Right next to the High Peaks North Rest Area, this facility handles southbound traffic on Rt. 87, a/k/a The Northway. It is a mirror image of the northbound stop, with log cabin looks outside, and restrooms and vending machines inside. Minimalist approach, but stuck in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains. Can’t do better than this on the East Coast unless you are in the Smokey Mountains of North Carolina and Tennessee. Note — The North area was already on Unilocal as I passed through, and I did not think to add the South area until returning home. It is there now, and my comments for the North are equally applicable for the South. I stopped both coming and going. It is in North Hudson, NY. Can’t explain how Unilocal got it as Manhattan?
