Manhattan Plaza Garage/Convention Center Parking

I love the self park feature. they did overcharge me the last time.

STAY AWAY. Incompetent management. Terrible experience. Customer service was low on the manager’s skill set.

Just a quick note about this garage where I dropped into on the way home from a show at the Times Square staple B.B. King Blues Club. Its down a few blocks away from the general chaos and likely easier to find a space in should you be in the region for some sort of entertainment. It’s a parking garage so one cannot really attest to overall cleanliness but I can say that it seemed organized. My friend had parked on his own so its more of a municipal lot when it comes down to it. The attendant girl behind the glass on the bone chilling cold night that we went there was pleasant and friendly and there was no delay in processing the transaction so we could get back on the road.
Pricing varies based on discounts of the day or if its a particular holiday with higher than average business being expected. It’s never really cheap to park in a place like this in NYC, and if you want cheap just take the subway in and perhaps an Express Bus out. Unless you want to spring for a cab and depending on where you are heading can be a costly option as well.

Somebody better look into this place. The attendant followed us to the car and offered us a «discount» if we paid in cash as we were there for over 24 hours.

I don’t think i’ll ever park anywhere else in Manhattan — welcome to a gem not-​so-​subtly hidden near the west side highway.
Not only is this garage self-​parking (one of only a handful of such places that exist in NYC) but it has space. SPAAACE. Like, drive down deep enough and you can park on your very own level.
When I got there I thought I had driven into another dimension. A Manhattan with an entire level of self-​parking just for me? Am I in the alternate universe of Fringe?
I drove in from CT for an interview in the city and chose to park here and walk a few blocks to Times Square, a hub of underground transport from which you can get just about anywhere else. Traaaaaaain!
Spent the whole day parked there — final cost? $ 32. Cost of parking in Hoboken like I was going to? $ 28 — plus Lincoln Tunnel tolls on my way out.
Smart. Comparatively cheap. Self parking. Lots of space (I assume when conventions occur you will most likely not have your own level). Spaces big enough that you needn’t worry about door dings.
If you have to drive and aren’t a baby about a some not-​terribly-​central parking and a little walking around — here ya are.

Right on 42^nd off Dyer — very convenient if you’re coming off the Lincoln Tunnel.
