Purchased the tickets as a package($ 27 for 2 including one complementary drink each). This place had about 8 or so comedians, out of which only 2 were decent(1 every 10 minutes). The rest were terrible(and by that I mean you can hear crickets). I personally don’t plan to go back here(ever). The drinks were super expensive. You can easily spend another $ 30 — $ 40 per person on two basic(…really basic) drinks. If you are considering it, I would highly advice against it. There are tons of better comedy clubs in NYC.

Wow. Not sure where to start. Here is the short version. Don’t go here. Ever. This is New York City. There is no excuse to see a bad comedy show. If you want to see a train wreck unfold in front of you while getting a physical with a Tabasco laced spiked glove, this is your place. A friend of mine and I wanted to see some comedy and we were too lazy to make the journey to one of the known good clubs(thanks snow storm Nemo!). We rolled the dice on this place… and lost. First off, the tickets were $ 25 each, which at first glance wasn’t a deal breaker. Later we found out we should have thrown the cash out the window of a speeding cab. That would have been much more pleasurable. When we arrived, the aloof doorman ‘found’ our online booked reservation scratched on what looked like the back of someones garbage bill. Later we found out this multi-tasking gentleman was not only the doorman, but a poor man’s bouncer, the announcer, soundboard engineer(that’s a stretch), and administer of a 12 minute cringe inducing set. The comedians were a grab bag of head scratching, look at your partner to whisper«what the fuc& is going on?» type talent. To be fair, two out of the five were talented. Three of them were either trying new material, didn’t give a $hit, or were going through a public mental breakdown. The facility looks like it was cobbled together from left over furniture after closing the local Elks Lodge. Scrappy tables, chairs, and candles that someone clearly hijacked from their Grandmothers basement. The drinks were not surprisingly expensive and terrible. I always have a tough time with an $ 8 Budweiser, but I can swallow my sensibilities and make a go of it. The $ 9 shot glass of «Cabernet So-It-Came-From-A-Box» is a tougher pill to swallow. I’ve read other reviews, and I have to admit, the service wasn’t rude tonight. They were decent and doing their job. They may have a nip of Stockholm Syndrome, so I feel for them. That said, I would have appreciated knowing the gratuity was included in the bill. Like an idiot, I ended up tipping on top of it. I was so foggy from the Schizophrenia inducing comedy that I didn’t think to inspect the bill. My bad. I guess you win some and lose some. The best thing I can say is, my friend and I have a great story and will likely remember this night. That said, I want a do over.

I went for a late Sunday night show. There were about 8 comedians performing. The MC was great, 3 of the comedians were funny, the rest were mediocre except one who was just terrible. She didn’t interact with the audience, it was like she was reading from a joke book. That was forgivable because of course she needs to get seasoned. There was a male comedian named Ashley when we went, he was the funniest of all and I would go back again just to hear some more of his material! The price for the tickets was great, but the cost of the two drink minimum was steep. I realize that this is how these places make their money so I went in expecting to spend just as much as I did on the tickets on drinks. I didn’t like the mandatory 20% gratuity either. The layout of the place isn’t great, there is no backstage so all of the comedians come up the aisle to get to the stage. It’s a little tight in there so that makes things sort of uncomfortable.

1. Sale — Bought the tickets from the guy selling them in Times Square. They’re paid on commission, so they want to sell them to you. Usually you get good deals, as seen below. 2. Price — Bought the tickets from guys selling them on the streets for a marked down price of $ 30 to $ 40 for 3(2 friends and myself approx $ 13 /person). The price wasn’t bad, but the mandatory two drinks inside made the price a little more hefty, as all drinks range from $ 8-$ 10, unless you don’t want alcohol and then it’s $ 5. Your bill then adds a madatory 20% tip. Overall, the night in full came to about $ 37. 3. Entertainment — The Comedians are hit or miss. I went around New Years and there were some hilarious guys. 4 of the 7 had the audience in stitches. They enjoy mixing amateur and more seasoned in an every-other cycle. The MC is hilarious and warms up the crowd well. 4. Overall — I was laughing a lot, the service was good, and to me, it’s understandable that some comedy will fall flat. People have to work on their craft. Wish the price was less, but hey, it’s NYC. Would have gotten a 4 star had it been a bit cheaper.

What a great find! Thanks to a good friend having a groupon, I was introduced to this quaint comedy club. We didn’t know what to expect, but we hoped for the best. There were numerous acts and we could only get seats in the front row. Each comedian was very different as far their acts were concerned and also how they chose to pick on us for being in the front row. LOL But most were really funny and gritty and did a great job of involving the audience. We laughed a lot and would definitely return. The service was good as there is a 2 drink minimum. The atmosphere is completely no frills, but I think this is fitting as it’s usually places like this that help aspiring comics to get their start and it doesn’t distract from the comedians. The MC was pretty bad though. Either way, I highly recommend this off-the-beaten-path club is a great alternative to the expensive high profile comedy clubs that NY has to offer. Enjoy!

I admit it. I fell for the Living Social«deal» and got sucked into this scam like the 304 others who purchased it too. $ 20 buys you two tickets, two drinks(not specified that it’s TWO drinks, not FOUR drinks, two per person as interpreted), and two passes to return. As another Unilocaler stated, the two drink minimum per person, with the BOGO deal, should come out a lot less than it does. I understand they must charge tax on these ridiculously high prices, but the mandatory 20% gratuity was bogus considering the waitress was rude and interrupted the show to hawk us for more drinks and money. The owner/manager rudely called out the Unilocaler who exposed their sham, but I challenge that gratuity should be mandatory for mediocre service at a dive. So, my «deal» was two free $ 5 bottles of water. Club promoters around the city are handing out free passes to places with a better line up, so the $ 20 I paid for the deal actually covered the so-called«free» drinks. $ 40 total for water, beer, and few laughs. Can you say sucker? They had a large line up of mostly amateurs, and most were NOT that funny. A few good liners here and there, but over all not worth the visit. Corey, the host, was a lot funnier than the comedians. He had us roaring at times. The venue is small, but it was cozy. Comedy is hit or miss, but more clubs feature at least ONE very funny person to boost up the ametuers. This club didn’t seem to get that kind of draw, so I likely will not return.

Why did I go here? I purchased 2 tickets from living social for $ 20 which included admission and 2 drinks. I have been to comedy clubs before where admission is usually free or $ 5 with a 2 drink minimum(promoters hand them out ALL the time on the streets in midtown-man are they annoying). The only show available was the midnight one which sucked. I’ve seen some of the comics before and heard them replay the same jokes(comedy strip on the UES). The comics were so bad they kept asking us to drink more because barely anyone was laughing. Most of the show went towards asking where people were from and making fun of them. Next were the tiny watered down drinks. I ordered 2 alcoholic and 2 non-alcoholic drinks. Non alcoholic were $ 5, alcoholic were $ 8+. The coupon says that 2 alcoholic drinks were free but the cheaper, non-alcoholic drinks were taken off. Talk about false advertising. All together $ 20 for the tickets, $ 26 for the two drinks plus tip and tax = $ 46. Not worth is when you can get a deal at a better comedy club that can make you laugh. BTW they give you these raffle cards to win free tickets so they can call and harass you to come to another show. Dont give out your phone number and wait until comedy shows pull you in for free to fill up seats and get you to pay the 2 drink minimum.

I don’t see why people are one-starring this place like crazy. I found a LivingSocial deal, $ 20 for 2 tickets, 2 drinks, and 2 future tickets, so I tried it out. Prior to going I was super nervous it’d be a total dive because of all the reviews, but it wasn’t bad! The drinks are pricey(2 minimum) and some of the comedians were pretty lame, but I was drunk off my two seabreezes and there were enough funny comedians to save the day. Would I pay full-price for tickets and then two drinks per person? Probably not, but I had a good night with my voucher and plan on using my extra two tickets soon.

Complete tourist trap. I went here because I bought a living social deal thinking it would be a fun date. I should have checked Unilocal first! I was excited when I checked their website , but NONE of these comics were even at the show. Instead they rotated mediocre comics every 5 – 10 minutes. With introductions like«he is a regular» well I can be a regular too and have no comedic ability. This is false advertising and I am considering reporting them to the BBB. The venue was grimy, the drinks were overpriced and not very good. And there is a 2 drink minimum. As a native new yorker I am ashamed that this is what a tourist thinks of NYC. I think these are the guys you see hustling in times square being like«comedy show tonight» Conclusion — stay far away from this place. There are so many fun things to do in NYC and much better comedy clubs save your money and go elsewhere.

Avoid. Lame tourist trap comedy club. With my Dealfind coupon, it still cost me more than $ 75. Not worth it: mediocre talent, rude customer service, need I go on? Saw a Groupon offer today and it reminded how bad my experience was here. There are lots of better places – Stand-Up NY on the UWS is one and they often have discount coupon offers.

Fuck this place. Seriously, the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced at a comedy club. For starters, they kept getting all of our drinks mixed up(probably because they had one poor old chap servicing like 30 people at once). Secondly, when it came time to pay, they screwed up our bill, and after we informed them that we had used a groupon, the manager yells«Are you serious? What is WITH these people?»(And, I’m not paraphrasing, that is a direct quote). These people? The ones that used the groupon you advertised? It was so unprofessional, it was surreal. If you’re looking for a decent comedy club, stay away, even with their groupons. Oh, and the comedians were alright.

I went to the 8:30pm show on a Sunday night. After reading the rest of the negative Unilocal reviews, I was not expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised by how accommodating the staff was. One of my friends was running late, so I just left his name at the front with the check-in guy. The venue is a bit small and narrow. Make sure you grab a seat with a table in front of you so you can set your drinks down easily. The line up of comedians was hit or miss. The veteran comedians were great and knew how to work a crowd. However they also featured some amateur comedians that just weren’t funny. The worst was the last guy who increased the awkwardness level by talking about why no one is laughing. He should just have moved onto his next joke. Overall, I had an ok time. I would probably have been upset if I had to pay full price instead of having a Living Social deal for 2 tickets and 2 free drinks. I don’t think I’ll be coming back. Note– The sign outside the venue is the Broadway Comedy Club.

First off, I want to say my review is not about the comedians. This review is about the venue. So I went through a phase when I was addicted to buying deals on websites and during this time I bought a voucher on Living Social for 2 tickets and two drinks to a show here for $ 20. I decided I should use the voucher because, well, I didnt want it to go to waste and its therapy for me to use the deals and realize some are NOT actually deals. I came here on a Tuesday, maybe the show would have been better on a weekend, maybe not, I dont know, but there were only 10 people in the audience, making it super awkward because we all had to sit up front and all the comedians kept making fun of the audience and asking the same questions, making the room really awkward. Also, the two drink minimum… fine I understand, but their prices were ridiculous. $ 5 for a water? $ 8 for a Bud light? The Better Business Bureau should close down places like this. I ordered wine, which was $ 9 for a very small glass. If I had to guess, I would say the wine was probably Franzia from a cardboard box. You know, that wine that no one drinks unless they are at a frat house in college. And that whole box costs about $ 10, so think about how much they are making when they give glasses that are tiny. They would have been better off buying 2-buck-chuck at Trader Joes. My sister ordered chicken tenders, which came with fries, Ore-ida? I am not sure, but they were definitely frozen foods from the grocery store. Oh, and did I mention they add 18% gratuity to EVERY check. so this«Deal» was probably the worst and most expensive deal I have ever bought. I am sure the only way this place stays in business is because they charge such absurd amounts for drinks and force you to buy them.

Terrible place. My date had never been to a comedy club and I thought it’d be exciting to bring her to her first show. This place was horrendous. The comedians were waiters and waitresses, which I guess explains why the food there was a joke. The food tasted like fried crud you’d find at a carnival that was at least 2 days old. The servers were inconsistent, I asked for a napkin half an hour before i finally got it. Now onto the main part of my night out, the«comedians». They were absolutely AWFUL. I mean they were just not funny at all! I could’ve stayed home and watch cspan and probably would’ve gotten more of a laugh out of that then watching these guys just… not be funny. I am a huge fan of stand up comedy, and I do respect the courage it takes for them to go out there and try to entertain an entire audience, its very tough! But if you cant entertain 20 people, who specifically came to your establishment for the sole purpose of LAUGHING, you are in the wrong business. Yes I said 20 people, the place is so small, messy and unkempt. They should class it up a little. I paid 25 bucks for 2 people on zozi… I would not like to know what the real price is for a place like that, because its probably a total rip off. Check out Rodney Dangerfield’s comedy club on 1st ave and 60th street, or Gotham comedy club in Chelsea. Those places are awesome, and will leave your sides splitting. SAVEYOURMONEYPLEASE! do not come here

Most of the comedians were just straight up not funny at all. They also brought in a different comedian every 5 – 10 minutes, so you’d get the same«where are you guys from?» based jokes with each new comedian. Then when no one would laugh at their jokes they’d go into defensive attack mode or say things like, «I guess this crowd isn’t down with the non-PC jokes!» No – you just are not funny. Also the drinks were terrible. I was really upset that you were forced to spend at least $ 8 for anything with alcohol, then on top of that they added a gratuity that was at least 20% – for a party of two. I would not recommend this place at all.

A complete waste of my time. MC was funny, none of the six comedians that appeared had any sense of humor. Room was small, comedy was torture. I almost left in the middle of the show. You would be seriously foolish to try this place out. you’ve been warned !!!
