Happy Pants is an excellent dog walking service. We have used them for 2+ years now.

We’ve been using Happy Pants for almost two years and we couldn’t be happier. Over the two years, we’ve had 2 regular dog walkers, Celeste and Violet, who are both fantastic, as well as substitute walkers, Peter and Terry, who are just as great. We have used the daily dog walking services that come with customized notes about your pup and the walk, as well as overnight sitting services when we were out of town. Though not required, the sitters kept us up to date on Raisin (our pug!) and things have always gone well. David is very accommodating for all my last minute requests, whether it’s to add an appointment or to cancel, and is quick to respond. He has never said ‘no’ to a single request and always find a way to make things work. At holidays he surprises with gifts both for owner and dog (Doggie treats + this Holiday we received a card with a picture of Raisin on it!) Celeste and Violet both were happy to send me a candid photo of Raisin on their walk and kept me up to date on his behavior as he learned to socialize with other dogs. All the walkers have been very caring and attentive. We sadly are moving away from the area, but otherwise we’d be with Happy Pants for life! I highly recommend.

This is such a great company! I’ve had nothing but positive experiences working with David and his ‘Panters” (walkers). I use them on an ad-​hoc basis for when my brother is dog-​sitting and I’ve always appreciated their flexibility of being available on-​call for my pup, Max. I also love the fact that they offer dog runs! Max has a ton of energy and the runs surely help :) I also recently used them for 2 overnight stays and not only was it affordable, the Panter who stayed was fantastic. He sent me messages throughout the weekend keeping me abreast of Max’s activities which gave me comfort. I would absolutely recommend using Happy Pants!

Just visited New York and called Happy Pants to walk our Rocco, our pug. Rocco can get overheated, and I received a call from David, the owner, who told be he was panting a lot. We told him how he overheats and David was kind enough to peronally keep him cool, gave him water and took personal care of him until we were back. It was clear how much love he has for dogs. He went the extra mile to make sure our dog was ok, at no extra charge. Next time we visit New York we will certainly hire them again. Thanks Happy Pants.

David and his team are very responsible and responsive. It is apparent that they love dogs and what they do. The have been flexible and very helpful in last minute calls and have been able to make unscheduled calls. Dogs and me are very happy.

These guys have always been great to me and my doggy. Dave is good with communication, quick to text and call back to accommodate my schedule and even last minute changes in plans.
The dog seems to enjoy her time out with the walker, part of her daily routine now. I’ve used other walkers, but this is the easiest interaction for me. So, I’d recommend it!

I’ve been really impressed by HP and the love they give to our pups, both on the occasions that we need walks during the day and on the regular house stays that I’ve had them do. Their people are super with the pups (who are pretty tough not to love!!) and very conscientious about our home and schedules. It’s a little annoying that one of our dogs gets more excited for walks with the pro than when I take her out, but I guess that’s the risk you run :-)

Today I received a follow-​up text from David (who apparently just saw this review?), blackmailing me with the promise to add a negative review for my private yoga classes. David has never taken a yoga class with me, but who knows — perhaps someone stole his phone and sent the threatening texts on his behalf?..

Cassandra stayed with our medium/​small dog, General Baumer, over the weekend and worked miracles with him. He can be very wary of strangers and likes to bark a ton at them. She was able to calm him and make him feel comfortable with her in our apartment. She kept in touch all weekend and sent pictures showing our dog incredibly happy, running outside, and getting cuddles and pets. We couldn’t have been happier.
BEYOND THAT, my husband and my flight was canceled Sunday night. Cassandra was already on her way home when I called her with the news. Without me even asking she said she’d turn around and go back to stay with General Baumer another night. I was SO RELIEVED and couldn’t believe how incredibly nice and accommodating she was! When we finally got home on Monday, he was the happiest dog after such a wonderful weekend AND Cassandra had left a sweet note with a puppy cupcake from Sprinkles. Cassandra went above and beyond to make our dog and us feel so well taken care of. I would recommend Cassandra to anyone, she is an incredibly kind, wonderful person that has a very special way with dogs.
We have only had wonderful experiences with Happy Pants. Not only are they always available for your and your dog’s needs but their employees will also do as much as possible to accommodate your requests. Highly recommended!!!

David and his team have walked my dog, Toto, for the last 2 years and I can’t say enough nice things about Happy Pants. I really appreciate that David is always available, even late at nights and weekends. His team is very flexible with last minute cancellations and last minute requests for same day walks and weekend sits.
These guys are super professional and will go out of the way to make sure that your dog is well taken care of. I trust them fully with Toto and have recommended several of my friends and coworkers to Happy Pants. The care and attention that Toto gets is flawless and consistent… from the daily notes that his team leaves for me after every walk, to follow up calls from David, the owner… and even christmas gifts for Toto, I’m so happy I found Happy Pants two years ago and would highly recommend their services. It’s no wonder why they get such great reviews.

Love David and Happy Pants!!! I used them for two years before moving out of the area and I am genuinely heartbroken to have to say goodbye (I’m sure my pup Lola feels the same way).
David is incredibly flexible and easy to reach, almost always responding to emails within minutes and putting up with my ever-​changing schedule. Lola can sometimes be a handful — or as much of a handful as a 6 pound dog can be — but our dog walker Bernard had nothing but patience and sweet things to say about her. I loved coming home to his funny notes about their adventures.
They really do care for your dog like their own. Would highly recommend them to anyone!

David and his team are excellent!!! We trusted them with our French Bulldog for her daily walks for over 2 years and the only reason we had to stop was due to our moving outside their route zone. I recommend Happy Pants and so does our dog!!!

If you are looking for a fantastic dog walking service, with a wonderful team than look no further than Happy Pants. I cannot say enough wonderful words about David and his team, particularly Aubree. They are extremely responsible, take their time to get to know your dog and his/​her habits and report exactly what takes place so that it is almost as if you are on the walk yourself. They are extremely accommodating about schedule changes or any special instructions or needs. They are true animal lovers and make both the dogs and the parents feel important and cared for. David responds immediately to all questions and concerns and informs you ahead of time of any changes to the schedule. I would absolutely recommend Happy Pants to every dog owner in New York.

Couldn’t speak more highly of Happy Pants! David is super responsive and accommodating to any schedule changes which makes dealing with them a pleasure. My dog walker Bernard is amazing– he was kind and patient with my dog who was super wary and nervous at first; Needless to say Bernard and my dog Fletcher are pretty much best friends forever now. I feel comfortable with them in my home and would recommend their services to anyone who needs a reliable, trustworthy, dog loving walking service!

David and his team are AMAZING. Our walker Kasey leaves us adorable notes after every walk and even left us a christmas present. They are incredibly accommodating about last minute changes. David and his team are fantastic! We rescued a puppy (Hudson) with severe separation anxiety and were very nervous about leaving him home all day in our apartment building and not disturbing the neighbors. We found Happy Pants on Unilocal,called David and explained the situation, and he came out to meet Hudson same day. From that moment forward, never a day went by when a friendly and capable walker (generally the same one, but subs were available in the event of conflict or illness) didn’t spend 30 – 45 minutes with Hudson. They always left nice notes and even stayed in our apartment with Hudson when we traveled. My husband and I have crazy work & travel schedules and often made last minute requests and cancellations, and David accommodated every single one without even the hint of a complaint or suggestion that we were inconveniencing him, though I know we did. (I don’t say this to encourage such inappropriate client behavior, rather as an FYI as to how great the guy is.) We just moved to San Francisco and recognize it will likely be very difficult to find a walker anywhere near as great as David and his team. Just hire them!

David and his team are fantastic! He’s extremely responsive for last minute changes, his staff is extremely professional, our puppy loved the walkers, and they were very helpful in teaching him to walk on a lead. We even had a walker stay in our apartment to puppy-​sit a couple times when we couldn’t take him with us. We’ve used Happy Pants for the last year while living in both the west village and upper west side, and now that we’re moving to California, we only hope we can find a new service just as good!

Happy Pants has been a dream come true. David and his crew take such amazing care of my pup Stanton and walk her on my not-​so-​regular schedule. I live in FiDi and have had some mixed experiences with previous dog walkers (think drop by’s 2 hours early to just pick up the cash; never showing up; not informing me of incidents with other dogs), and never with Happy Pants. The service is always consistently on point, professional, and most importantly, Stanton was always so happy by the time i got home (and tired!). David worked to accommodate my scheduling and provided a great resource to help with my pup’s anxiety. The notes are hilarious and it’s clear Happy Pants hires a staff who truly cares about the animals they tend to. The rates are extremely competitive (I have friends who pay more for half the time and for non-​private walks — crazy!). They also make life easy if you need to head out of town for a few nights — Stanton barely missed :) I could rave about Happy Pants incessentantly, and recommend them to anyone who is looking for reliable and trustworthy pet caretakers.

David, Terry, JJ, and the rest of the gang are all fantastic. They walk and feed my dog in the Financial District five times a week and sometimes on weekends as well. They have always been able to accommodate my erratic schedule. David is an excellent manager– answers emails almost immediately, came to my apartment to set things up right after I called them– and the dog walkers are wonderful. They leave detailed notes about the walk and how much they love my dog– I don’t even care if they’re exaggerating about how great the dog is because those notes are often the best part of my day. (You can see how much I hate my job.) These guys just make my life so much easier and my dog’s life so much better.

I’ve been a client for about a year now, and Dave and his crew are fantastic. They are always happy to help out when I need to schedule an extra walk or overnight stay, and I always feel like it’s no trouble at all!
Best of all, my dog is really happy. When I first moved into my new apartment, my upstairs neighbor complained that my dog was howling during the day. I guess he was a lot more lonely than when I was in grad school and had a roommate and I was worried that he was stressed out and anxious… Also, my neighbor was the kind of man who would send letters to the building management and try to get people evicted for things like that.
After some research, I decided that the best thing I could do for my dog was to make sure he had more attention during the day and plenty of exercise. That’s how I found Happy Pants. The dog running worked! My dog is more mellow and happy, and my neighbor smiles at me now.
I highly, highly recommend this group!
