Fresh ingredients and cute bartenders… They have all the fresh ingredients that I expect from a high-end cocktail place. They may not know all the couture cocktails by name but they’ll mix what you like without complaint. Friendly atmosphere and a well put together bar. There are hooks at the bar to hang your purse. Also, ask what the hammer on the wall is forl. Ladies… the bartenders are especially cute to look at and very sweet :) a definite plus!!!

Our bartender Eric was very attentive and inventive while making us some delish cocktails. They use a lot of fresh ingredients, see the list to the left of the bar on the chalk board. Your main classics are all here, but if you ask for variations on any of these be prepared to give the ingredients. If you know the measurements, great; but if not no need to worry — Eric was pretty good at figuring it out and making adjustments as needed. I don’t like that they have the orange twists pre-peeled. The peeling of the orange twist above the drink adds some extra essence unf! to the drink.

The fried artichoke appetizer is undeniable cravable. Vinny is the perfect host who LOVES the ladies. If you feel like breaking away from the über trendy cocktail lounges, this is the place to go!

This is one of the highlights of my last trip to Little Italy. It’s a fun place to hang out, have a few drinks, and enjoy some canolli. The waitresses were super nice to me and the owner was very generous. I look forward to visiting again next time I’m in that district! I made a video about this place too:

We recently hosted a birthday party at My Little Secret and they were fantastic. Vinny, the restaurant manager, was incredibly helpful and responsive. In addition, they took extra steps to make the party as personalized and memorable as possible. The food and drink was delicious and flowing. The wait staff was incredibly attentive and professional. The atmosphere was romantic and cozy. Highly recommended!

Does My Little Secret refer to the fact that they have a one up on their customers that they’re stealing from? DONOTFREQUENTTHISBUSINESSTHEYARECROOKS! Four weeks after our visit to this«speakeasy» my girlfriend emailed me saying that she had checked her credit card statement and the receipt from My LIttle Secret had an extra $ 10 added to it. There were four of us in our group and we split the bill, paying with two credit cards. I decided to ask my husband to check his AMX statement and sure enough, his receipt also reflected an extra $ 10 charge. Bad move, My Little Secret. You’ve messed with someone who is a big social networker of the food world and I’m planning on telling our story to A LOT of folks about your cheating ways. Good luck explaining yourself and your business practices to AMX!

This is a the true definition of a hot speakeasy place in NYC. Perfect for a date and it’s good for groups if you go there late(they’re open until 4am). Picture it being a classy but yet trendy restaurant but at the same time you feel at home but also away somewhere in a discreat fashionista hot spot in Rome, Italy. Coming from the outside I went downstairs to the basement and at first I felt I was going into a basement apartment. Surprisingly, at my arrival, it was exactly what I described. I was greeted pleasantly and felt at home and not like I’m walking into a random restaurant and waiting to be served. The food was delicious and the cocktails were exquisite. Overall, the staff was attentive and extremelly cordial. To summarize the experience, me and my friend had a three hour dinner and everything about this place was off the hook. I would definitely go there again.

The ambiance inside my little secret is to die for. Classic old world Italian setting without the same ‘been done’ menu. Everything my girlfriend and I ate was absolutly delicious! The cheese board may have been my favorite part of the meal! Baby John greeted us like we were family. What more can you ask for when you head out for the night? I highly reccomend visiting my little secret even if it’s just to enjoy a glass of wine and take in the beautiful atmosphere.

I am a second generation Italian-American. My grandparents arrived at Ellis Island from Sicily and Calabria. My mother was born and raised on Mulberry Street. So whenever I get a chance to visit her«old neighborhood», it’s a special and sentimental treat. This weekend I got together with a good friend of mine and we decided to check out the new clandestine«resto-speakeasy» My Little Secret. Owned and operated by «Baby» John Delutro(Caffe Palermo), this subterranean gem harks back to the days of the 1930s when it was real bona fide hidden watering hole. They even have an actual original photo of the old place hanging in the entrance alcove. Discreetly stroll up to 149 Mulberry and meet Greg, the friendly doorman who guards the velvet rope. Upon descending the metal delivery steps, the guest is led down a short hallway and knocks on the door at the end to the left. The door is equipped with a sliding peep view and as tradition holds, your congenial host, Vinny, peers thru and then welcomes you inside. The entire former basement and storage room has been done over beautifully with stone mason dividers and tiled floors, wine barreled lined walls, an impressively constructed and mightily stocked bar that seats eight, the popular Edison filament lighting and even a glass partition with a machine gun etching. There is a wonderful large VIP curtained party banquette near the entrance that could seat about ten revelers with ease. The management has also put up a heated gazebo on the back patio to enjoy winter dining in comfort. The menu is currently being workshopped with mostly small plates and a few entrees. I began the night with a much needed Peroni beer(a favorite). My lovely friend, Hande, scanned the wine list and selected one of the fine red labels off the competently crafted menu and enjoyed it thoroughly. There are some fancy house cocktails to savor as well. We decided to venture a tour of the appetizers on this visit. The standout of the night was the excellent Arborio Risotto tasting with a duo of Porcini Mushrooms with Truffle and a steamed Maine Lobster. Our server Crystal was attentive, elegant and courteous, as is expected with most of the better Little Italy establishments. After licking my knife clean of the risotto(I know. poor etiquette), we moved on to the Trio of Crostini topped with of Wild Mushroom and Tellegio, Ricotta and Aged Provolone, and Caponata with Shaved Reggiano. They were mouth watering. A traditional cold Seafood Salad of Shrimp, Calamari, Scungilli, and Pulpo and Spicy Lemon Vinaigrette represented solidly, although the shrimp were a little bit overcooked. The kitchen was nice enough to accommodate us with an off the menu order of well prepared Broccoli Rabe. Upon perusing the menu, one will notice the absence of pasta on the menu. I don’t know if this is by design, but I’m assuming the menu is still being shaped. I will definitely come back to try more of the appetizers like the Polenta with Prosciutto and Roasted Tomato Coulis and the Mini Chipotle Chili Crab Cakes. Some of the entrees yet to taste include the Pork Tenderloin and the Spicy Mussels with White Wine Shallot Broth. For dessert, Hande and I shared one of «Baby John’s» famous Cannoli with Strawberry Sauce and fresh Whipped Cream, an absolutely decadent indulgence. My Little Secret is verily charming and a fine welcome addition to a classic NYC dining destination. Dinner for two with wine, tax and tip was $ 110.
