They are open surprisingly late and the delivery was fast bc I ordered at 11:30pm on a Sunday. The prices are cheap but the food was meh. If I had other options that were open at that time, I may have ordered from them.

Ugh was absolutely disgusting, I ordered a delivery on the afternoon of January 31st of Korma and liver appetizer, but everything was SO over salted it was absolutely impossible to eat. I basically ate rice without anything and had to throw away the rest. Maybe they where«under the influence» of upcoming New Year’s, but regardless, the only way to make everything that salty would be to literally dump the bowl of salt in it. P. S. I order this same items from many other Indian restaurants and take outs, and I’ve never experienced such bad cooking before, hence the 1 star P. S. S. Food also took way over an hour and a half to arrive while they are practically next door, as well as food was warm-ish coming up to cold I don’t like posting negative reviews but I felt like I need to, still gave delivery guy a great tip, since it’s holidays and he wasn’t the one cooking that mess.

Woops unfortunatelly I’m going to have to leave the worst possible review after my delivery experience with these guys. 1. They messed up my order and sent some chicken when I ordered a vegetarian dish. OK fine, a mistake. I called in. It was pretty hard to understand the English of the person I spoke with, and he at first seemed reluctant to send in the right item but after a sort-of-conversation he agreed to. 2. Food arived(again) which was relatively fast, I must admit. HOWEVER the delivery guy was completely confused as to what was happening and he barely spoke any English. HEREFUSEDTOLEAVE. I’m still not sure what he wanted but HEFOLLOWEDMEAROUND in my office, into the eating area where other people were trying to enjoy their meals. He proceded to TOUCHANDINSPECT all the food I previously had received, to which I of course objected, then he called someone and started yelling in tongues on the phone. Everyone around was pretty startled at that point. I tried to explain but he wouldn’t understand or believe me. I was about to call security or something because I asked him to leave several times but he refused. He finally left silently after a good 8 minutes or so of raging mayhem. WEIRDO. I can’t believe I pre-tipped them. NEVERORDERFROMTHESEINCOMPETENT, RUDEPEOPLE. Idk about walking in.

After reading the reviews, I was excited to try Jewel of India. …Not so excited anymore. My order was over an hour late. I called to check on my food and the gentleman said it was on it’s way. 20 minutes later, no food. I called back to voice my concern about the food being cold and he told me all the food is served hot. My food finally arrived almost an hour and half late, and big shocker– it was ice cold! I will not be ordering from this place again.

Came here on an empty stomach and hungry, left very satisfied and full. I ordered the Saag Mushroom(spinach & mushroom curry) without the cream, and it was exactly what I wanted! I usually skip the curry at Indian restaurants because they are so heavy, but this was so delicious. It had plenty of spinach and mushroom without all the fattiness from the cream. The rice that came with the dish wasn’t that great… I don’t think it was real basmati rice. I got the onion naan on the side, and it tasted fine. I enjoyed the trio of chutney(green, brown, and pickled onion) that came with the papadum at the beginning of the meal. I think Jewel of India is one of the newer restaurants on this street, which has tons of Indian restaurants. I would come here again.

Ordered through seamless at 6:30pm. The confirmation email said that the order would take 30 – 45 minutes to arrive. (7:20pm) 50 minutes later I called and was told that the food was on its way, and should be arriving any minute. (7:40pm) 20 minutes after that I called again, and the restaraunt told me that they had wrapped the food so it wouldn’t get cold, and that they were sorry, it had been a busy night. Basically, that means they either sent out a delivery guy with a dozen orders(guaranteeing delayed/cold food for everyone), or they lied about when they sent out the food. (8:15pm) food finally arrives, cold. We’re both hungry so we eat anyway. Doesn’t taste bad, but not worth waiting so long for cold food and poor service. Samosas were super dried out, smaller portions than comparable places, and they sent something that I think was supposed to be a Chutney sauce, but tasted like bland gravy… Recommendations, May be worth trying a lunch special in house, but don’t waste your time or money ordering unless you like waiting nearly two hours for cold food and crappy excuses as lies.

Lunch special is now $ 7.95 but it’s still a great deal with tasty food. It’s very clean and simple, nice blue and white décor, and the service was very attentive. The lunch(or dinner special) is very filling. With lunch you get an appetizer, soup, pappadums, the little condiments, a main meal and a dessert(usually the coconut rice pudding). You can also have free refills on rice and I always ask for more of those zesty red onions. I’d come back.

The owner was very rude for no reason. I usually do not leave reviews for bad service but I felt compelled this time to write one. This is the second time I order from this place. Last time they forgot my mango lassi and the owner refused to give me a refund or send the delivery guy again, instead he offered to send me double portion next time. Today I called to make a new order and before I could even mention the mango lassi issue the owner told me he was not gonna offer me service. When I asked why not he said he did not need to give me an explanation, using a raised voice the whole time. Food is good, but not worth the bad service.

The kitchen closes at 11:30 pm so this is one of my favorite late night delivery restaurants in the Village. I love ordering their several soups, appetizers, beef and lamb dishes, mango or pistachio homemade ice cream, mango lassa, nan bread, sauteed shrimp and delivery is fast and super friendly. The orders come with a hefty serving of basmati rice for each entrée, which I also add into one of the soups for days to come. I order enough food to keep me happy for about three days. Thank you Jewel of India.

They refused to honor my Groupon, insisting on a minimum $ 40 order to use a $ 20 take out Groupon even though there was no minimum amount listed in the fine print. The food is very good but the owner and management are loathsome people. Personally I won’t give my money to people like them and anyway there are Indian restaurants just as good on the same block.

Went to this place with a Groupon and left without any complaints. The service was really great, food was tasty, and there were no leftovers to be had at work the next day. Would certainly go back again :)

I ordered through seamless app which suppose to make them more competitive to give better quality than the other available restaurants in the area through the app. The order was wrong where I got one soup instead of two also the chicken mix I got was not worth the money. The pieces of meat were so small in a huge amount of rice which is a pretty cheap move. I ate Indian food in a lot of places before and thank God I did or this place would have gave me the wrong impression about Indian food. I didn’t like my food experience at all which is really rare to happen with me, but they really didn’t get anything right in this order except the rice !!!

Nice little lunch spot. Atmosphere is nice and surprisingly modern. The played and interesting mix of musicals and songs from soundtracks. For their $ 6.95 lunch special we got a choice of appetizer, naan, soup and a main. It was all very tasty… We stuck to the vegetarian choices and really enjoyed it all. My favorite was the saag(similar to a creamed spinach). Will definitely go back!
