I try to stop and get a link of turkey sausage everytime I’m in Marble Falls. Get there early or call because he sells out.

That turkey sausage gets a solid three star! Omg… so good, full of flavor and spices, virtually no fat/grease.made on the premises. the brisket was tender but flavor wise just ok in my opinion. The coleslaw was different and sweet… only thing I think it was going bad or something because I got a stomach ache(so did someone else in my party that ate coleslaw).but who knows. get that turkey sausage for sure. Don’t plan on eating in there unless you want to sweat & want flies flying around your food. it’s literally a restaurant in a shack :| PS: their tap water taste worse then water hose water… think potting soil… no joke!

The only thing I’ve had here is the turkey sausage, which has to be the best in the world. We get it to go when passing through town.

We had the brisket and turkey sausage. The brisket was really very good. The turkey sausage was okay. But then again, I’ve never been a fan of turkey sausage. The owner let us go in the back to see how it’s all done. We got there around 2pm and he said that the meat was in the oven since about 6am. Next time we’re in Marble Falls, of course we’re going back!

Yummy! That’s the first word that comes to mind. Great turkey sausage and the brisket has just the right about of «bark» on it. I love the sauce, although you really don’t need it. The beans are good, but since I don’t eat slaw I can’t comment on that honestly. Don’t forget the iced sweet tea. My husband sometimes stops in, on his way through town, and brings me a cup because it’s just that good! My first time in the owner gave me a small piece of sausage to taste because I wasn’t sure if I would like turkey sausage; that was a good sign of things to come. The husband & wife team are locals and many of the patrons are locals, so it’s fun to listen to the comradere and catch up on what’s happening in Marble Falls. All in all, a good stop!

Beef like jerky, no sauce, no bread, poor sides and no service. Skip this one.

I am a fan because they know how to smoke it… This is an interesting place — a little hard to see off 281 unless you are looking for it — it’s in a small old house. Some may not be happy with the limited selection so I am basing my review on the actual food not the limited selection. They make the decision process easy but mostly offering 2 things(most days) brisket & turkey sausage. I believe a sign said on Wednesday’s they offer ribs as well. For the most part it’s just brisket & sausage. The brisket — beautiful smoke rings, very tender and tasty. This is one of those BBQ places where you don’t need to douse your food in sauce. The turkey sausage — way better than I expected. Great flavor. Sauce — decent but if the BBQ is smoked right I don’t need or want sauce. For this place I didn’t think sauce was needed. You can get a sandwich, plate or by the lb. They plates can be ordered as small($ 6.50) or large($ 7.50) one meat choice or combo. Both are served with beans, slaw, pickle and bread. If you order by the lb I believe that was $ 10. It’s a mom & pop — husband & wife type of place. The wifey was super friendly/outgoing/personable(you get my point?). A couple of things to note. If you are looking for to-go they don’t have real to-go containers. They make the plate and cover it with foil. This isn’t bad but can make the bread soggy. Ask for sauce on the side if you want to control sauce vs. not covered. She doesn’t douse it or put too much but I would have rather had more control over whether I wanted sauce on my BBQ. If you’re in the neighborhood and craving brisket or turkey sausage this place is worth it.

I wish I could give this place a higher rating, I really do. The folks running the place are nice, the service was pleasant, and the Q was pretty good. Pretty good. I mean, this is Texas, right? This is arguably the center of the BBQ capital of the world, right? We live in the Austin area, and if you drew a circle around the area an hour from Austin you are talking about places like Llano, Taylor, Luling, Lockhart, Dripping Springs… and of course, Austin. Think of the BBQ patriarchs in these communities like Mueller, Black’s, Smitty’s, Cooper’s… think about Franklin BBQ in Austin, Salt Lick(uh, the original in Dripping Springs, we don’t discuss that imitation in Round Rock). Giants in the world of Texas BBQ. Inman’s Ranch House is good but pales in comparison. Is that fair? No, probably not, but I just can’t give this place any higher than a «A-Ok». I would definitely eat here again if I was in Marble Falls. I’d probably grab a brisket sandwich and a bag of chips, slather on some sauce and happily move on with my day. But I wouldn’t still be talking about it days later like we did after eating at Franklin BBQ in Austin, or even Johnny T’s in Round Rock. And I won’t be dragging my out of town friends here when they come to visit.

Great food at a good price. This is one of my favorite places in the hill country and it has by far the best best bbq in the Marble Falls area. The unique turkey sausage is excellent by itself or in one of their sandwiches. The brisket is moist and never dry.(There is no option for«lean brisket.») The homemade sauce is exceptional, and the sides — beans and slaw — are both good. It’s one of the few local, family-operated businesses that helps provide character to this region. It doesn’t advertise — it relies strictly on happy customers and word-of-mouth

a little hole in the wall in Marble Falls. If you like turkey(I do), you can get a great lunch sandwich and drink for under $ 6. Pretty rustic, but it is typical for that area.

I really wanted to like this place. After driving past it several days in a row, I decided it met all the criteria for the perfect small-town Texas barbecue joint. Upon walking in I was greeted with a friendly hello at the counter, which sits right next to the pits where the delicious-smelling meats have been slowly smoking for hours. A mix of brisket and sausage was served up on a styrofoam picnic plate at a decent lunch price with all the appropriate accessories(a side of beans, slaw, bread, pickles, and onions). The peppery BBQ sauce was generously poured over the meat as my taste buds begged for meat perfection. Unfortunately, I was seriously disappointed by the first bite, which was the sausage. It had seriously tough skin that could barely be cut. Moving on to the brisket, I was greeted by more blandness. The BBQ sauce, which is homemade, tastes like prego spaghetti sauce with too much pepper. It should be avoided at all costs. The slaw was fresh, but with too much vinegar. The beans were by far the hi-light of the meal, but were marginal at best. I left here feeling sad that the BBQ let me down. I’d recommend driving the extra 25 minutes to Llano and eat at Coopers if you are really in the mood for good BBQ.

This is some authentic local BBQ, and we needed some meat to eat with a bunch of sides/desserts left over from a wedding the previous day. This was the only joint in Marble Falls that seemed to be open on Sunday. The counter is adjacent to the smoke pit room, and various local older men were sitting in there hanging out and chatting on that Sunday. It was the real deal. You couldn’t get more«local» with the atmosphere. Service was friendly(of course — it’s the Texas Hill Country!), and we joked with ‘em a bit while waiting for our order to be sliced. There were only two meats on the menu — just brisket and turkey sausage. Cheap too — $ 8/lb for the brisket, and I think $ 6 for the sausage. We got 3 lbs of brisket and a lb of sausage. The verdict? The brisket was very flavorful — it was mostly lean with moist/fatty parts here and there. The thing that stood out was the crust that had formed on the outside. It was jerky-like, super smokey, and very peppery… with a thin layer of meltaway fat between it and the meat. On the other hand, the turkey sausage was extremely dense, ground turkey, rather bland, and very dry. We had to smother it with the sauce(we got a pint for $ 2-something) — which was slightly sweet, tomato-y, and very peppery. Thank goodness for the sauce. All in all, it did the trick, although of all the BBQ I had in Austin/Marble Falls/vicinity that extended weekend, it was my least favorite.

this place is not easy to spot but the brisket is well worth it. the food: I ordered the small combo plate consisting of beans, slaw, turkey sausage and brisket. the turkey sausage was yuck but I’m not a fan of turkey sausage… however the brisket was mmm mmmm good. the atmosphere: the restaurant is easy to miss as it looks like a small home. inside it is very rustic but clean and cool. price: affordable, 2 plates and drinks came to $ 12:) overall: pretty darn good and worth every penny:)

The correct address is 707 Sixth. Thebes been serving at the same location since 1964. The food to value ratio is excellent! Although you can eat at one of the half dozen tables there were several people who bought dinner portions to take home. The food is typical central Texas smoked BBQ.
