Excelente, me encantó la clase lo recomiendo al máximo, el instructor es súper paciente, chistoso y dinámico.

I’ve been enjoying to take salsa lessons here Rhythmic Dance Group! It’s very different from one I used to go to. Not only for steps or patterns, Jonathan teaches how to move with music and rhyme which is fundamental but no one explained so that well. Also assistant teacher supports all the steps which helps me a lot. You will get to be clear what you doing! Also I like it’s intimate atmosphere… I’m looking forward to myself to become a better dancer!

For your beginner salsa class, look no further. I’m sure you found the place online, you’re wondering; is this salsa class any good? The price tag is under $ 10 per class, can it possibly be decent?
Answer: Yes, definitely enjoyable! Will be back.
The class was led by Jonathan (I think) who is a fun guy who really seems to love his salsa. It’s hosted inside Bally’s gym so the facility is actually quite nice. I was very impressed for the price! Look, I’m an absolute beginner so here’s what matters to me; clean usable space, good atmosphere, good location, and basic competence.
If you’re an advanced salsa dancer, maybe look elsewhere. Also, if you want a strictly disciplined place that values technique over fun, maybe look elsewhere.
However, for your average salsa beginner, look no further.

What a find. I’ve taken a lot of beginner dance classes over the years and Jonathan breaks Latin dances down in a way that I’ve never experienced before. And it’s fantastic! The way salsa is usually taught, you become completely dependent on someone shouting out the counts to you, but Jonathan teaches you how to listen for elements of the music like the conga and the clave so that you actually learn to dance with the MUSIC. How novel.
Thanks to Jonathan I was finally able to make the switch over from dancing on one to dancing on two. For those who don’t know what that means, it basically means I will no longer be stepping on all my dance partners toes anymore in New York. He succeeded where all other dance studios in NYC failed.
Finally, Jonathan is passionate about what he does, he’ll launch into long spiels about the history and roots of the dance in the middle of class. Even though he clearly takes the dance seriously, he still manages to make the classes a lot of fun and teach to a very mixed level group. And in the beginning he seemed to be giving away the classes for free… it’s only a matter of time before his prices go up. Take advantage while you can!

I purchased a $ 19 for 20 classes deal, and it has been a very good investment. Jonathan is super nice and super knowledgeable. Jonathan starts and ends class on time. I do feel though that the class could move a little faster and more moves can be taught in the hour time. Even though I’ve never danced salsa before starting these classes, I felt that beginners wasn’t challenging enough (especially if you have a dance background). I would recommend challenging yourself with the intermediate class if you have some dance background and understand the salsa basics. I tried intermediate & didn’t regret it.
The bachata class is great, even though I’m dominican and came out of the womb dancing bachata. I learned new moves and some new turns. Would definitely recommend!
