The location is great, in the heart of Manitou Springs and close to way cool stuff. The wait staff is awesome and professional! The ambiance is great too and the out door patio in good weather is beautiful! The food is sadly mediocre at best. The calamari was good and even if a bit small was still a good appetizer. Butt the Elk Brat looked naked and the Ruben was just plain bad news. The chef salad was equally uninspired and bland. The prices are reasonable and compared to Denver’s prices are a good deal.

Food was really unimpressive. My friend asked for their steak to be cooked medium and they got one that ranged from medium well to blue rare in most places. Also was smothered in overly salty brown gravy that overpowered the steak. The veggie side dish was pretty tasty though. I ordered the pulled pork and fries, the fries were also overseasoned, wayy too much salt. They also seemed to have come premade from the grocery store. The pulled pork bun was toasted well, but the pork was somehow soaking wet and crunchy dry at the same time. The seasoning was good though. Overall I will probably not be returning here because the price and quality did not match.

Went for Thanksgiving dinner, the food was good, not great and the portions were big but the restaurant was very cold and the service slow. I don’t think we’ll be back.

I been waiting over 2.5 hours no food. There’s no breakfast menu. They tell you what 5 items they have. The coffee machine broke. The hostess is wonderful but our waiter haven’t came around. I am ready to walk out. Disappointed costumer.

I’ve been a total of three times since PJ reopened the Stagecoach Inn. I have had something different each time, and each was delicious and the waitress(got lucky with the same one each time) was great. The bison sloppy joe made for a delicious lunch. The guacamole burger was excellent. And the country-fried steak we had for dinner was terrific. We love sitting outdoors in front(for some people watching) and the back patio is wonderfully relaxing and intimate. Could have gotten 5 stars if they had Fat Tire on tap!(just sayin’)

This place is only notable for its attractive greeters and Rocky Mountain Oysters. Other than that it feels really disorganized, as if it is owned by someone with high expectations but no real world experience on how to run a restaurant. The poor greeters are running around trying to help everybody else, so there’s no one to greet you when you enter. The manager doubles as the bartender, which not only feels sleezy but shows how inexperienced the people who run this restaurant are. They try to hard to micromanage and it ends up slowing down everything. The food is also overpriced, which would be fine if everything wasn’t so *slow*. I hope to see this place clean up their act soon, because this stumbling around won’t last long.

Last time I went was about 2 – 3 years ago and was before I moved to Colorado. I had a great meal and thought favorably about it. I had some friends from out of town in and after a trip up Pike’s peak, I thought this would be the perfect place. The hostess was great and the only reason they get two stars and not one. She was welcoming and friendly. Things started out alright, but I was disappointed with the kids menu. However, that’s not what we came for. I ordered a flat iron steak medium rare. When it came, it was raw. It took forever for the waiter to come back, but to his credit he said he was sorry. I sent it back, which normally I am to scared to do, but had to. Right away it came back and was now rare on the outside and raw in the middle. Not wanting to send it back again, I ate the outside part of the steak that was rare. As I sit on the John for the third time today, I realize that was a mistake. My two guests ordered medium well for their ribeyes and luckily they were only medium rare. However, I heard another table complain about their undercooked steak. So to sum it up, the location is AWESOME and so is the hostess with the tattooed leg. The waiter was nice, but had too many tables to serve us properly. The food was bad and that is a huge problem. Not to mention the prices were very high. Perhaps it was the regular cooks day off, but the food we got was bad. Unless I hear of some major changes, I won’t be back. Which is too bad because it has the makings of an awesome place.

Great place to stop in for a drink on a beautiful day. There’s a nice patio in back with a stream running by. The bar and wait staff were very friendly. Someday we’ll come back and try their food!

Our server yelled and cursed at top volume in the middle of the patio, interrupting our mediocre meal. That was the point at which it was solidified that this spot was a mistake. We were rushed from the beginning of our experience even though the restaurant was not full. Our server literally walked up to us and said– let me hurry up and get your order so I can get to their order–(as she gestured at the table next to us). She then forgot half our drink order and got our drinks mixed up when she dropped them off. We asked to change patio tables because the one we sat at was«the drunk table» and is apparently known as the wobbly table(unfixable with sugar packets under the leg) and it was funny to them that we didn’t want the drunk table. The green chile fries were good and were the ONLY redeeming part of this meal. They were hot, crispy and flavorful. This is supposed to be a nicer spot; a sit down restaurant for dining but the service and the quality of food completely contradict«dining». We weren’t asked temps for our bison burgers and for me when you are spending $ 15 for a burger it should be cooked to temp. Both burgers were very well done with very charred edges. The burgers were thin and appeared to be pre-fab rather than pattied in house. The potato salad was tasty but very, very runny. Half way through our meal someone stole our servers tip off a table(we dined on the patio– which was next to the creek). I felt sorry for the server but that doesn’t mean that it was okay when she yelled«you stupid fat f*€k» at the guy as he walked away. It sucked that our server, Samantha S. was stolen from, but she did not handle the situation maturely and the management who was on the patio didn’t seem to mind her behavior. Our bill was $ 70 for 2 bison burgers with potato salad sides, 4 beers, and 1 green chile fry appetizer. For this money we could have had a much better dinner at a much classier spot. The last negative for this spot was that one stall in the lady’s room was out of order and the only remaining bathroom stall’s toilet would not flush. It was disgusting. Needless to say, we won’t be back.

This place not one I’d recommend. With so many other cute options in Maintou, I’d go elsewhere. We had a very weird server for lunch on Friday and it kind of clouded the whole experience. I think she was just trying to joke around with us, but she came off really rude/mean and it was off-putting and confusing. Every time she left the table the four of us were like…“what just happened???” For instance, my husband asked if they had cider for me and she kind of yelled, «Do we look like we have cider?!» It was a lot of that. The menu was asinine – it’s basically not a menu, just a list of names for things. For the burgers, they just had burger names(«western», etc) but NODESCRIPTION of what each burger entailed. Like your version and my version of a «western» burger could vary greatly. The fries were standard frozen fries that they attempt to make into a(green) chili cheese fry situation, but it fails because the fries are so lame. We all got burgers which were fine but pretty flavorless. My husband enjoyed the buffalo, but the rest of us got beef and it was very bland and lacked any kind of basic seasoning(including S&P). The coleslaw was ok, but the potato salad was super gross. Cute old building and view of the babbling brook from the deck, but don’t be fooled.

* Very, very slow service. * Glass continuously empty. * Out of most things I wanted to order. * Nothing special about the food. * Tried to serve us other people’s orders several times. * Over priced. * Charged us for another table plus ours TWICE. Every part of this meal was the opposite of the nice family dinner I wanted. I don’t plan on coming back.

I don’t enjoy the new Stagecoach. The menu was very different. For the dinners, they were very over priced! I could get the same plates for almost half the price elsewhere. I ordered the Blackened Trout. It was trout with canned corn and rice for $ 33. It’s fine that they offer fine dining, but the atmosphere did not seem like it at all. **They do no have a children’s menu.** My 9 year old had to order a $ 30 meal off the adult menu. I thought they could have at least offered a smaller portion or something for her. I will say, the food was good. The waitstaff was very nice and accommodating. There are so many options in Manitou Springs, I would probably chose somewhere else.

Fried chicken. Terrible and overpriced. $ 18 for two pieces of chicken. Some at table got breast and thigh. Some got a wing. Some got a leg. Very strange. It tasted like reheated KFC. Also no roll bread or salad. $ 18 for two pieces of chicken. Corn from a can and Mashed potatoes. A far far far cry from the fried chicken of the past. I would recommend passing by the place. Very sad how terrible it was.

The service was horrible and the food nothing to crave. Our drink order came out 40 minutes after we placed the order and we waited an eternity for hamburgers and salad to be served. We were seated at our table at 12:30 and left at 2pm — and we did not spend time hanging out in conversation. We received refills only after asking for them. I consider this a place to never experience again.

New ownership… Beware We are from Dallas and stopped in here 2 years ago on our Colorado vacation. I honestly would rate the restaurant at 5+ stars at that point. Yesterday our family stopped in and noticed a new menu and new management. I ordered the Bacon Mushroom Burger medium rare — it was well done. I wanted onions on it — no onions. We remembered a specific appetizer from the last time we ate here and it was no longer on the menu. After the twenty minute wait, we couldn’t wait to dig into the stuffed mushrooms — the stuffed mushrooms that are no longer served, along with many other famous and popular entrees alike. Bad experience. Only giving it two stars because the waiter was extremely nice and apologized profusely for the burnt burger and the lack of onions. Would not recommend.

New ownership from what I understand. And the manager and waitstaff were very attentive to our needs. The food was ok. Had the goat cheese burger. We also had the feta cheese salad with watermelon. That was just iceberg lettuce and some watermelon chunks. But overall I liked the rustic feel to it.

We visited the Stagecoach Inn three years ago during our Colorado vacation and loved it. I have Celiac disease and at that time(in 2012) they offered Udi’s gluten free buns so I was able to enjoy a very nice hamburger. I was very much looking forward to the same experience when we chose this restaurant on July 3, 2015. Friday, July 3 was the opening night of the NEW Stagecoach Inn. At this point, I would say avoid this restaurant until they get the many, MANY kinks worked out. BEWARNED — THISISNOTTHESAMESTAGECOACHINNTHATISADVERTISEDONTHEWEBSITE. The menu is light years from the one posted. They no longer offer any gluten free options on the menu. Because of this I decided to order a dinner salad. .. or so I thought. One might think that a salad costing $ 9.95 would be a dinner portion. One would be wrong. The $ 9.95 spinach salad was very tasty, but it was the size of a side salad — not at all satisfying for someone who had been walking around Manitou Springs all afternoon and had no other gluten free options. My daughter ordered a «stuffed burger» cooked medium. What she got was two thin patties well done with a slice of cheese between them. The cheese wasn’t even melted because they waited too long to serve it. My niece ordered a steak cooked medium well. When she got it, it was bloody. She cut into it and lost her appetite. When my brother asked the waiter to take it back, he actually growled. I’m sure that the waiter was just frustrated at the kitchen staff, but the behavior was extremely unprofessional. And he either raised his voice or growled at least two more times. My niece was very rattled and finally just left the table. The service was abysmal. When I was served the tiny $ 10 salad, a waitress heard me question its size. She offered to speak to the manager. I never saw her or the manager again. As a matter of fact, during the course of our meal the manager walked past our table several times and not once did he ask how everything was. I was so frustrated that I left the restaurant and waited for my family outside. My niece soon joined me. As we sat outside, another patron came out to the garden waiting area. She didn’t know that we had just been inside. She came up to us and said, «If you’re waiting for a table, it’s not worth it.» She related a very similar experience. While we were outside waiting for the rest of our parties, we turned away at least 10 people. If I thought we had an isolated experience, I wouldn’t have warned those people away. But our dinner, combined with the story from the other woman(who had also come to the restaurant expecting gluten-free options) prompted me to insure that others weren’t subjected to the disappointment that we were. I really hope that they can get the bugs worked out and that they can hold some customer service trainings and bring the Stagecoach back to the level that we enjoyed three years ago. Until then, avoid this restaurant. Footnote — while I was outside, my husband was able to talk to the waiter(the manager still was nowhere to be found) and get the burned burger and the tiny salads(my husband also got what he thought was going to be a dinner salad but turned out to be a side) taken off of our bill. My niece’s rare steak(which she did not eat at all) was also comped. That took a little of the sting out, but it didn’t erase the experience, nor did it fill our stomachs.

I could start off by saying that the food was decent or that the atmosphere was great, but without a great staff the food is just blahh. I firmly believe that to go to an establishment such as the Stagecoach Inn one must experience something that would make them want to go back time after time. The best part of my experience here was the time spent with my family and getting to know other Dallas travelers who were all seated by us. Our waitress Carrie was somewhat decent & acceptable like the food; however, it was the Manager Matt who would forever have destroyed any positives about this place. I have NEVER been treated SO rudly in my life & I am glad someone has offered this rude, unprofessional individual a job because I would NEVER hire this person for a job even doing as much as cleaning dishes. So, in ending, the food is ok but probably not worth the 2 $$ price range on the menu. If you take the risk I would make sure that you leave with everything you came with(including your debit card) & pray that you don’t have to deal with Matt because he doesn’t give a damn about you anyway. Enjoy your risk. ZERO stars.
