Talk about attitude! Bagel lady ignores me so I figure I have to pay first. The cashier tell her my order of a plain bagel and coffee. But she still ignores her too about my bagel. I realize after 5 minutes bagel lady does every order but mine. I finally interrupted when she looks behind me for an order. She cuts my bagel then tosses it side for someone else’s order. I go back to cashier for a refund, which I do get, as she’s professional. Good coffee though.

Central Market is my «go-to» destination when coming in and leaving the city thru Penn Station. Their iced-coffee is one of the best I’ve tasted anywhere and that’s saying a lot from a guy who knows his iced-coffee! Hungry before work? Try their omelette bar where fresh omelettes are prepared to your liking. Hungry after work? Try out their pasta bar where you can select from a variety of sauces, toppings and pastas(including whole-wheat). Prices are reasonable, although I understand their pre-packaged granola bars and concessions are a bit over-priced. They also have a cold food bar, which doesn’t always look fresh and doesn’t appear to be replenished thru out the day, so they could improve upon this. The staff is extremely friendly and nice, and if you’re a regular they get to know you and what you want before you even tell them. This place hands-down beats PAX or a Café Metro for food, service and value, although PAX and Metro are nicer aesthetically. In all I say give it a try if you’re in the area, I think you’ll like it!

I seen a lot of my colleagues go here so I was like why not its ugly outside. Thank god you get a discount if you show your Vornado badge. Pheww I didn’t have to pay 8 something for my Pesto Chicken Penne with spinach and diced garlic. Pasta’s texture was like it came out of the box but everything else was tasty. Usually these pasta dishes will filled me up but not this baby. The free bread is hard like a rock. I might go back or might not!

Brief but happy visit between LI n philadelphia on my trip this morning. Quick service on the bagel line prevented my grumpy NY attitude from waking up :). Got the everything bagel with veggie spread and an iced tea. It came out fast and tasty as the lady running the station was quick and efficient. There were seperate stations for hot breakfasts, pasta, and even a quick-stop style beverage counter for when youre on the move, as well as a salad and fruit bar. Beer on tap looked to be mostly local craft beers; a concept I like very much. While eating and watching the variety of news, sports and stock trade programs, I noticed Central Markets heavy advertising for a beer company I’m unfamiliar with. Next time I’m in town I’ll have to try the Kentucky Bourbon Ale. Sounds like it’s right up my alley.

Basically a glorified convenience store with hot food, snacks and booze to go. Great to run in and out of during the busy commute. Staff is always helpful and rings orders up quickly.

The soups are mediocre. You can sample them before buying them. I sampled a few and decided I didn’t want any of them because they were eh. I made my own salad for $ 7.99/pound. The prepackaged salads aren’t appealing.

Horrible. Asked for egg whites and wheat toast(NO coffee, NO home fries, nothing else). Got charged $ 5.75. It was so oily that I had to throw it away. The oil or butter was dripping from it. I took a couple of bites and it was tasteless. Plus, my colleague went down there got the same thing the same morning and got charged $ 3.80. NEVER going back there.

I bought a small cup of Italian Wedding Soup for $ 5.95. It wasn’t the best, but it wasn’t the worst either. It came with a piece of Italian bread which was very fresh. Employees for friendly and took my order pretty quick.

So I bought a muffin from another bakery in Penn Station, then came here to get a latte and sit down for a drink. The manager came over and pointed to a sign saying«no outside food or drink» and kicked me out. I would understand if I didn’t buy something there, or if they were a nice NYC restaurant. But they’re a train station bakery. Basically, if you’re traveling at Penn Station with a group of friends and they don’t ALL want to eat at the same place, you’re not welcome here. Also, the latte wasn’t great.

Visit #1 — Called to order, was told they do not take phone orders. I walk down, spoke with manager she advises me yes they do take phone orders. I get an egg white sandwich it was pretty good.($ 5.25) Visit#2 — Called to order and pickup was told by Natalie that they do not take phone orders and to come down. I explain that the manager told me that THEYDO take phone orders,(argument ensues) Ask for manager, was put on hold for 3 minutes. Manager says“yes we do take phone orders” Hands phone back to Natalie«ohhh you want to pick it up? can I take your order”(starts talking with someone else, ignores me and asks me to hold on) I hangup and callback, she advises that she was taking my order and to «come down then» and hangs up on me. I don’t care if its Penn Station, NY or whatever I’m not putting up with this type of BS for an egg sandwich.

I am a regular here, as I work at 1 Penn, and go into Penn Station for my lunch 5x a week. People are very friendly, and the food is fresh. Prices are comparable to anything else in Penn. They have a full salad bar(cold only), ready-made sandwiches, about 8 choices of soup, and a ton more.(I believe they have a pasta station as well)

I grab a bagel and a fruit cup every weekday morning from this place — I’m a regular! Also, the cashiers are super friendly. True, it isn’t cheap, but it’s Manhattan AND it’s Penn Station.

i went here late last night around 11pm. i brought over a small roll turkey sandwich and i was about to pay before i found out the price. it was about $ 11 for that roll! i told myself wow, thats too much. i went over and picked up the Mediterranean chicken wrap for $ 8. its still a little painful on the wallet because it was really small. after i ate it i walked over to the starbucks next to it and found out that everything was cheaper. wow starbucks is cheaper than central. thats crazy! the wrap was good but it didnt take over my shock of the simple turkey roll. the wrap i bought was plain chicken with olives and other veggies.
