My wife and I purchased a lot of furniture from Ethan Allen in 2012. One item, a dining room table, developed a surface disruption about 7 months later. We never eat at that end of the table, and the foam-backed pads were always on. There was no water mark there, or on the side of the table, or on the underside of the pads. When we called the salesperson at the Maple Shade, NJ store where we bought the furniture, we were told this was not unusual, and was due to shipping before the wood had fully cured. When we called the customer care center they sent a workman out to look at it. He was more interested in obtaining the refinishing work than listening to us. Based on his review our warranty claim was denied. We hired our own expert who agreed that it was a manufacturing defect. When we gave his report to the customer care center we learned that the Maple Shade store was not a part of Ethan Allen(despite there being no other designation), and the service rep we’d been dealing with(who never gave her last name) had to refer us to Ethan Allen corporate. With no further investigation they also denied our claim. So now to litigation, or eat the $ 1000 it will take to repair the table.

Great furniture and the complimentary design they offer was very helpful. Just be careful because they will try and sell you everything for your room — including carpets, lamps, etc. I’m quite disappointed with the time line it takes to receive my pieces. I placed my order on 10⁄28 and it is 2⁄15 and I do not have all of my pieces yet! I understand it is custom made but was told that it would take 12 weeks to complete. We are now on week 17 and my sales rep wants to argue with me about the timing.
