Yemithsu Dure Sharashenidze

Yemithsu is very attentive to getting my hair color the correct match. She did spend a lot of time making sure I was happy with the outcome. She’s very personable, too.

I only write reviews for stellar people and Yemitsu is certainly one of them. I have been seeing her every 3 months for a keratin treatment. I’m very particular and there are so many choices in NYC so I am very happy to have found her. She is always courteous and has a bright cheery smile when I arrive at my appointment. Her rates are lovely and I would highly recommend for cuts, colours, or keratin treatment.

Yemithsu is a very dedicated and professional hairdresser, I’ve been using her services for almost 4 month and very satisfied with the results. I have a blond hair and it was really hard for me to find someone who can make the color even without using bleach which damages the hair very badly. Yemithsu used a color with keratin complex in it. My hair looked beautiful, the color was exactly what I asked for. She also uses Moroccan oil products for styling the hair which is the best line I’ve tried. Her prices are very good too. She also offered me to try the keratin treatment, because I got a frizzy hair. I will write a review about that too.

I had gotten a kgbdeals for highlights, haircut and blow dry. I have to say the expierance was horrible. I spoke to her on the phone and told what I was looking for and if she possibly had that color? She said yes and she would also give me a slight hair treatment as a freebie for an already discounted bargain. I told her it was ok I would just be happy with substituting for the hair treatment for highlighting my hair. Needless to say the whole event was horrible!!! I went there and she wanted to bleach my hair blonde and complained about the amount of work for the hair color we agreed upon! Then she continued that besides the color she offered me she had no color in stock! I was like are you serious ! I wasted one day of my life. She assured me that she would have the color tomorrow. The next day I got there and still same story she didn’t have the color. She made me wait five hours so she could grab the color five blocks away. Then when she came back she was complaining about what a great bargain I was getting and how the so called salon usually charged way more. No one forced her to put the deal on KGB you know! The end result was what I wanted because I refused to budge. Her complaints and lack of enthusiasm ruined the experience for me especially when I had bought this as a treat for myself. I only give her one star for getting my hair color right!!!

I don’t see myself going back to Yemithsu for my hair. Yes, she is very nice, but not reliable when it comes to customer service.
An hour before my appointment, she called to tell me that she was running behind and asked if I could come in two hours later. I said it was fine, as I understand that things do happen. However, I showed up to my rescheduled appointment exactly on time, and I ended up sitting in the waiting area for an extra two hours before she finally took me. This was very upsetting, as I had to rearrange the majority of my weekend: I had to move a very important meeting to the next day, which pushed back a scheduled work session to late in the evening, which then led to me having to cancel my plans to attend a music event for the next night!
Yemithsu did an okay job on my hair. I was very pleased with the way she styled it, but the color was not great. Since I didn’t love the color, she offered to redo it for free a few days later. I accepted the offer, as it was very generous, and again changed my plans for the next couple days. A few hours before my appointment, she calls me telling me she has to cancel, after I had already changed my own schedule for the week so that I could make time for this appointment!
Needless to say, I am not pleased. Yemithsu rescheduled my appointment at the last minute, made me wait for two hours in spite of the fact that I showed up on time, and then canceled my second appointment at the last minute. It’s too bad, because she is a lovely person and a good stylist. If she committed to her appointments and was more reliable with her customers, I would be happy to have her do my hair again. Instead, I will be getting my hair done elsewhere.
I wouldn’t recommend Yemithsu for coloring, but she will do a great job styling your hair. Just be prepared for a long wait and last minute cancellations if you decide to make an appointment with her, so it’s best to see her during your vacation week.

Yemithsu was the best! I had the Brazilian Keratin treatment done and I loved how my hair came out. I will definitely be returning for the treatment and to try out different services provided. Definitely referring Yemithsu to my family and friends. :)

I wish I could give ZERO stars. I had purchased a Groupon for a cut, blow dry and highlights package. I am requesting a refund because she cancelled me on New Years Eve 3 hours before my appointment. No apology, not offer for a service upgrade. Zero respect for my time. I can only wonder how she would have treated my hair.
YDS salon services is not a salon but actually some lady who rents a chair. She has no receptionist. She has limited hours. I first called her while she was with a client. She told me to call back. She did not offerto call me back. I called and left messages. No return call. When I finally got YDS on the phone we made an appointment for MOnday ¹⁄₃₁ at 2 pm. Then she calls me at 11am and leaves a message to cancel. No apology. No explanation. No offer to upgrade.
