Well what a score, a non-chain coffee house in Maple Grove of all places! A little out of the way, unless you lived out here but very accommodating. Left work early and waiting to pick up my daughter in the mass of suburban Maple Grove and I think to myself«maybe I’ll sit back grab a coffee and kill some time». Now the first thought is to look for a Caribou or Starbucks being this is Maple Grove after all. Thank god for all the poorly timed lights that MG has so thoughtfully installed I have plenty of time to pull out the Google Maps and search«coffee». Bummer though, no chain places around, really? There is this place, The Studios at Rush Creek. A few more red lights and here I am, not at Rush Creek the golf course but this little strip mall not far from it. Now the sort of cool thing is this is part Art Studio, they obviously teach classes here as well and party coffee shop. I grab a coffee, a muffin and the password for the wifi and I am set. Nice big seating area with a comfy couch, some ok leather chairs and relaxing music playing. Damn I’m good for a while. Nice to see something outside of the box in an area not really known for its number of out side of the box type places. Now I have one more place to come and get away when I’m out and about, waiting at red lights. KT

What a neat place. I had a groupon and took a class that was awesome we made a plate a wall hanging and a jewelry pendant. The teacher/owner was very patient and nice. I am tempted to go back and do studio time. I am only concerned about the pricing. You have to buy full or half sheets of glass and are not allowed to use the scrap bin which is what we used for our class which seems like more what you would want to use for small projects. They also have a coffee bar at the front of the shop. What a cool concept.

What a GEM! I purchased a groupon and took an amazing class with glass fusing! Teacher was patient, and the projects turned out awesome! Wish I lived closer b/c I’d be there 24⁄7!

I sure wish this place was closer, it’s so much fun. We did the paint your own pottery… had a groupon. The staff is really sweet and I like the laid back vibe there. The studio is large and they have a ton of classes. If it weren’t so far from me I’m sure I’d spend alot of time here. The paint your own pottery is really laid back, you can go in anytime during their normal hours. Pick your piece and they’ll set you up with everything you need. Very relaxing and our fired pieces came out great!!!

I am with Melissa B when she says it is heaven!!! I could also live there — it is amazing and really inspiring! really decent coffee! I look forward to many classes and projects here. I am a handmade jewelry enthusiast but I love trying new mediums. I tried my first class last Sunday — a sheet metal course. I was excited to try something completely out of my comfort zone. Very modern art and class taught by someone who is very successful at what she makes/sells/teaches. As a teacher myself, I was very disappointed that this person DOESNOT know how to teach. At one point I looked up at a classmate and my face must have looked puzzled because she said«don’t worry, you didn’t miss anything – she just doesn’t explain it!» I don’t recommend the class at all(sheet metal art) unless you really LOVE the work displayed on the site and fb page. I did, however, leave inspired to try new things because of all of the wonderfully displayed pieces of artwork, jewelry, stained glass, pottery, etc! Take your kids there for their b-day party. You can walk in off the street and get your craft fix by painting some pottery, etc.

I was very pleasantly surprised to visit this place. It was such a nice coffee shop/gift shop/art studio/art class. They have nice coffee bar with hot coffee drinks, iced coffee drinks, and fruit smoothies. They also have jewelry and other art objects from local artists for sale. There is also a nice art studio area in the back where they offer varieties of art classes such as stained glass, ceramic painting, metalworking, woodmaking and so much more. IVe never taken any of their classes but from the art objects that they are selling, which I believe are also from the classes, those are all very nice.

Can’t believe this place… It is heaven. I wish I could live here. If you craft or dabble in any sort of art medium, bead or fancy making jewelry… You will not want to leave this utopia. Love coffee, GREAT. Love sitting quietly in a soft couch surrounded by fabulousness, GREAT. If I could marry«The Studio» I would. Need a place for a book club to meet, this is perfect. I cannot say enough to convey my joy over having found this gem.

I love The Studio at Rush Creek! I drive 2.5 hours to take classes there because they are the best! I appreciate the time they take with the classes, the individual help and encouragement, and the great variety of classes they offer. In addition, they carry supplies, provide studio time, and technical assistance when needed. I have learned so much from them, and will keep going back for new classses and materials. Great job!
