Many years ago a friend recommended it and I kept it in mind. This Fall we needed a tutor to help my son get ready to take the ISEE.
Janie answered promptly, recommended a tutor and was great at scheduling and re scheduling sessions.
The tutor? she was amazing and had a good rapport with him right away, gave him the support on the sessions plus material to cover on his own to review/​practice in between classes and taught him strategies that helped him tremendosusly the day of the actual test. He did great!
Moving forward I will definitely call Janie again if he needs support once he starts his new school.

The Study Shack was recommended to us a couple of years ago so I called Janie Teller and she immediately assessed our needs and sent a tutor to our home to prepare my daughter for the ISEE. Our tutor Erik was excellent, he was well prepared for each session, arrived on time and put our daughter through her paces for several weeks before the test. When it came time for her to take the actual ISEE, she was completely prepared for it and was rewarded for all her hard work. Janie sent a session review from Erik after each tutoring session so I was always knew what had been covered, areas that needed work etc. I called Janie again to prepare my oldest daughter for the ISEE when she decided to change high schools. She did not have a lot of time to prepare but Janie sent Melanie to our home and once again, we had a really positive experience. Melanie is the «smartest person» my daughter knows and guided my daughter through the exam prep. She too was rewarded by this experience with great results and a new school that she loves! Melanie continues to support our daughter in math and science and after each session we get an informative email about what she covered in her session. Melanie has liaised with my daughter’s math teacher at school so her tutoring sessions are completely in synch with the school curriculum. I have seen my daughter really soar under Melanie’s tutelage! Janie confirms every appointment with me, looks ahead to holiday time to check schedules and generally takes any work out of coordination with timely emails and contact. We have used other tutoring services in the past but the quality of tutors from The Study Shack far exceeds that of the other services we have used. If you want to supplement your child’s school work or if your child needs a little extra help in a particular subject, I would not hesitate to call Janie Teller and ask her to send one of her excellent tutors to help.
