Next Cleaners

Next did a fantastic job cleaning my delicate silk shantung drapes. No small job. Drapes are a dust magnet and mine were in need of thorough cleaning. I priced them out at a few places and Next did a great job for a fraction of what Madam Paulette or in home drapery cleaners quoted. They delivered them to me a day ahead of schedule.

I moved into the area a while ago and was trying to find a good dry cleaner. I started becoming more aware of the harsh chemicals used and thought a green dry cleaner would be the best bet. I’ve always been very happy with next. They pick up and drop off, clothes are clean.
Recently I was cleaning out my closet and realized a very expensive vest of mine was gone. I had it dry cleaned in May but hadn’t worn it since. It was a very frustrating experience realizing this but Next worked with me and it turned out it was in the lost and found warehouse. Annoying this happened but glad we found it 4 months after the fact. I thought I would stop using them after this but they were pleasant, helpful, and found it, so I’ll continue to.

This place is awesome!!! I moved to NY a few months ago and was looking for a cleaner like this. The prices are very reasonable and affordable. They will pick up and drop off your laundry in 24 hours which is very convenient for me. Customer service is superb. The girl at the front desk is the most happy, sweetest girl. I believe her name is Claudia always greets you with a smile and always ready to help you with any questions you may have. An overall great business!

I recently took several silk blouses to Next Cleaners to be dry cleaned. They had sweat and deodorant stains on them, which I was concerned would not come out. I was extremely happy when I picked them up to see that the stains were gone. The woman in the front was also very helpful and friendly, which is a big plus factor for me. The great service and personnel, plus the fact that they offer same day service, gives me every reason to return to Next Cleaners for my laundering.

Love this place! They will pick up and drop off your laundry in 24 hours. The dry cleaning is reasonable and they are up front about what they can do with certain stains and materials.
By far the best part of this place is the woman who works there/​runs it. I’m embarassed I don’t know her name! She’s so kind, she remembers everyone, and she gets you your clothes on time!
I see a lot of complaints about the online service — I have to say I’ve never used it. I highly recommend just calling or walking in; you will get good service!

I was very excited to find Next Cleaners (
), a green company that offered pickup and delivery services. It was a short-​lived moment. Problems begin almost from the beginning.
First, I attempted to complete the new member form, only to find that I could not complete the online process because my home zip code (billing zip) was not recognizable as one of the delivery/​pickup locations. I had to fake it by providing my work zip code.
I set my laundered shirt preferences to Box/​Medium, and placed my first order on June 6, 2013 and received an order number online. The deal was that someone would contact me regarding pick up the next day (per their website.)
No calls on the following day, so I decided to give it another day. Day three — I called the company and left a message. A representative of the local store called to apologize and assured me that someone would come to my office to pick up my order.
It happened! the driver appeared with a bag for my clothing. As I put my 6 — 8 items in the bag he complained that he worried about getting a parking ticket (is that my problem?). He gave me an Express Bag receipt and took the bag with the clothes. Okay, a little glitch. When reviewing the ticket I notice that the preferences for laundered shirts are «no starch and hangers». Huh? This is not what I indicated online under Laundered Shirt Preferences.
The company gives a suggested window of 2 — 4 days for dry-​cleaned or laundered items to be delivered. Seven business days go by, I am getting nervous. I sent an email to customer service on June 17^th; 6 days after my clothes were taken by the driver. Three days later and no response.
I called customer service on June 18. No one was available. No one had called me back by the next morning, so I called again. This time I got a service rep who promised to find my order. Within 2 hours I got a called from another representative, apologizing for the delay and promising that my dry-​cleaning would be delivered between 9 and 10 the next day.
Next day, 10:52. I have no clothes. I did receive a call from a representative of Next Cleaners asking for my credit card number. The number is on file — a part of the customer profile that I filled out. Apparently no one reads that member profile since: a) they didn’t pick up my order as scheduled, b) my laundered shirt preferences were incorrect on the bag ticket, and c) they have no idea how I should pay.
Later that morning my dry cleaning arrived. The shirts were not boxed and starched as ordered. I called the company, they picked up the shirts the next day, with a promise that they would be returned on the following Monday.
Monday came and went — no shirts. Tuesday, the shirts were delivered, along with a bill for $ 13.75. I’ve placed yet another call to the company about the charges and have already filed a dispute complaint with my credit card vendor.
Kudos, great that they (Next Cleaners) are green but customer service is zilch. I’ve yet to look in the bag to see if the shirts delivered belong to me, or to some poor person wondering where their clothes are.
My recommendation: Do not do business with this company. I’m going to try Hamperville. It couldn’t be any worse than the service provided by Next Cleaners.

Bottom line — if you want any sort of customer service, or deliver and picks on schedule — avoid like the plague:
I ordered a pick up from them online — It was scheduled for Monday before 2 (my doorman leaves at 2). They didn’t show up. Tuesday they show up — after a few phone calls.
The clothes get cleaned.
They are scheduled to deliver before 2PM on friday (my doorman leaves at 2). — I’ve got an event that night that the clothes are needed for. At 2:30 I get a call — saying they are running late. Stuck in the house for hours waiting for them. No delivery by 6.
They offer to deliver next week on Monday. I said sure — give me an exact time — 8−9AM because I’m sick of waiting for these bums to show up. They show at 1PM Monday and ask for payment.
No way am I paying them, or using them ever again. Avoid.
