Integrate NYC Physical Therapy

Following recent spinal surgery, the Hospital for Special Surgery cleared me to begin physiotherapy at Integrate NYC, where I had earlier regained full function after rotator-​cuff surgery. Reception is warm and ambiance is great: natural light, thriving greenery, a relaxing playlist. Colin, Jon and Ari share a personalized, hands-​on approach. They tackle issues of pain, balance and mobility with an innovative combination of advanced Eastern and Western techniques. An out-​in-​the-​open workspace allows them to consult with each other continually during your course of treatment. At Integrate NYC, you typically enjoy an hour or more of undivided attention from a team of exacting, empathetic professionals.

Jon really helped me when I was experiencing a chronic case of sciatica by giving me a full evaluation, deep tissue massage and then giving me a series of detailed exercises that I could do on my own in order to help me get back on track. There are no shortcuts to these types of things but I have to say after following his stretching regiment I felt more relief than I had in a year and I go back in periodically to get work done and get additional consultations. Would definitely recommend seeing them if you’re looking to get to the root of an injury instead of just finding a way to temporarily mask it. Office is very mellow and relaxing too, which is a small miracle considering it’s located in Midtown Manhattan!

For years, I’d been in and out of physical therapy for treatment of chronic musculoskeletal pain. It wasn’t until I was blessed to be referred to the team at Integrate that I finally found some hope AND relief! Colin, Jon, Ari and Sean are the most skilled and compassionate therapists I have encountered (and I have tried quite a few!). Their «integrative» approach is balanced and tailored to the individual needs of each patient. I especially enjoy the space in which they practice, which is surrounded by living plants and peaceful fountains, and they always have relaxing music playing. It really is a holistic experience, and I am very grateful to have found them.

The team spends more than an hour with each patient and treats not only the pain but will also help heal your entire body. I admire that they know how to bring patients’ strengths out to help heal their body, rather than tell you to take medicine or get a shot for temporally relief. They will also show you personalized exercises, and will email you with videos and explanations, so you can continue doing the exercises correctly at home.
They helped me cure 2 significant pains: a dull and annoying pain in my right neck through my right hand which lasted for about 18 months and an acute pain in the Illiopsoas muscle (hip area) and my lower back.

I am so grateful for Colin, John and Ari and their thorough, comprehensive approach to treatment. After recently suffering a recurrence of an old back injury, I wanted to get to the root of it and not just mask the pain. The team at Integrate works to do just that, using a wide array of modalities. Each session is tailored to where you are in the healing process and, as others have mentioned, you feel completely taken care of with their collaborative approach.
Since coming to Integrate, I’ve experienced both continual improvement and also a heightened awareness of my body that I can use to minimize future injuries. Cannot recommend them highly enough!

Great Physical Therapist!
I hobbled in to Integrate Health and Wellness with a severe herniated disc in my lower back. I’d been suffering for 6 weeks and regular visits to a specialist doctor and physio weren’t working — in fact my symptoms were getting worse! I’d lost feeling down my left leg and was losing strength in my foot. Unable to face the prospect of dragging my limp limb around behind me and unprepared to listen to stern advice from two surgeons wanting to operate immediately, I sought out other physical therapy options. And that’s where Colin and the team of physical therapists at Integrate came in.
After a couple of sessions feeling returned to my stricken appendage. Within a couple of weeks I was walking normally (the soccer community breathed a collective sigh of relief) and things have continued to improve from there. I now look back at how close I came to going under the knife and shake my head in disbelief. I owe the great physical therapists at Integrate — Colin, John, Sean and Ari a huge debt of gratitude for ensuring I avoided that fate.
The guys mixed a scientific approach (medical diagnosis, studying MRI’s, iPad app’s showing disc’s and cartilage etc) with traditional physical therapy routines and eastern medicine techniques, including acupuncture and cupping. I won’t do it justice by trying to explain the finer points but needless to say everything they told me to do made sense. And that isn’t something I could say of my previous experience. My experience of back pain had been horrendous and it was made worse by a sea of people all with differing ideas on how I should recover. When I came into Integrate I was confused and didn’t know who to trust. Now thankfully I do.
