I’m really happy I was able to find a great Thai restaurant out here in Kansas! We either dine in or order for take out at LEAST once a month. Our usual go to order is the deep fried potstickers, papaya salad(hot), shrimp pad Thai, and their«drunken noodles». Baan Thai never disappoints us!

We arrived at 10:45 a.m. this morning. I anticipated that the restaurant would not open until 11:00, so we were pleasantly surprised to find it open. We were promptly seated in a very comfortable booth by a pleasant young woman. At this early before noon, we were the first customers in the store. By 11:30 a.m., a dozen people had come to the restaurant, so I realized it was a popular location. We ordered an appetizer of pot stickers to share. I read a previous review that reported they didn’t like the pot stickers because they are deep fried. Yes, I know pot stickers are steamed, but I thought these were the best pot stickers I had every ordered in a restaurant. Perhaps it was the dipping sauce, but these are good. When we visit a new Thai restaurant, one or both of us usually selects the pad thai in order to compare to what we consider to be the best pad thai noodles. We each ordered the pad thai noodles at Baan Thai and agree they are very good, with large cut spring/greens onion pieces, a portion of cabbage and carrots and crushed peanuts. The large portions could easily be shared by two people. We both ordered medium spicy for the pad thai noodles. In my opinion, the medium was closer to what I would describe as hot. I believe that if we had not mentioned a level of spice preference, and had allowed the chef to prepare them for us, then we would have had a better experience with the flavorfulness of the dish.

Food is great. My daughter made a mess on the floor and as I was nicely cleaning it up I noticed an entire ant colony of ants. Mentioned it to our waitress it was no concern of hers and her reaction made it clear they were aware of the issue. If this is how the dining area is and how they handle things and they don’t care about it I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like. Needless to say as amazing as the food is we won’t be back.

Baan Thai is decent food that definitely satisfies a craving for Thai food. We’ve tried a lot of different menu items, and have liked all of them.

One of the best Asian restaurants in town. Not the best Thai I’ve had(though that was insanely authentic and hard to beat), but still good. Pad Prik Pow D16 is unique and excellent. Angry cowboy is awesome. Noodle dishes are average. Some entrees are a little small and more Chinese-like and not as exciting as described. EXCELLENT appetizers with a crispy homemade wrapper(rolls and rangoons). Good service. Small area but clean.

For Thai food in this area Baan Thai I’d the best choice. The food is good, the location too, I just wish the inside was more inviting. I like the Larb Gai salad, the fries tofu and satay are yummy. Good choice also for carry out if the craving hits.

One of my favorite stops in town. The pumpkin curry and Thai iced tea/coffee are among my favorites whenever I go!

I have eaten here before and ordered for delivery today. I ordered medium heat and recieved a dish that ranks among one of the hottest I’ve ever tried to eat. Heat without flavor is not pleasant. The dish, chicken Pad Woon Sen, had virtually no chicken in it, either. I am very disappointed.

Solid food and reasonably priced for it’s quality. Probably the best ethnic food of any culture that I’ve found in this town. Green curry came with good heat. Pad Thai was balanced and delicious, though the shrimp were slightly over cooked. The peanut curry was good too. Well prepared and not just like someone mixed peanut butter and coconut milk. It’s worth a shot if you like foreign food and haven’t got the right fix in Manhattan yet!

This restaurant is almost always busy — a testament to its quality and value. Fortunately, they have enough seating that you rarely have to wait for more than about 5 minutes for a table. We’ve been getting takeout lately since there’s enough food for two with each meal. We love the chicken fried rice, spicy(cowboy?) noodles, cashew chicken and pad cra pow(the last being my personal favorite).

Baan Thai is a good place for casual dining. I came here with three friends on a Saturday afternoon. It was busy, but our food came out quickly. We ordered Shrimp Tom Yum, Chicken Pad Thai, Angry Cowboy, and Pork Pumpkin Curry. My favorite was the Pumpkin Curry; it had a nice creamy and spicy flavor. The Tom Yum was bland; I think they added too much water. And the Pad Thai was too liquidy, basically drowning in sauce. I would give us place another shot, maybe try another location.

This is one of our favorite restaurants! I was never a fan of Thai food until eating here! My favorite dish is their peanut curry. It’s delicious! The pumpkin curry is also good. The garlic shrimp is very flavorful and delicious as well. My favorite appetizers are the crab rangoon the house sampler. The Khao Soi is amazing! Service is always fast and friendly. You can adjust the temperature of the food. I like mine mild and sometimes I feel like they don’t pay much attention to the request because it still comes out spicy, but the food is so delicious, I just deal with it. It would be nice if mild were truly mild, but this is still my favorite restaurant in Manhattan.

Coming from Cali where everything tastes better, this place is pretty decent compared to other Asian or Thai spots around. The lady workers here are def. rude as f**k. So i like to order to go.

I loved what I ordered here! I had it delivered so I can’t comment on the eat-in. The food is great though! First of all, if its available order the Sticky Rice & Mangoes… So delicious! I had the Pad Thai and it was perfect. I can’t wait to go back and try the Papaya Salad, for me, if they make it right, that’s how you know its good Thai but so far, I have nothing but good things to say about this place.

The food is great and has a great balance of all the Thai flavors of sweet spicy sour, etc. You can also get good Thai beer there as well. It is a very small, unfancy place so don’t come with a large group of people. If you come during peak dining hours, do expect to wait a while. I will continue to eat there when I visit Manhattan.

I’ve eaten at Baan Thai several times with friends and family. Every time, the food has been tasty, hot, and fresh. The crazy noodle(usually on the specials board) is a really delicious spicy noodle dish. Eric R. is very happy with the beef penang that he loves so dearly. I have gotten a beef salad with a side of rice a few times which has been very delicious. The salad is even spicy! My friend Hannah J. asked the Thai server for a spice level«like she likes her men — HOT!» and her fried rice was too spicy for her — she could not even eat her words! Overall, the food is good, whether fresh spring rolls, noodle dishes, curries, or salads. Check the specials board and don’t forget the Thai iced tea!

Writing to you again from America’s butthole… I felt like Thai for dinner… Looked up this spot and saw it had decent reviews… So I decided to give it a try… My expectations were low… But Kansas has had a few pleasant surprises… I digress… I walk in… It’s a small place… And it wasn’t super busy… I was starred at by two of the waitresses and NOT greeted… –1 star… I sat down… And it took a about 10 minutes before I was even asked did I want something to drink… Another –1 star… I happened to notice the white patrons were seated immediately when they walked in…(Side note I REALLY hate writing reviews based on race… But racism is still alive and well… So I’ll call it like I see it…) Finally placed my order… Drinks came out pretty quick… I had the displeasure of sitting next to these college kids that were so loud with their conversation… College kids suck… Glad I’m not one anymore… Food came… The Pad Thai was ok… I asked for limes… And this chick brought me out ONE slice of lime in her hand… Like put it in a friggin dish! I asked for 2 more… She brought me out one… By hand again… All in all the food is decent… But the customer service is butt…

The best place to get authentic Thai food in Manhattan, KS! I ordered the Gang Gha Ree(Yellow Curry, mild spice) which was«Yellow curry in coconut milk with potatoes and onion.» This was delicious! This curry was more liquid than paste, but the taste was not diluted. I also tried my friend’s Tom Kha Gai which is «Coconut soup with chicken or shrimp($ 1.00 extra), straw mushrooms, kalanka, lemon grass, kaffir lime leaves, cilantro, and lime juice. Topped with two roasted, dried chili peppers» and I fell in LOVE! I am a person who is usually 100% AGAINST coconut, but for some reason, this soup was so flavorful and good, without the coconut overpowering it. The décor inside was very cool — they had a pagoda design with lots of long drapes. There was a lot of booths and tables and the staff was very nice. I’m excited to go back to try this place again.
