Three Faiths Exhibit – NY Public Library

You have until February 27, 2011, to see the beautiful collection of religious documents relating to the three faiths based on Abraham: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.
Be sure to see the Scriptorium which has displays which you can touch and answer questions. There are videos which describe how parchment is made, calligraphy is done, and other interesting topics related to the making of an illuminated manuscript. The long light table allows to try out calligraphy using the markers to trace sample lettering (Hebrew, Gothic English, Arabic, and Greek).
Best of all, it’s all free.
Be sure to check your backpacks at the free coat check. Your bags will be checked upon entering and also on leaving the building.
