Body Worlds: Pulse

I went here for a school trip and this museum has tons of very interesting display here. Each display has description in details. I recommend this place when you are into science.
Although there’s only one specific specimen that you’re allowed to take a picture of it.
After the exhibit, I also bought a souvenir from here.

This place is way too expensive for the amount you see. We finished in less than an hour and we were really looking and the bodies because they’re pretty cool but it should only cost like $ 15 max

Absolutely great museum if you are into science, or practices in how the body works such as yoga. I havent seen cadavers made so fascinating before – ever. Buy your ticket online in advance to save $$.

A must do for anyone. The human body is simply amazing. We went around 2 pm on a Monday and there were only 2 other ppl ahead of us so we could marvel at the exhibit without a crowd. I also agree with others who have said that discovery should do a better job of watching ppl take pictures. The guy in front of us was snapping his cannon camera at literal every exhibit, come on ppl have some respect.

Very beautiful experience, worth every penny. The NYC Body Worlds takes you on a spiritual journey through the value of life. I don’t want to spoil the inspirational themes, I’m merely here to recommend it to all considering attending. Cheers!

This was a very educational experience on my end; there’s a lot of different body parts, full bodies, etc in this exhibit; also there’s lots of information provided on each display. I would recommend if you’re interested in science or just tourist-​type exhibits. There are always deals going on, so be sure to check online!

It was interesting for me. Especially first time. I went there with my classmates as final review. Because I have finals next week. It was reasonable to spend money for exhibition only! Except customer service. I didn’t like there is no coat check for group. When we arrived they said «Sorry, we don’t do coat check for you guys. Because you came with a group tour. No coat check for groups!» That was unacceptable. It’s okay for everyone except groups! Seriously?! We just wanted to walk freely. not to walk with bags :(

Really awesome place! Perfect for any medical professional or anyone who has interest in the body.

Worthwhile exhibit.
I saw a similar display in Singapore many many years ago, and remember being in awe. I was worried that the Discovery Center exhibit would be touristy and gimmicky, and was pleasantly surprised that it offered a lot more than I expected. There were probably around 20 full adult bodies and various fetuses and cross sections /​pieces of different body parts.
I found a LivingSocial deal so tickets were only $ 18 ($ 22 if you wanted audio tour), which I think is more in line than the $ 27 box office price.
I’m very health conscious and like others have said, the exhibit does come off a little preachy (to the point where I wondered who was sponsoring this) but it’s all practical knowledge and is good advice, so I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that.
Interesting to see, may not be for the super faint of heart, but definitely a cool, out of the ordinary, thing to do.

Was a great experience for me, pre-​med student. Amazing opportunity to view these body parts close up and an early head start for me. I was a little disappointed how short it was.

My wife seen it in istanbul couple years ago and thats why she wanted me to see it but we were able to finish it around 40 minutes and she said she was able to finish the one in istanbul in around 2 hours so i wouldnt recommend the nyc exhibit save your money for something better…

Unique experience — Body Worlds will educate you while leaving you with plenty to think and talk about. Self donated these «polished cadavers» bring new fascination to the human body. You come across healthy vs unhealthy body parts — how can one ever smoke again? Embryo comparisons — 5 to 7 to 9 weeks. A woman who passed on five months pregnant is displayed with the unborn child — very strong stuff here.
As you pass from one exhibit to the next you are constantly reminded — through video and reading — how important it is — both physically and mentally — to maintain ones body.
Although expensive Groupon voucher will provide substantial savings — exhibit is worth the price regardless.

I’ve been dying to see one of these Bodies exhibits forever and I finally got the chance — this is the first one I’ve been to.
I loved it: visually, it was super cool and covered a ton of stuff. You need AT LEAST AN HOUR to look at and read all the stuff (wear comfortable shoes). I know some people had commented on this having a preachy tone but I didn’t think that was the case — an exhibit on the human body wouldn’t be complete without showing the effects of both healthy and unhealthy bodies and uh, you can REALLY see the effects of living an unhealthy lifestyle.
The exhibit itself is relatively small but there’s a LOT to read and see that makes it worthwhile.

The dead horse is fantastic!!!

The exhibit itself was okay. Interesting, yes, but I could take it or leave it. The major con was the message it sent about «health». I’d consider giving it 3 stars for the price and what was contained in the exhibit.
The reason for 1 star is the staff. Particularly the gift shop lady. I went here today in blizzard-​like conditions. The paper bag I had with a small gift from a different store had ripped open from the weather conditions. I asked for a plastic bag and she gave me attitude. First claiming she couldn’t give me a bag «just for my coat». When I explained it wasn’t for my coat she then claimed I needed to buy something to get a plastic bag. I just payed $ 27 to see the exhibit and I could not have the courtesy of a stupid plastic bag?
Instead of buying something cheap to get the bag I decided to just leave. Clearly she wasn’t interested in costumer service. It’s a museum, that I just paid to see, not a small business.
I just dislike rude customer service, particularly over trivial things, and for that reason if I had it to do over I would have spent my money to see. Something else.

Ugh.
I’d never been to any of these plasticine body exhibits, but have wanted to for a while. I was really disappointed in this one, though, as was my boyfriend. Certain aspects of other exhibits (like a full circulatory system) weren’t there.
But the biggest irritation was how preachy the whole exhibit felt. It seemed an awful lot like a lecture on weight and diet and stress and general health.

WOW.
Loved the exhibit. Was interesting seeing and learning about the human body in a way I never thought possible. Tons of examples, from inception of life all the way to the end. All the different body parts, really cool.
May be creepy to some, seeing dead people skinned or blackened lungs from cigarette smoke, but I found it both informative and interesting.
