Good selection of books with great prices. Found some new books at a price that even beats Amazon. Friendly staff. Lots more than books in this one.

How can you beat books and wine? The atmosphere in this place, especially the basement, is darling. Down there, there’s a window, turned into a book-nook covered in pillows facing a garden. Adorable. I went here summer of 2010 and killed an hour reading and sampling their house wine, which it appeared, they only carry a few wines, their faves. The book collection isn’t huge, but the owners are so friendly and like another poster said, they don’t hover. And they don’t mind if people come in with food, as some friends of theirs came in with the most amazing looking take-out that I was bummed that I had already eaten dinner. The people who wandered in brought food from The Jerusalem Café, which I MOST assuredly will be hitting up next time: some fantastic looking flat bread, grape-leaf stuffed something or another, the scent of which, drove me crazy. This place is a refreshing break from all the tourist traps.

I came to Colorado Springs on a business trip and decided to browse the shops in Manitou Springs. I love reading, and especially love unique bookstores, so I could not pass up entering this place. This bookstore is really cozy and inviting. The owner is really sweet and you can tell she has read a lot of books. It was also decorated for christmas and she had put out relevant christmas books in the display. Downstairs, she has lots of children’s books as well as fiction and non-fiction. Being there made me just want to plop down on a seat by the fire(yes there really is a crackling fire) and read a good book. Not a wide selection, but keep in mind you’re not in a Border’s. Definitely worth a stop and you may get lost in a book =)

If you’re looking to steal away from the crazy tourist shopping district that is Manitou Springs, this is the perfect place. It’s a wonderful used book store hidden among some of the blander tschotschkie shops. The owner doesn’t hover and totally approves of bringing drinks into the the shop. Take the rickety old staircase downstairs and discover the perfect reading room: two window nooks with pillow, a sofa chair, a desk, and a fireplace. Not a huge selection but a very good mix of used and new titles. Prices are decent; however, it is still beyond me why people would pay top dollar for books when you’ve got the library, half dot com, and book swaps. I’ll get off my soapbox now. Check out the new-age meditation room connected downstairs.

Very cute little independently owned bookstore in Manitou Springs. Also doubles as a wine bar! Grab a cup of coffee or tea(free) and wonder through this quaint book lovers delight!
