Dealing with brokers or agents can be a nightmare… literally making you lose hope in humanity. I went through several bunches who for some reason have a of entitlement and impatience surrounding them — seems to be common in this industry. HOWEVER, I had the pleasure of working with Min Kim of NestSeekers to find my apartment and everything that goes along with that process… once I found him it was like I already won. From our first interaction he was detailed, eloquent, and thorough. He is transparent and easy to get a hold of. He stayed on top of the rare listings that came up meeting our strict criteria and we ended up finding a great place after a couple months of looking. I just signed the lease a couple of days ago!
Min was also punctual and sharp dressed. I felt like a boss each time we met up to see a new place. Never pressuring or making me feel uncomfortable in any way, it was more like he really did just want to help me find the right place and he put in the effort to do so. Mission accomplished. Thanks Min!

Dylan Eckhardt, a broker at NestSeekers in BridgeHampton rented our house for the winter.
He does not pay his rent, or the utility bills. I would strongly advise no one use this broker… it’s been the first bad experience we have ever had renting and we are now evicting him. There are many brokers and real estate companies in the Hamptons and I would stay away from Nestseekers… this is the quality
of person they employ.

Worked with Min Kim to find my new apartment. He did not disappoint, worked hard to negotiate and make the deal happen. Always responded quickly to my questions and kept me updated throughout the process. Would recommend him to anyone looking for a new place.

I used Nestseekers and particularly Howard Henzel both to find my apartment and to rent out. Howard was extremely nice, friendly, professional and completely understood my needs. Both times he delivered exactly what I was looking for. I will definitely use them in the future.

After working with Howard he set a standard that few are capable of achieving. That experience led to Howard working with my firm who buys off market luxury hotels and Class A office buildings on a global basis.
I highly recommend Howard for and and all of your real estate needs.

This review is for Gerald Magpily at Nestseekers. I met Gerald when inquiring about a rental listing on the Nest Seeker website. He was very prompt in responding and setting up a time to view the apartment. This first apartment was not something I was looking for. However, Gerald on understanding my requirements showed me a few more apartments over the next two days. I whittled down my final choices to three, and Gerald setup second viewings for the same three again so I could decide on one. Every apartment viewing was at the exact time that we had agreed on before, no delays. Gerald helped with the apartment application process as well: clarifications about documentation and following up with the leasing office to get the final approval and setup a lease signing appointment. The entire process took about two weeks, and Gerald was a great help through out the entire period.

This review goes to Gerald Magpily at Nestseekers. I came across Gerald on my apartment searching process. Gerald was very professional, nice, responsible and client oriented. This is my first time dealing with brokers, and Gerald immediately stood out compared to other brokers I saw during my apartment searching experience. Not only did he contact supers before our visit, he also double checked the room beforehand to make sure it actually meets my needs. I would totally recommend him as your adviser if you are thinking of buying or renting. On a scale of 10, I would give Gerald a 10.

This review is for Dominick Dellaratta from Nest Seekers International in West Village. I just arrived in New York in August from France and i needed to find an apartment really fast around Chelsea and West Village. I thought it was going to be hard especially because of the language it was difficult to understand everything but He was really friendly and reassuring. We corresponded by email before i arrived and the first days that i was here he found a really nice furnished apartment in Chelsea. We met and this place was this only one but my favorite! He was really efficient all was set up the first week that i arrived.
Few months after i needed to move out and i asked him again for his help. Same process he found a new apartment quickly and that corresponded exactly with what i was asking for. It couldn’t be easier. Even for other things like setting electricty and cable he was really helpful.
I’m really thanksful to have met someone like that to help me in my new life in this big city.

Excruciatingly awful experience with Chris Keidel at Nestseekers. Smooth-​talking at first, he turned out to be extremely incompetent, and his lack of knowledge led to significant delays in the entire process of renting an apartment. It was an extremely stressful process.
When we verbalized our frustration regarding how we was handling things, he became even more unprofessional, and simply refused to answer questions. At one point he physically walked away from me when I was in the middle of asking a question. So, we were forced to rely on the experience and generosity of the (far more competent) person he was co-​broking with (Jay Katz, Corcoran) in order to get the information we needed to keep the rental process moving forward. Jay really deserved the entire broker’s fee; it’s hard to fathom that Chris still gets paid despite his incompetence and lack of professionalism.
The last email I received from Chris was on December 18^th, 2014. Thanks to Jay’s efforts, we were able to move in on January 16, 2015. That is: I didn’t hear from the broker we paid an astronomical amount of money to for an entire month. We received NO word from him even after we moved into the apartment.
Utterly shameful. Never again would I work with Nestseekers.

This review is for Ivy at Nestseekers. Absolutely fantastic – pleasant, creatively solution-​focused, well-​connected, timely and always eyes-​on-​the-​prize helpful. She does research for things she doesn’t know and follows thru/​up with tasks she takes on, freely and as a heavy-​hitter, from small to large. She stayed with our family in a tough drawn-​out 6 month+ search for a replacement property where we saw over 50 properties and got into a few transactions and down a few roads that needed extreme patience, finesse and savvy – all of which Ivy provided with aplomb.
She handled the multiple involved parties, located all over the US and the world, with patience, humor and grace – forwarding to me texts my older father mistakenly sent her cell phone; responding to emails on weekends, nights, late nights; and answering all questions. Her turn around time averaged well under 4 hrs for all inquiries and tasks, including getting deal sheets in in a timely way for bidding wars/Best&Finals; getting bids in on properties that was closing in on contracts; getting expert referrals; doing research; pulling together comp sheets and more. She is pleasant to work with and able to work with extremely varying styles and personalities – we brought in contractors, lawyers, negotiators, and more, all of whom she was able to interact with not only functionally and professionally but also warmly and personably. A huge feat and really helps to make business dealings better.
From Flushing to Bay Ridge, when she couldn’t accompany me to view properties, she made me a map and planned routes and travel time – very thoughtful touches that make the process that much easier and less tiring. When she did accompany me, she handled the transportation – hiring a car, driving you there, etc – for the multiple parties involved.
She also sold an apartment for us within 10 days and maneuvered for it to go to Best and Final and for our best interests at every turn and in creative ways.
She came recommended by word of mouth and our family will continue that – highly recommended.

I believe that the agent is more important than the company he/​she is affiliated with. I would like to extend this review to Pavel Garanin
Pavel helped me find a place in Brooklyn –Sunset Park area– last year. I have known him socially for a few years and when I found myself in the need for a real estate sales person, I called him.
Pavel is a great agent. He is savvy about the business. More important is the fact that he checks things in the property. He tells you if something is wrong and needs to be addressed. He opens your eyes about possibilities and on what you can or cannot do after you have bought the place.

Called about a listing that looked amazing. They strung us along for a week saying they wanted to gather more apartments to show us. At the end of the day, the original apartment didn’t even exist.

My fiancé and I had roughly two days to find an apartment and sign a lease before our upcoming wedding. Our agent, Ande Sedwick, showed us several very modern listings in the Financial District (an area that we had not previously considered). She was very organized and had a wonderfully packed tour full of buildings and units that were very modern and had the amenities we wanted.
When it came time to apply for the apartment, Ande explained the procedure and allowed us to apply using the leasing office. She stayed with us, answered our questions, and was very helpful. Additionally, she met us at the lease signing (which was later that day!). She helped us find a wonderful building with all modern amenities, and our monthly rent was $ 115 under the budget we had provided for her. Within 5 hours, we had viewed the apartment, applied, and signed the lease.
If you decide to go through Nest Seekers, be sure to ask for ANDE SEDWICK. Her knowledge of the market and the neighborhoods clearly set her apart. Additionally, she was a lot of fun to work with and seemed to get along well with brokers and clients alike.

We planned to be shown an apartment by an agent Theo who was slow to respond and hard to understand. He showed up 40 minutes late to our appointment. The picture we had seen online wasn’t of the same apartment. We put in an application for the apartment anyways, and he called us back the next week saying he had told us the wrong price for the apartment, and that it was actually a ¼ more expensive per month than what we had agreed to apply for. We had spent time late at night submitting all of the materials for the application as fast as possible, for him to get back to us days later with this bad news. His manager has not responded to my calls about the experience so now I’m writing this review. I don’t understand how this counts as a service that one would feel comfortable paying a «brokers fee» for. I’m the one waiting around in the rain.

Avoid Nestseekers International. Howard was unprofessional and misleading. He reacted defensively to simple questions about the property, which in retrospect was a red flag from the get-​go.
After accepting my $ 50 application fee, he promised a response in a matter of days. Instead, it took more than two weeks –and with little to no communication from him as the landlord cherry-​picked applicants.
Howard ignored phone calls and emails, then responded with terse one-​sentence emails when pressed. The fact that he authored one of the few positive Unilocal reviews about him says it all. I thought I would be disappointed not to get the apartment he showed me. Instead I’m relieved not to be supporting his business.

First off: we never rented an apartment from a Nestseekers International broker. HOWEVER, we contacted NSI after seeing a few of their listings and we were greeted by Steve, who showed us exquisite apartments. Poor Steve had to show us those places and we finally decided on a place with a different broker. I felt a little guilty because he gave us so much of his time, but I guess it’s the game in Manhattan, right?
Perhaps we would have had a bad experience if we actually rented through one of the company’s broker, but all I can say is that Steve always showed us the apartments that were pertinent to us.
