Rest stop food is usually a one-star experience. You get something pretty salty or fried, or a meal that is just generally unsatisfying. My expectations were low pulling into the Portage Service Plaza, but my stomach was empty and so was my gas tank. Fresh Attractions caught my eye as a healthier fast-food option, and I was pleased to see a red-pepper and pesto turkey sandwich on their menu. The sandwich was what I would term rest-stop-delicious(in a category of hyphenated compliments that also includes dumpster-chic and trailer-park-couture), meaning it was predictably salty and somewhat processed-tasting while still being an A+ rest stop meal. If I was ever passing through Mantua, Ohio again, I’d stop at Fresh Attractions without hesitation.
