They do great work and are lovely people! For personal, one-on-one service downtown, they’re a great option. They will take the time to work with you and make sure you’re happy with the result. As an artist, I can definitely recommend them.

I came into this shop on a Sunday after buying a set of 4 prints online. This was my first time getting pictures framed, and the store owner was so helpful showing me different types of frames, mats, and helping me pick what would best showcase the prints. It was also very reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend this store to anyone!

Cool little framing shop that also sells art. Some of the art is unique and seems like they get limited additions. I fell in love with a few horse pictures but they were a bit out of my range.

DONOTGOHERE!!! I used this place because they had the best reviews but clearly misjudged the«authentic» comments. They damaged my valuable art(documented, appraised, and valued at $ 4500 and devalued by at least $ 1000 on the collector market) by putting a HOLE through the center of it – a 160 year old hand-painted original John James Audubon lithograph print about 22×36″. Clearly knowing the value of the piece,(because I discussed with the manager at length when I arrived), they tried to hide the damage from me upon pick up. Against better judgement and finding the damage at home when fully unwrapped, I called the next day and the owner mysteriously took a 3 week«vacation». When I finally was able to talk to ‘Hashmat’, the owner, he was incredibly rude, stating the damage that clearly happened in his shop was my fault and offered no resolution(despite the piece being reviewed with his manager at drop off in excellent condition and later found damaged with a blatant hole on the piece INSIDETHEFRAME. On top of yelling at me of how I was wrong, the owner practically said my $ 240 was nothing to him and he couldn’t care less about one customer. Highlights: –When dropping off my art, the manager blatantly ignored my request to protect the work in front of me – removing it from the bubble wrap and cardboard(still wrapped in matboard backing and clear plastic mylar for dust protection) –Upon pick up, a different guy(not the manager) hastily gave me the package and acted pissed and extremely rude when I asked to open it to confirmation the piece and quality. Without letting me take it out of the bubble wrap, he threw it back in the box and taped it up pushing me out of the door(with an hour to go before closing!) – NOTE: this is a $ 4500 piece, and the guy didnt even ask for any form of identification! –As soon as I noticed the hole(immediately upon unwrapping), I proceeded to call 4x in the first week alone because the same rude guy said I had to speak to the owner but he was never around because he was on «vacation». So wheres the manager?! –Week three, after two weeks of useless convo with the shmuck and finally the manager who offered no solution, the owner finally calls me with fake sincerity only to tell me that the damage was my fault because there was damage on the mylar that wrapped the piece on drop off – damage that clearly happened after I left because I spent 20 min discussing the piece with the manager and reviewing the condition at length to avoid this very problem. –All I asked for was a $ 240 refund on my frame because of their damage, NOT the value of art they destroyed worth at least $ 1000 of the $ 4500 value. He proceeded to yell at me that I don’t know how to look at art, and that I must have caused the damage – all defense. He further accused me trying to cheat him out of his business and that he couldn’t care less about losing a customer because he wasnt going to lose business without proof(which I have from the auction house I just purchased the piece from and he refused to accept). THEBESTPART – He tells me customers art gets damaged all the time and if he gave them all refunds he would be out of business. Thats a great business model. Destroy valuable art and prey on people’s busy lives as protection. For the record, I have worked in art galleries and auction houses for my entire working career. I know how to handle and examine artwork. This guy and his careless employees clearly do not. They are cheap, careless, and incredibly rude people and whatever $ 2 stuff the other reviewers brought there clearly wasnt worth a second look on pick up. If you have art worth money, DONTGOHERE.

Just got a cool piece of original poster art from 1978 framed here. I met Hasmat and I bought a $ 75 gift certificate(for $ 50 on Unilocal)… $ 50 for a large poster(2′ X 3′) framed was at least 50 bucks cheaper than the other places around town. PLus the store is pretty and has lots of cool original and print art to look at. It’s a nice place to stop by for custom service with a smile :) cheers.

I recently had a vintage poster framed by Paintbox — they did a wonderful job in a very short time at an extremely reasonable price. I couldn’t ask for more. The staff are also incredibly friendly, courteous, and helpful. I can’t recommend this store & its staff highly enough.

A great local family run place. I brought in a print to get framed and ended up speaking with the owner Hashmat for about 10 minutes. Paintbox has been in the neighborhood for 17 years! The prices are completely reasonable because he is able to construct the frames locally and pass on the cost savings to his patrons. He also has the most recent machinery to cut the matting in house. It is great to be able to support a place that has the passion and history that Paintbox does. I will bring all of my photography to Paintbox to get framed and I hope you do too!

On time, economical, and friendly. They framed a vintage sign for my office. It came out great. I’d definitely return for framing needs.
