What a wonderful service!
I always thought that junk is not a real problem till I had to get rid of some large items, living in the city it’s not even an option to take it down to the street… so I was looking for junk removal service in my area.
Like always I trusted Unilocal to find me the best solution so I started the search, I can tell you that there is many option out there but one was really standing out from all.
After having some weird conversation with providers I called junkluggers and right away I felt what everyone else is talking about! From the initial phone call to the appointment in my upper east side apt the customer service was so sincere and professional. Everything was so clearly explained to me from the process to the pricing to the difference using junkluggers.
Few things that made me book them:
1) They care about the landfill! This is the only service out there that will do anything to keep out planet clean and sustainable; they will try to recycle any material before dumping it.
2) They help others in need! Any item that can be donated will be to people in need, schools thrift store etc… And they will provide you with a receipt you can claim on tax season! Who does things like those?
3) The pricing: very competitive and transparent
4) Customer service approach as a 5 star hotel chain! This is not what you normally get in NYC from any industry.
At pickup day the guys came smiling and friendly, uniformed with a nice clean and shiny truck just like I saw on the picture, they went to work right away and were super-​efficient.
After pick up I got a follow up call to make sure I am 100% satisfy and to ask if I need anything else which shows they care about their customers not only the money… And 24 hours after my pick up I got the tax receipt just like was promised.
Overall this was the best experience of my life taking the garbage out!

Awesome service all around. I was able to get a same-​day pick up for a mattress/​bed/​frame from my 3^rd floor walk up. Everyone was super friendly and helpful, and we will definitely be using again and recommending to those looking for junk removal services.

Poor experience. The fee to remove two mattresses and a couch was higher than the competition, but I was willing to pay the price since they promised to try their hardest to donate the items. In fact, the guy who took the furniture said the couch (which was in good condition) «would absolutely» be accepted by the donation center. Fast forward two months and I had to call to get a status update and apparently none of my items got donated. This really makes me wonder whether they even attempted to donate the items.
In short — if you are fine with the price and aren’t expecting your items to be donated to charity, this service is fine. Otherwise it falls way short of expectations. I feel slightly scammed.
Update: Pete helped resolve the issue. Updating the review to 4 stars. Be sure to keep an eye on the donation status and follow up if you haven’t received it. Still a little overpriced compared to the competition.

I used the Junkluggers to clear out an office with 16 years of accumulated stuff. Although all major junk removal services provided an estimate within $ 100 of each other, something about the Junkluggers convinced me to use them. I am most pleased I did. They were timely, efficient and courteous. Highly recommended.

Very impressed. I called several services to haul away office furniture. All of them turned me down, but Junkluggers came through. Not only did they come through, but their manager is extremely flexible and diligent, and the workers are classy and professional. I especially liked the fact they went the extra mile not to use extra space on their trucks and thus not overcharge me.

Had a great experience– I was able to book without too much advance notice and it was a very easy process. The movers were so friendly and professional… would definitely recommend to anyone needing to get rid of furniture.

Excellent customer service. Everyone I spoke to was incredibly friendly, polite and clear with instructions, next steps, etc. They took care of the insurance and everything. They make it really, really easy. While they do charge for removal, it’s well worth it. The free services never call back, never arrange things with buildings. What’s the price of no headaches and no stress? It’s right where Junkluggers are priced. Highly recommend them.

I am responding to JunkLuggers latest posting (October 15, 2015) regarding my experience/​review this past August.
First of all, I don’t recall speaking to Zach C. and I don’t appreciate the implication that we recently spoke and came to some sort of amicable «agree to disagree» settelment.
I used an alternate service who actually came and were right on time.
In re-​reading the postings I now realize that Zach C. is simply trying to separate his franchise from the Queens JunkLuggers.
But this latest, misleading posting simply confirms that I would never use this company.

Excellent and well priced service. They were pleasant and timely as well. We will use them again in the future without hesitation!!!

The staff is well trained, polite and accommodating.
The only comment I have is related to the end of the job:
I wished they have asked me to go over each room, point to standing furnishing, mirrors and lights. It would also have been great if they asked me to open each closet and cabinet to check if it has been emptied. Unfortunately, there were a few things still left behind.

Terrible Customer Service Experience. Canceled my initial appointment with less than 12 hours notice. I told the representative nobody would be there on the date they wanted to reschedule, they said no problem they could get a key from the leasing office. I helped coordinate with the office staff to let them into the unit.
AFTER…they removed a MATTRESS and COFFEE TABLE, they call me to ask for a payment… FROM THE LOBBY, or they will put the items back, NICE GESTAPO TACTICS.
From all of the online forms, appointment scheduling, rescheduling and appointment confirmation there was never a discussion of price.
THEN…you tell me you want almost $ 400 because its nearly a half a truck… GET A BIGGER TRUCK.
Your customer service and business practices are appalling… Peace, Love and Junk???
Where’s the Love?

I have used junkuggers twice in the past 5 years. Once when I was moving into a new apartment and was throwing away old furniture, and another time when I was doing a spring cleaning and had boxes and boxes of stuff to donate. Both times, I was blown away by the customer service. They respond quickly to emails, they proactively reach out to confirm appointments/​details, the actual luggers are so nice and very quick. And according to what they told me on the phone, they literally take everything except hazardous materials. I found their prices to be reasonable. Overall, I would absolutely use them again and would recommend them to anyone.

If you need movers or junk removal, this is the company to hire! I highly recommend their services. I hired Junkluggers to remove 2 pieces of furniture and 15 bags of clothes from my apartment. This company went above and beyond.
The day before I tried hiring Hunks Hauling Junk (DON’T DO IT), who were very rude and never showed up. I was in a bit of a rush to get these items out of my apartment because I’m in the middle of move, so I quickly booked Junkluggers at the last minute. Right away, I knew that they were going to be much better at their jobs. Customer service called to confirm and give me information about the services and pricing. They were very helpful and polite on the phone.
The next day, my movers called right on time and showed up right on time. The two guys were very friendly, polite, and quick to get the job done. I mean they were in and out in 30 minutes. It was very impressive. The price was very fair, and I’m so grateful for Junkluggers for getting the job done so last minute, efficiently, quickly, and politely.

The entire process was a breeze, from the quick response to my initial email to the actual pickup. Scheduling was easy and they were able to come early this morning (on a Sunday). The two guys, Rayshawn and Jared, were courteous and professional and insanely quick. They got 2 wall units, a couch and stationary bike out and on the truck in under 10 minutes. I felt so bad for then because it was so hot out this morning and they had to lift this heavy stuff. They gave me an quote that was slightly higher than the original quote I received via email once they saw the actual size of the units but it was still quite affordable for me since my husband and I are physically unable to carry heavy objects. Will ABSOLUTELY use again and recommend to friends.

They were timely, friendly and I really appreciate that they are committed to donating and recycling as much as possible. It made what seemed an enormous job manageable!

Let me start by saying I rarely write reviews but I was extremely please with the service provided by Junk Luggers. As an interior designer I am constantly dealing with different movers, and construction workers and was blown away by the level of customer service provided by the «Luggers» Fortune and Kyle.
They arrived with a friendly smile and we extremely efficient everything was moved within the first 15 minutes except for one Refrigerator which we then determined had actually been built in to the room. After removing the doors and still not fitting they immediately took it upon themselves to go out to the truck, get a sledgehammer and bang the thing apart so it would fit through the door frame. While most movers wouldn’t do this, they were dedicated to making it happen and getting the job done. (we need more people like them in this business!)
Oh, and did I mention that after this was all through they insisted on cleaning up the mess that the demo had caused — totally not there job but they did it anyways.
The job was in an office and everyone the Fortune and Kyle interacted with only had great things to say about them — just overall good energy and great work!
