Walked in, saw weird shit, walked out. Creepy posters on the wall as well. To be expected in Chinatown but still…

Surprise Surprise, Yummy Yummy is actually Yummy. I went here and ordered a few dan khat(chinese egg tarts) and a couple slices of cake for my girlfriend and her co-worker. The egg tarts were perfect, some of the best that i’ve had in a long time. The cream-lined sponge cake was fresh and lightly sweetened. Yummy Yummy was Yummy in my Tummy. Definitely signs for the 30 minute seating per customer. So not the place to sit in for hours as other bakeries allow.

Only had the hot Horlick here and it was delicious! Really hit the spot and brought back good childhood memories.

I really like this little bakery situated at the back of an indoor shopping corridor. It reminds me of shopping malls in China. You have to walk past a few booths of folks selling cell phones, etc. but when you get to back you’re in a nice and clean bakery with all the standard desserts, coffees/teas, buns and rolls. There are 4 small tables with 2 – 3 chairs each and the strict time limit of 30 minutes per customer. A case of full cakes and individual pastries on the left side along with a cooler with some Coke products. Around the corner to the right you’ll find the breads and rolls on a shelf as well as a freezer with some ice cream options. According to the menu they also have meat skewers for around $ 1.75 each and soft serve ice cream on a cone for $ 1.50. I will definitely return to try both for a lunch soon. As for today I had a fantastic sweet roll with a coffee tea mix all for $ 1.30. They were closing up and offered me 2 for 1 on certain pastries. They were also individually packaging some of the breads and moving them to a table at the entrance, presumably selling them at a discount to passersby. Staff was friendly and helped me with my questions about the drink menu and the contents of some rolls(which was only in Chinese). Yummy Yummy is a unique place in location and in the offerings they have that other Chinatown bakeries do not.
