Staples Copy and Print Shop

Went to get some photocopies. It is a very small store. One of the staff member seemed really rude but she was helpful. She helped us get photocopies. When I was looking for envelopes she mentioned that «ma’am you cannot walk around this area» — Wait! What? Yep she said that. Anyways when I went to the counter the other lady seemed pretty normal.

This staples came up under a search for notary services. When I called the store, I waited for a long time for the staff to confirm they offered notary services but only at a Later time. I waited until they indicated to visit the store only to discover they do not have notary services. Frustrating and disappointing.

I used to like this Staples, but no more. Perhaps the management has changed. I certainly don’t find them as friendly, or as reliable as a previous staff.
The last time I was there, their B&W copier printed too lightly. Mind you, I’d printed the SAME document in color –and it was fine. When I brought this to their attention, I was told that it was my fault. When I showed them that it was the copier (since the color printer did a good job) they said they needed my credit card to redo the job.
Arrgghhh!!!
I just wanted to make my appointment on time. They should have just taken the color copy and made the B&W copies from there. It would have saved time, and I wouldn’t have worried about waiting days for a small refund on my credit card.
And who wants their credit card floating around ANY store these days, anyway? I just left and don’t intend to return. I go to Staples for efficiency, not a headache.

First, I have to say the staff here is awesome. Both times I’ve been in to use the computer, they’ve been very helpful. The store is smaller, which means they don’t have as great a selection as others in the chain, but for the basics, they’re fine. Disappointed there is no paper recycling facility for my erroneous printouts.

Good Staples location… small with the essentials. Nice staff. Near many businesses, it’s great for that last minute thing that you may need without needing to do a full office supply order.

I had extremely time sensitive material, I needed scanned and synced onto a CD (which I brought in with me)
The women at the counter was in no rush to help, even though the store had no more them three or four customer… I had to call her over as ask her about their scanning prices.
First let’s start with the price… she tells me each page is 25cents to scan plus a $ 9.95 fee for actually scanning process (minus cd which she did not provide) then she told me each unusual size page is $ 1.25… the fee honestly shocked me a little, so I asked her a second time to which she suggested that I run over to the FedEx where it is a self-​serve and apparently cheaper.
I don’t have time to be running around the city… hoping to find a cheaper price.
Next she takes all my images and the scanning begins… and lasts… and lasts, I’m talking only 20 scans here. Seriously how long does it take to scan each paper?
But that’s not the worst part, finally after paying $ 20 and walking out with my own cd, I get a chance to look at them on my own computer.
EVERY SINGLE PAGE is lopsided, going off the corner, missing a little at the top or the bottom (these where work related images… samples to be sent out to a company) completely unprofessional!

I had to sit and edit every single image just because, the one job — of making copies this girl/​women can’t handle… I understand you may hate your job but there are no excuses for doing such an unacceptable job at something so simple.

This was perhaps the worst experience I’ve ever had at a copy shop.
I had a very basic print job – single-​sided printing in color on archival paper. I have to say that I was at first floored at how I had to resort to resume paper as the only option for acid-​free paper, when this is supposedly a print shop with an entire back room with reams of paper. I put in the order, stipulating that I wanted some sort of indication when the printing was ready, which I never got; I had to call in to check. The prints were done in black and white, not color, and because I needed the prints ASAP, I had to wait for a half-​hour in the store while they were printed. The sales associate I dealt with simply tossed out the black-​and-​white copies without asking if I could use them (frankly, I could have – such a waste otherwise). As I mentioned earlier, I had to resort to resume paper because it was the only acid-​free option around, and I knew what the paper felt and looked like. When I finally did get the prints and I checked them out, there were other, random sheets of mismatched paper that were printed on, instead. Kind of ridiculous, considering that I apparently purchased the only archival paper in the place – how am I to know that this random paper is also archival? Incredibly unbelievable, especially for the price I paid for the prints and paper. I don’t understand how a «copy» and «print» shop can botch up an extremely simple print job.
The magnitude of failure is staggering and, frankly, infuriating. Just don’t do it. Just. Don’t.

For what this place is, it excels. More than that, the service is outrageously wonderful, vaulting this copy and print shop above virtually all others in this busy city.
I walked in here on a Friday evening when there were plenty of other needy a-​holes vying for space and attention in the characteristically small space.
I had a gift card and a thumb drive with 24 PDF files of color award certificates to print. A man named Loni helped me immediately, walking out from behind the counter and leading me to the shelf where different certificate types were displayed. Then, he stayed with me, helping me weigh the pros and cons of each. This is huge, folks.
We determined that I should do a test print to see if the content of the awards would fit within the fancy filigreed borders. There was only one problem; I hadn’t brought my wallet (just a measure to avoid buying junk food during the work day), and the computer stations didn’t process gift cards. At this point, a girl named Arlenys came over with a courtesy card that would count the time and number of prints so that I could pay later with my gift card.
The B&W test print revealed that the certificate stationary with borders wouldn’t do. So, Loni came back onto the scene, consulting the manager (who for some reason was in a nice black leather jacket over a well fitting black t-​shirt, but whatever, he was doin’ his job) to find the heaviest weight, nicest off-​white 8.5×11″ paper they had in stock. Unfortunately, I had to buy a whole pack of these papers, but it was 6 bucks or so.
Arlenys met me back at the printer, and I got to work. She literally went to the printer EACH TIME I PRINTED, bringing the print to me and helping me count to make sure I got them all done. When the courtesy card ran out, she whipped up another one so I could print the remaining files. Accidentally, some of the PDF files had been two pages long (with an extra blank page), meaning that the final tab was inflated. Arlenys worked her magic to take those charges away, then apologized profusely when she computed the tax (since I was doing this for a non-​profit and qualified for tax-​free printing). I told her please not to worry!
Mind you, while all this was going on, there were people in line to buy stuff, and another dude at the printing station right next to me with delusions of executive grandeur, barking at whomever would hear him that he «had to get this done, stat, can you do that??» Yet, the staff MULTI-​TASKED, even giving this d-​bag the time of day while never making me feel abandoned or forgotten.
By the end, I was completely in awe of the experience I’d had, and gave my effusive thanks. She quietly let me know that I could fill out a survey online and mention her name. I will do that. AND I am writing loud and clear right here on Unilocal that if you are a clueless, bumbling, busy, panicking person with printing to do and want start-​to-​finish handholding by kind and gentle humans who treat you like a human, look no further than this specific branch.

There is a fantastic employee at this Staples Copy and Print shop named Daniel who is super helpful, polite, and informed about the products they sell. Two times this week Daniel has really saved me. On my first visit this past Monday, Daniel helped me print out resumes here from their computers on their resume paper and then helped me cut them to fit the 8×10 headshot photos that Staples also printed up for me. Very kind and very helpful!
Yesterday I went in and knew I needed Epson ink but wasn’t sure what number of the ink cartridge was that I needed so Daniel helped me figure it out! And he was right! I have never had such excellent service at another Staples before and Kinkos’s has always been an awful, painful experience with employees who act like they want to be there less than you do.
What a wonderful experience I had all thanks to Daniel. Everyone could take a lesson from this man on how to excel at your job, take pride in what you do and actually service the customers need.
I will be back and hope that Daniel is there to help again!

I am not crafty, which means I can’t print anything correctly, regardless of what I do.
I uploaded a project to this Copy & Print Shop, and 3 hours later they had it all set and ready to go. I brought it home, and realized it wasn’t right. The file converted in such a way that moved the spacing all out of whack.
These guys fixed the error while I waited, and didn’t charge me any extra for the do-​over. I definitely expected to haggle over paying for the 2^nd printing, but it wasn’t an issue at all.
I’ll definitely use these guys again. They made everything work, and it was way less stressful than I expected.

YOU SUCK STAPLES!!!
two months ago I ordered a notary stamp, paid for it, went back a few weeks later and they lost it. Supposedly they re-​ordered it. NOPE. Calling is a pain in the arse, they put you on hold, they do not know what you are talking about, the Management keep promising to handle this, and guess what 2 MONTHS. Nothing. Ive given up, it was $ 20 wtf do you do when you have no control?
Ive been lazy about going over there because my office moved to the east side and I am obviously busy dealing with MOVING and other stuff, and they shouldn’t have LOST MY ORDER in the first place.
