If you are wanting to spend a long weekend in the Northern Cascades, but may not have the gear or the gumption to camp, definitely check this place out. They have several cabins to rent – ranging from cool themed ones to some that desperately need an updated look. There are bunnies everywhere! They hang out on the premises, and love any left overs you may have. The best part is The Eatery, the tiny restaurant on the same property, run by 90 year old Tootsie. Tootsie still serves people, chats it up with the locals, and still bakes her famous cinnamon rolls and homemade pies. She is a legend in Skagit County. Take the time to go up there, spend the day hiking through some beautiful country, and then have a good home-cooked meal while Tootsie tells you about how her grandmother first came to open a hotel here before Washington was a state. Oh, and definitely try the blackberry pie.
