Cashiers here have no idea what theyre doing. Everytime I go here I have a problem with using coupons. The cashier tried to tell me I can only use one coupon each time she rings me up. Um huh? Its one coupon per item. She tried to convince me its one coupon each time she rings me up. Completely wrong, and the cashier next to her agreed with her. Suggestion to the manager: teach your cashiers the different between the words«transaction» and«purchase»!!!

when life hands you«rites» you make«rite aids” — ummm no. lol seewhatididthere. standard chain pharmacy/retail/convenience/etc. store. fairly large Rite Aid for ABC City. hasn’t seen a real makeover for a while, so still has that old school feel. standard set up of aisles, products, and pharmacy. i will say this Rite Aid has come a long way from when i first walked in years ago. it used to look like a bomb hit it – shelves dishelved, long lines, customers and employees genuinely pissed, etc. these days the aisles feel wider and cleaner. the shelves are more organized, the lines have shortened a tiny bit, and the new lineup of employees seem happier. the problem is the lines still pile up. they have like 5 – 6 cashier stations but only have 2 people working those stations max even if the line piles up to 15 – 20 deep. to me, there are a lot of employees walking around this Rite Aid not really doing anything. jump on a register – cut that line down yo. the other challenge is they offer services like money orders and other rando solutions that are great for locals but also pile up the line bc they are time intensive versus just scanning items and someone paying. the product selection can be crappy. stuff is inconsistently in stock. stuff that goes on-sale is typically bad quality goods that they are trying to flush out. brand name items that do go on-sale look like they are priced-reduced because the packaging is dirty or damaged. gross. is there some issue with loading products here bc a lot of items have dirty packaging? staff has better attitudes than before and try to move lines quickly, but they always seems swamped. i can’t tell if this is a management issue, a staff morale issue, or there are too many products and services to purchase. i don’t use the pharmacy here for anything – not because they are bad or anything. judging from the store i would say they are okay. they seem to service a lot of locals in the ABCD neighborhood which is good. however i have seen lines pile up at the pharmacy as well. the customer base is totally local as who would come to Avenue D for their retail pharmacy and convenience store needs. why do i go there? the candy, soda and junk food selection is pretty much on point and constantly running sales… which i love… mmmm red vine and twizzlers! however the junk food selection being so good is probably debilitating local’s respective healths and lifestyles since Rite Aid opened in this area. oh well the circle of life/destruction continues via processed sugar, corn syrup, artificial flavors, etc. zzz so yeah Rite Aid is A-okay for a neighborhood pharmacy, but this place is dying a slow death as a newer Duane Reade opened 6 blocks down. drops mic so i can skateboard around this joint via a shopping cart. i out. zzz

I love this Rite-Aid. Yes, the line tends to be long the majority of the time but unless I’m in a rush it doesn’t bother me. I always get pretty decent prices on household necessities such as toiletries, toothpaste, feminine products, shampoo, soap, etc. Today alone I saved over twenty dollars by using my Rite-Aid points card. Can’t beat that!

«Wrong Aid.» As others mentioned, check out lines are almost always guaranteed to be super long, unless you happen to visit at just the right time of day on a weekday morning. So poorly managed. There’ll be a dozen people on line, each customer takes their time at the register, and meanwhile other workers busy stocking shelves could easily help out on register to relieve the traffic. My secret is the same as Unilocaler Erica H wrote about in her review: head to the pharmacy, which is usually free or only serving one customer; that quickly gets me out of the store. The cashiers themselves are almost always cheery and friendly, which I find shocking in light of the store’s poor management. Supposedly, now that the building where it resides and its air rights have been purchased, this Rite Aid is moving a few blocks north while a new residential building(with street retail) is built at the site. Then the Rite Aid will return to a renovated space. When this is happening, or the fate of this Rite Aid, seems to remain an open question for now. I’m not emotionally invested in this place by any means, so if it goes forever, good riddance. Personally I’m anxiously awaiting the opening of the new DR on Houston and D in the retail level of the new Adele rental building. This particular Avenue D Rite Aid can be just too much of a head-ache maker.

This Rite-Aid is closest to where I live; it’s great for the necessities of day-to-day life, since it’s large and well-stocked. They also have a pharmacy department. Importantly, after Hurricane Sandy, the manager reached out to the community – okay, a mailing list, I know – and said he wanted the store to be there for people. [Cue ominous music] However, the real estate it sits on is prime waterfront, and the days of the store may be numbered.

Pretty much the worst rite aid in THEWORLD!!! Theres always just one cashier and about 20 people(no exaggeration) in line. I tend to walk back and check out at the pharmacy because I always spend about 25min in line when it takes me 2 min to pick out what I actually wanna buy! If the place wasnt so close to my house, I would never go in, but…:sigh:…I am a woman of convenience.

Their shelves are always half empty– they never seem to restock. The items are never organized so some times difficult to find anything. There is always a long line because only one counter is open and the person at the counter always take forever. If it wasn’t for the fact that it’s the only drug store close to my apartment, I would not even go there.
