I have not been to the shop, but hope to someday. Although I have only shopped with La Terrine on-line, it was an incredibly positive experience. To the extent that any questions arise, La Terrine’s personnel is immediately responsive, very professional and efficient, and wonderfully warm and friendly. I am delighted to have found La Terrine.

Beautiful shop filled with colorful kitchen and dining things — things we need, things we want, things that are beautiful and not useful as well. Hand crafted pottery with colorful designs from Italy and France among others. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The plates, dishes, bowls, serving trays, table cloths, napkins and everything are displayed extremely well.

I should have written this review long ago, but better late than never. I registered at La Terrine for my wedding and Caroline, their wedding specialist, was such a joy to work with. La terrine has a beautiful selection and Caroline is so sweet and knowledgable! I highly recommend La Terrine!

I adore this store! Its charm and beautiful décor is exceeded only by the exceptional customer service provided by the staff. Historically I’d been a «big store» shopper for dinnerware, but after discovering la Terrine, I’ve completely changed my tune. The store carries such gorgeous hand-crafted, unique items that it’s hard for me believe that there isn’t something in there for any and every shopper looking to add to their dinnerware collection. They definitely have a repeat customer here!

If you don’t buzz to get in and maybe just follow a customer in, the blonde lady(presumably the owner) will treat you like you are there to steal all of her precious personal goods. Not worth it.

I love this store. I knew about their East Side location when I lived over there, but never went in. I am so happy they opened this store on the West Side. I started coming here because the colors drew me in. They carry beautiful ceramic plates and bowls, etc., from around the world. They have every style — from bright and contemporary to classical and handpainted. I can never make up my mind and now I have a little bit of everything. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. I think there is a good selection of dinnerware here, as well as cutlery, dish towels, and glasses! And great gifts — I got my sister-in-law an olive dish here and she just loves it. A lot of their merchandise is unique and can’t be found anywhere else. I told a friend to register at La Terrine for her wedding, and she’s so happy she did!

It’s a little odd that you have to buzz to gain entry but once you’re given access, you understand a bit why they may be overly cautious. It’s a glass castle of sorts, with gorgeous imported ceramics from Italy, France, Portugal. Having visited the artisan shops in Portugal, France, and Istanbul where these items are painstakenly hand painted and created, I can truly appreciate the craftsmanship on display and the sticker shock that others might experience. As such, I treated the space as more of a gallery than retail outlet. That said, there are some consumer friendly functional items like a pewter ice cream bucket($ 55) and a sweet olive dish with pick and pit jars molded in($ 36). There are a bevy of sales people/security guards that hover but are nice and knowledgeable and only a little bit pretentious when engaged. Great for bridal registry if you like to decorate your walls with embellished plates.
