up a conversation with the owner Johnny. She said he’s the kind of guy you just want to meet and know. Awesome experience all around!

Love the food and the service. Always a good meal. Favorites…sausage and peppers, meatball sandwich, egg plant Parmesan, prosciutto and peppers with fresh mozzarella. You have to get your mozzarella from these guys, you will never buy it at the grocery again.

I’ve visited the Hoboken Café many times since they’ve opened. Each time, the staff is incredibly nice and I love the traditional vibe of the restaurant. I’ve gotten then Chicken Parmigiana a few times, but I believe the star of the menu is the Ham, Salami, and Mozzarella. It’s one of my favorite sandwiches in Marietta and my lunch of choice. Be sure to cover the sandwich in balsamic vinegar and olive oil, and grab a few napkins.

Upon entering the establishment, I was greeted warmly by the staff members there and a pleasant ambiance of a quaint yet inviting atmosphere. This place seems just perfect for a lackadaisical mood one might have on a Sunday morning. Jazz music greeted my ears with a complimenting note that went well with the delicious food that I ordered moments later. The price I can’t say is what I expected for my hot dog, but everything from the bun to the taste of the meat to the freshness of the onions and peppers on my dog made it worth it in my personal opinion, unmatched by anything I have ever tried! The coffee that I ordered was very tasty and I am willing to bet isn’t ”typical” or that you might come by regularly in restaurants around here. A silent TV accommodates a cozy lounge near the front door with bright walls bearing pictures that reflects Hoboken’s pride in its community and its company. The only slight concern I might have is hardly worth mentioning but in all fairness to readers, there was some delay in being seen at the front desk for order, though courtesy comes with a smile from the owners. I am quite sure that matters of careful cuisine preparations were being made in the back is all. Overall, I must say this place is a real treat to be at for the family or with a few friends after church or perhaps after a day out event at the Square nearby where you can just relax and talk about the good memories you made in the company of a facility that treat you like family!
