This is a pretty okay to stay when you’re visiting Colorado Springs. We visited during 4th of July weekend and there were fireworks shot off on the nearby mountains and it was pretty sweet to be able to walk right out of our room and see the beautiful display. Also, the location is unbeatable – when the sun came up, we could see Pikes Peak directly outside of our door. It’s also just minutes(0.2 miles) from Garden of the Gods. The owner, George, is a really sweet man who kindly put out fresh coffee, sugar and creamer early in the morning for guests to enjoy. It is worth noting that this motel is a little old-fashioned and quirky and has possibly not been updated in several years. If you are looking for a modern hotel, this is not the place for you. If you’re looking for a cute family place that is comfortable and reasonably priced with a great location, go ahead and give George a call!

After looking at a lot of places online I decided to take a chance and use google maps to find a hotel near where I wanted to stay. I found a couple and after a little research I choose the Dillon Motel. It was great. The room was spacious but cozy and my wife and I ended up staying an extra day. The view of Pikes Peak out the front door was amazing. It’s really close to downtown Manitou Springs and conveniently close to the Garden of the Gods as well as Red Rock Canyon Open Space. George is a friendly and knowledgeable host who has an intimate relationship with the local deer and he feeds them daily. The room and bathroom was clean, the cable had a good selection of channels, we had a refrigerator and a microwave, a table and chairs as well as a desk and a large closet. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for an inexpensive and charming place that is centrally located. I believe they close in the winter because We were there in late September and George was talking about preparing the rooms for the winter by turning off the water and putting antifreeze in the toilets.

This is a great place! I called when I was about 30 minutes out and the owner, George, took a moment to decide which room was best and didn’t even want a credit card; told me we would just take care of it when I arrived. The room was not very large, but I was there for the evening and not planning on settling in so it was just perfect. It did have a small office space which would have been very adequate if I had to do any work. The wireless Internet worked like a charm! I was on the far side of the property, past the pool, yet it was better than many of the big box hotels. Watched the deer come in for dinner and then enjoyed coffee in the morning. George did ask me if I wanted any breakfast, but since I am not a breakfast guy I said no. Not sure what he may have offered, but there was a kind thought behind it I am sure. The room was neat and clean, and it even had one of those«sanitized for your protection» strips on the toilet seat and that made me smile as I believe it was! The best part was the room was about $ 55 plus tax. Try and find that price anyplace else in the Springs area. I will stay there every time I am in the area. It’s not a «5-star hotel» but for my fellow Unilocalers, the quality was all of 5 stars.

We love this place. Come back at least once a year. This little place has been family owned and operated thru several generations. The best value in Manitou Springs

If you’re all about big, brand new, shiny hotels, then this isn’t for you. If you like cute, quaint & nostalgic cabin motels… you’ll love it! For the price, you can’t beat it. The cabin with the king bed has a small kitchenette(fridge, microwave, sink) drop-leaf breakfast table, dish network TV, free WiFi & a car port. My husband said the pool was really nice. The owners are very friendly. They do coffee in the morning by the office & wait for the deer to walk up to get fed! The only downfall is the bathroom in the room is very, very small & shower handles leak a bit… not really a big deal for us.
