I bought a package for 3 facials/microdermabrasion. I paid upfront, and they write you name and dates of the facials on a notecard. Today, when I came in to get my third facial, they lost my card. I’m currently sitting in their waiting room, as they scramble looking for a lost card! Not only should they be using a computer, instead of their clearly unorganized way if filing, but they keep telling me it’s impossible they lost my card… yet, they remember me. Needless to say, I won’t be returning.

worst spa ever. i went to the spa today(04/23/2013)expecting a beautiful welcoming environment, which i didn’t get. i went in for a chemical peel. before i can really get relaxed it was over. she just cleaned my face and put a mask on, next think you know she comes in and wraps it. horrible spa, i will not return again. there’s to many spa and to many experts to waste your money here.

The micro was okay, and the aesthetician was friendly. But it has been 3 months, and I have been unable to schedule a follow-up, after buying a package. They have maybe one«opening» each week during the day(I have a job), and are always booked on weekends. These were recommended for every 3 – 4 weeks, so I can’t see this working out. I am contacting the manager for a refund on Monday.

I too bought the living social deal. I got the microdermabrasion and cellulite treatment. Like the other reviewers said it was very short. I didn’t really understand the girl and I felt like she was in a hurry. I’m hoping for their sake that they were just shortening the procedure time because it was a living social deal because whoever is paying full price is getting nothing. Honestly I didn’t even think it was worth $ 120 through the deal. Which is too bad because if they did a good job I would have come back. Also, my friend and I scheduled our appointments together and only one girl was working so I had to wait which I was not happy about. The cellulite massage consisted of the lady rubbing lotion on my butt and thighs and then using a machine to massage it for 5 minutes each leg and each side. pros: The cellulite treatment seemed to have results even though it was only 20 minutes long, I definitely wish it was longer and my face does seem smoother. But no visible results. cons: If you have the living social deal, don’t expect much. Also, I left with the sand still all over my face and in my mouth. I had to wait until I got home to wash my face and mouth out, not cool. I scheduled an appointment and had to wait almost an hour because there was only one person there.

I got a Living Social deal, $ 60 for a microdermabrasion. The spa is located on the second floor. I questioned safety because you have to press a button to get in the main door, and then the spa has bars over the door, etc. But, once you’re inside, there is an alright spa setting. It looks small, dark, and narrow. I was taken in immediately at my appointment time. I really felt nervous going in for a few reasons: 1) I was rushed into a room with a sliding door. There was barely any standing space(I mean, really, they had to maneuver the microdermabrasion machine in, banging into things along the way). 2) Communication. As sweet as my technician was, her English was not strong. She mentioned she was Russian. I had a hard time figuring out she wanted me to take just my top off to change into the wrap. 3) HELLO! KNOCKBEFOREYOUCOMEIN! I was asked if I wanted water before I changed. I said sure. She left and closed the door, so I proceeded to strip. Now I’m totally topless and my boobs are in your face as you open the door, where people in the hallway can see. ??? Then came my service. The technicially was very, very nice. She had an extremely gentle(too gentle) touch. She washed my face with 2(nasty smelling) sponges. I wonder now if they were recycled… *shudder* The microdermabrasion was standard. Then there was a mask. She left the room, so I only had this strange upbeat music to listen to. She came back without announcing herself, but I could sense her squeezing to fit into the space between me and the wall. She used the stinky sponges again to wash my face. And we were done. I asked a few questions about maintenance, etc. Unfortunately, she answered the wrong questions, couldn’t translate«pores» etc etc. Still, I couldn’t blame her since she was so nice. Upon leaving, the owner(I guess) kept trying to sell us more services. Not surprising. The result: Pros: My skin did feel really smooth for 2 days afterwards, which was pretty shocking. Doesn’t really replace extractions, though. Cons: We were going home and my friend noticed on the side of my face this HUGE streak of mask left on my face, about 2 fingers wide, and just as long as my fingers, too. Also, my face felt so grainy. I’m sorry, with the mask and washing, why is all this stuff still on my face? Whoever did my friend got a bunch of cystals in her ear. Will I go back? Probably not.

I purchased a living social deal for a $ 60 microdermabrasion and decolté massage. The space upstairs when you enter is quite nice and spacious and I was anxious to wind down after work. Everything was clean and proper — no complaints. As for the micro experience, it was OK. I’ve had quite a few before and it’s not luxurious like a facial but I like it and find it effective. My esthetician was smiley but before she could start she was already telling me how often I should be getting micros and other things so I felt like I was listening to a sales pitch. She must’ve looked at the clock 4 – 5 times during the appt so I felt like I was either being rushed or keeping her from going home. The room wasn’t relaxing in any way. It felt cramped with lots of little things and fluorescent lighting which was what stayed on the entire time(not just for the micro when they need to see clearly). Also, can’t say I enjoyed the pop radio station being played over the speakers. It’s not about the taste in music but that + commercials are not what I want to hear when I’m relaxing. Typically you’d hear serenity music or something. Well, micro was done in 10min followed by a mask that sits for 15min. I was far from relaxed while waiting for this mask to be done. After 19min(yes I was starring at the clock), someone else came in to finish up. AS I suspected, original esthetician was in a rush. When I was leaving she wasn’t even around for me to tip her. All in all, I got the job done for $ 60 but I wouldn’t come back not even for the same deal. There’s too many spa options in Manhattan to come here again.
