If a vegan runs a marathon, which does he tell you about first? That joke sums up this place. I saw the incredible Unilocal ratings and had to check this out. The location is great and the décor looks like you would expect. The lemonade wasnt any good. Sandwich was neither.

Met a friend here for a lunch date. We had an awesome experience! Foundation Grounds brings a really cool local coffee house urban feel to Maplewood. They have a great variety of food for lunch including sandwiches, quesadillas, soups, and so on. I had a soup and sandwich, which were great. They also have lots of coffee drinks to choose from. We had a great experience here!

Great coffee and a great selection of local, vegan, healthy(I’m not vegan, but that’s cool if you are) snacks. I love supporting this local business in the heart of Maplewood! Tip: I’ve visit Foundation Grounds many times, and all different days of the weeks and times during the day… it’s always pretty busy. Especially on weekend mornings, it can be hard to find an available table. But don’t that discourage you, just wait you turn or arrive when you’re not in a rush.

Coffee grounds is the place to be on a Sunday morning, such a lovely atmosphere. They have food selections too. I just had a peanut butter cookie and a mocha latte both delicious. I also had the pleasure of trying out their FroGreen Juice, soooo good and good for you. They have plenty of seating and tables. Music is good not to over powering so you can easily enjoy a book. They also have restrooms which is a plus if you plan on studying here for a while. The cashiers, servers, and baristas have been very friendly. I’m definitely coming again. Plus I love how they are selling art work by local artist. They are all over the walls. Awesome. Love the small business supporting other small businesses(artist)!

What a wonderful little café in the heart of Maplewood! They serve breakfast dishes like quiche, a variety of lunch time soups, salads, sandwiches, pastries, coffee, teas etc. The décor is very comfortable, inviting and homey.(In a good way) The business puts great importance on organic food, fair trade coffees and teas, recycling, and using locally sourced products. I highly commend that! This day my friend and I were on a quest for cold pressed coffee as that has become my go-to summer time drink. The counter staff was extremely knowledgable about the cold-pressed coffee they sell. One worker took the time to explain the difference and the process. It was quite interesting and he was a doll for answering all my questions(yes, I’ve got a bit of a barista crush now). We thoroughly enjoyed our iced cold pressed coffee and pastries. Will be back for sure!

Was looking for a cold brew coffee and fell in love. The staff at Foundation Grounds really worked with us, talking through options and recommendations. My friend had done her homework on cold brew coffee and was able to talk at length with the staff. I ordered a 16oz cold brew Moonstone iced coffee. I also has a biscotti with lavender– yum. I would get both things again. Looking forward to my next trip to Maplewood so I can visit Foundation Grounds!

I’ve been here twice now and have enjoyed both visits. I like going to local coffee shops and this one does not disappoint. They have a good selection of drinks, not just caffeinated brews. My son loves their smoothies. They have a good selection of pastries, sandwiches and breakfast items. I really like the biscuits and gravy made with local G&W sausage.

Wow! So I have been hearing and reading about this place and I’ve been very excited to give it a try. This morning, I happen to be in the neighborhood and saw ample parking in the area so I decided to stop by and check it out. There were a fair number of people enjoying their morning caffeine and breakfast but someone took my order right away. I decided to try a 20oz mocha latte with almond milk and something off of their Brunch Burrito menu: Ben’s Ham and Cheese. I wanted it to go because I only live about 3 – 5 minutes away and I just wanted to get home to my dog. He asked me if I wanted some sour cream and salsa so I said yes. I usually skip the sour cream altogether but I have had a busy morning(considering it’s my day off!) and I figured, I should live a little. The drink came fast enough. I tasted it and was blown away. I love coffee and I am in constant search for great coffee, mocha, cappuccinos and what-have-yous. In fact, I always order my coffee online from the islands just because I get used to certain things and decide that I can’t live without them. Now that I have had Foundation Grounds, I don’t think I can live without! Okay, perhaps I am exaggerating and I might struggle to live without it for several years but it would be torture. All I can say is, great mocha. I will definitely be craving this and will have to come back for more! Now on to the food. I came home and unboxed my burrito excitedly! It was neatly wrapped in a foil wrap and on the side of the box are the sourcream and salsa containers. They gave me enough of everything and even some napkins and plastic utensil. Very thoughtful. Had I been heading to work with my food or somewhere I will have no access to utensils, it definitely will come in handy! My burrito was still warm and when I cut it in half, all the gooey melted cheese started dripping off of it. It was quite scrumptious and the ham, cheese, egg ratio was wonderful. I was definitely getting a good proportion of ham, cheese and egg in every bite. It was even better with their fresh-tasting salsa and sour cream which has been infused with some herbs. I am officially in love with Foundation Grounds. I can’t wait to come back!

I had breakfast as Foundation Grounds today, and it was a delightful experience! The barista was very helpful and offered to make me something else if I didn’t like the honey cardamom latte I ordered. It was amazing! I can’t quite describe the flavor: subtly savory, but still a latte. It went perfectly with their Meat Me in St Louis quiche. Everyone who spoke to me was incredibly friendly, and the atmosphere was very relaxed. They played a variety of music that was uptempo but still easy to talk over if necessary. It seems like a very easy place to work, and there is a lot of space that even when sitting next to someone, the tables didn’t feel on top of each other. I’m sure it could get a bit loud at peak times, but overall there was a great feel to this place.

Cute little café! I can not wait to get the full Fountain Grounds experience. I’m on a gruesome diet right now so I went in for a coffee fix and was tortured by the tantalizing muffins, granola balls, quiche, salads, quesadillas. I ordered the 16oz Lavender latte with almond milk($ 5 and some change) which was delicious. This place has plenty of seating and gives off a hip-eco-chic-mom & pop type feel(if that makes any sense). Kinda reminds me of The Mud House. I wanted to steal all of their awesome furniture and place it in my house. Anywho, it’s located in the heart of Maplewood so park and walk a bit.

I don’t drink coffee often… but when I do, I drink foundation grounds… I’m not a coffee expert, but I drink black coffee a decent amount and foundation ground’s black coffee is quite quite delicious. It’s not that bitter and it has an awesome aroma. Can’t really say that much for the other stuff, because I haven’t had it, but if you are in the area and looking for a coffee place, definitely try this place out. Beware of the bathrooms, I went into one of them and it was tiny, smaller than an airplane bathroom; I was told there was a bigger one but I couldn’t tell if my friends were trolling me.

It was a nice pleasant surprise to find in the neighborhood. It was not too crowded though many people were sitting one to a table. The lady behind the register answered all my questions about their coffees. I ended up getting a vegetarian peanut butter banana bread muffin and a coffee. I tried both of the coffee they had(Love & gratitude blend and a stronger one) and enjoyed both. The muffin was also good though I should have warmed it up. I decided NOT to be like the others and just sat and watched the traffic and other folks. Didn’t have my face in a screen or book. Nice and relaxing.

I was in the mood for something different, so I gave this place a shot. Parking was a bit tricky, but I eventually found a spot. The atmosphere was typical of a coffee shop, but the seating area seemed a bit more open. The staff was friendly, and it was clean. I usually get a vanilla latte when I go out, but didn’t see that on the menu. I opted for a white chocolate mocha instead. It was an excellent compliment to the raspberry muffin. When I bit into the muffin, I had a delightful surprise! Chocolate!!! I had a very nice time nibbling on the amazing muffin and sipping my coffee. Overall it was a great experience. I will be back!

I really enjoyed the honey cardamom latte(think chai but with coffee instead of tea). The no-bake oat cookie dough balls(«gooballs») are addictive and filling. The mocha was a little bit too heavy and sweet for me(they melt chocolate into it) but still very, very good. Pastries were also high quality. Staff were very nice, but I had to ask for a receipt and internet access codes both days. Small seating area(one large table that could seat 6 – 8, then lots of 2 person tables.)

For some companies to claim to have an undying devotion to high caliber espresso machines, fair trade beans and single sourced this and that there hasn’t been enough action on the coffee scene for the a primary ingredient, milk. Milk is a huge part of coffee culture, so to overlook it is just asinine in my opinion. Foundation Grounds has all the above AND the milk covered in an exceptional way! I have been looking for a place that made espresso drinks with almond milk but they are very few and far between. Then comes this jewel; it was a light ordeal to park(that’s Maplewood for you) but I’m so glad I found this spot and I’m proud to declare this is going to be a new coffee Mecca for me. I went in and ordered a Mocha. Normally, I would get hazelnut or toffee-nut because a lot of places Mocha is rather bitter for my liking. Something told me to just go ahead and give it a try on its own(I was already getting almond milk — so I was winning). Before I could sit down and make a phone call my order was up. A lovingly, handcrafted drink with very beautiful artwork was piping hot and ready for me. I go to stir my drink and I lick the stirrer to gauge how much sugar I’ll need to add. In my mind«oh boy they have done it, I don’t need any sugar — what in Sam Hill is going on»? It was so good I had to call my mom. It was so good that I called over the Barista and told him that the drink that he just hand crafted up for me was ri-damn-diculous(in a good way)!!! I told him I was frustrated with other places not serving almond milk and also about how taken aback I was at how delicious the Mocha was without any extra additives. This place truly uses premium ingredients and that was apparent straight away. I can’t wait to go back and try some of the awesome food items that are on the menu. The customer service here is impeccable. They were about to close and they told me they don’t kick anybody out. It really felt homey and relaxed in this charming location; lots of comfy seating and distinctive seating arrangements so everyone wasn’t corralled together. Will I come here every day? Due to the vicinity issues, I can’t. Will I go out of my way to come here when I’m in the area? I certainly will. Will I tell the world and tell friends about my newfound love? You know this man! In my book this is my number one coffee spot and it will take a whole lot for someone to change that(maybe Matthew McConaughey will open up a place here and serve coffee himself; heck he might, he is doing car commercials now).

My first visit today. Lovely space and friendly staff. This was the second time ever I’ve received a design on top of my cappuccino. There was a funky smell in the store. Maybe it was insense? Anyway I’ll definitely return!
