My friend had her birthday party here, and it was a great time! She is half-brazilian so we celebrated the Brazilian carnival here with eye masks and feathers and what not. We started our night early at 5pm, and it was weird to see lots of kids and babies in this restaurant/bar. It was SUPER crowded, but everyone was there having a good time. They had a buffet thing going on so we took advantage of that… it included rice, beans, spinach and mysterious yet delicious bacon pieces. The food was good but definitely too salty for my tastes. We also ordered from the menu(couple different types of pizzas, and guacamole & chips), and those were good too. The celebration itself was pretty fun. When we first got there, there was a band playing Brazilian pop music, then a performance by some sexy capoeira men, then a DJ playing Brazilian music and also American music that can be passed off as Brazilian-ish music. The drinks were insanely strong, almost too strong! Aside from it being a little too crowded at times, our waitress was very accommodating of our large group of 12 people and we had a good experience here!

I went there last week with a Gilt certificate. I enjoyed the cheese balls and yucca fries. Num. The codfish balls and calabresa sausage were ok, but the empanadas were a travesty. They had no filling(a teaspoon of meat at most). The bar itself was my favorite part — — the Lime and Passionfruit Caipirinhas were tasty and potent and the bartenders were friendly(and nice to look at). Beer is expensive($ 9). A heads up if you’re planning on going, the entrance is hard to find. Look for the Hilton Garden Inn, it’s in the lobby.

First of all, I could not find this place for the life of me. Not realizing it was directly across tfrom the subway, I walked up and down the street for a good 20 minutes just looking for the address. When we arrived, it was around 6pm on a Friday and it was empty with the exception of us and a really ditzy older blonde woman. This place was decent. Nothing to rave aobut, but nothing to specifically complain about. I had the Gilt City voucher as well, and came with another friend. We ordered a few different tapas and caipirinhas(we tried 1 strawberry and 3 lime ones). The drinks were STRONGGG. I personally do not care for strong drinks, I prefer something that tastes good. The strawberry one did not, but the lime ones were delicious. We had a nice time chatting with each other, but after we used up the voucher, we didn’t stick around. I will mention that my friend loved this place, the drinks, the tapas and the environment and ended up booking a trip to Brazil for this January as a result.

Got a coupon from KGB deals for this and like some others have said, it’s not really what I was expecting. HOWEVER, the cocktails and tapas are delicious. Fun vibe. I’d go back!

Heard about this place from a recent Gilt City deal that boasted of its Saturday brunch with live music/dancing. Although I didn’t purchase the deal, I bookmarked this place after checking out its site and videos of said party and it definitely looked like something my mom would enjoy. I should have known something was up as soon as I tried to make reservations: the first time I called, a man said that he would have his assistant call me back, and after not hearing back for the whole day, I had to leave a voicemail before someone called me back about brunch. First of all, I walked back and forth a million times because the place had no signs or markers other than a Brazilian flag hanging in the window. I walked into a tiny bar and told the bartender that I had brunch reservations — he didn’t really get what I was saying and as soon as «brunch» seemed to translate to «caipirinhas only», I started to get a little annoyed. I made reservations for brunch. «Are you sure you didn’t call the Mexican restaurant next door? We don’t have brunch, here’s our menu [of about 6 tapas].» What about the live music that you listed on your site’s calendar?(keep in mind that the space had no room for any of this — it barely had room for a radio) «Um, we have a DJ later on…» And so we left. You would think that mentioning BRUNCH in my reservation would have clued them in to tell me that they canceled their Saturday party(and seemingly ALL food) this week. This is actually just a side room of the adjacent Mexican place posing as a full Brazilian restaurant. I obviously can’t comment on the food — what a pity because it seems like this was the only Brazilian spot in the neighborhood that had bolinho de bacalhau(fried codfish balls, a personal favorite) on the menu. Let this review be a warning to all those who heard about this new spot and were eager to try it out — it seems like FOOD is not a priority for this«restaurant».

I went here after buying a Gilt City offer. The offer was 2 items off the dinner menu, 2 orders of empanadas, 4 drinks and 1 dessert. The bar tender accused me of making up the Gilt City offer and then claimed there was no dinner menu. Then I found the dinner menus just laying on the bar and he said that they were out of all the plates so we could only order tapas. We ordered 2 tapas along with the empanadas. The food was mediocre. When it was time for dessert he said that they were also out of dessert. I couldn’t believe it. I was so angry. Thankfully, Gilt gave me a refund. The only decent thing about this place was the drinks! Don’t be fooled. This is a HOTELBAR. Not a tapas restaurant. I would never, ever go here again.

This place seems alright at 1st glance, but then you release its part of the restaurant next door(with out the glam service) wil never return. Waiter took at least 30 minutes to take our order, was a mess and gave us mostly everybody’s order, how do you F*()^K up 3 Cachaca Drink Order + maybe 5 tapas on the menu, poor Service, spanish fellow stubble beard, and had worn down shoes on a friday afternoon, followed by his friend the yellow tank top and Mr. Muscle Shirt blue Plaid who seemed High on Crank. Seriously Run a Better Business. Disgusting

E hoje! this spot has the Brazilian vibe to the max, authentic drinks,(the Brazil president Lula’s most favorite drink(in a major way) lands here. Great bites from the kitchen, serve up bolinhos de bacalhao, pastels, caldo de feijao, and pao de queijo. I ve seen first hand that everybody loves Brazilians, especially hot Russian Models, hot French Models, oh did I mention Models? Cool beats, good drinks, exotic food, and hottie hot hots!!!
