Tiny place. and I mean TINY! Not a great view either. There was one bartender/server for the place so not great service either. Tons of better places around to go to, so skip this one

Quiet, clean rooftop bar. Friendly server; garish orange décor, but pleasant breeze and outdoor feel compensated for someone’s decorating mistake. Reasonable prices($ 11-$ 15) per glass. Chardonnay was good, as was the Pinot Noir. Shrimp appetizer tasty. Quiet respite, if not an oasis, from the busy Columbus Circle area.

Beautiful(but cozy) rooftop. Get here early in order to snag a nice section. Limited food menu but delicious cocktails! No dress code!

My first impression was a little disappointed. It’s SO small and the Orange walls, floral cushions, and TV felt like a Holiday Inn to me. It did not feel cozy to me like the other reviews mentioned… but was fine. The cocktail menu only has a few specialty drinks on it, but the bartender said he could make anything. I did have a delicious lychee martini from the menu. The food comes from Blue Ribbon Sushi in the lobby of the hotel. So there is Sake and Japanese beer on the menu too. The wings were amazing(large, crisp, well seasoned) and had a unique honey wasabi sauce on the side. I’m not sure how it would be on a Sat night with great weather and more people. It was empty for two of us at 5pm which was great for attentive service. I would go back if in the area but I would not go out of my way. 3 stars is for ambience. I would give 4 for food and drinks.

I wanted a quiet place to have a few drinks with some old friends before dinner, one who I haven’t seen in months(and incidentally, lost her voice!). This place was perfect, just walk up to the hotel and take the elevator up to RD. The space is super cozy, the drinks were really good and it never, ever, got crowded. So if you’re looking to avoid any crowds, and be able to have a conversation without shouting at your friends, come here.

Whomp whomp and more whomp. If C was able to walk a little bit further, I wouldn’t have picked this place to go to, but we were here and this place is a joke. I seriously thought it was going to be cute or whatever, but it is a makeshift bar and the cava here sucks. I should have just gone home…

has the feel of a mellow house party. the place can fit 20, MAYBE30 people max into a cozy setting on the balcony. The furniture is nice and modern, and even though i’m not big on interior design, i could tell this person really knew what they were doing. It’s a balcony with café lights strung across, open air when i went, but on cold nights or rainy nights, i’ve been told the windows close off and suddenly its an indoor bar. my favorite part though is that they don’t feel the need to bump up the music to the point where you’re yelling just to have a conversation. For me, working professional in my late 20’s, it’s the absolute perfect bar, the best i’ve ever been to. Actually i’d been looking for a place like this in LA, only to be disappointed many times. If you’re from LA, imagine the perch, but smaller, with better furniture, quieter, less crowded, less lines, decent pricing(i think $ 13 for a cocktail). And you get to do it in manhattan, like a block from columbus square

Seriously?!? It’s Saturday night and I was looking for a roof top bar with my wife… This place is at roof level, but enclosed like a small apartment with a balcony style patio(6×6). Maybe it’s cool for some, but as a 34year old celebrating my 5th anniversary, I was hoping for a little more. Unless you’re bringing the party, or at least a conversation, I recommend moving along to the next NYC bar. PS The drink prices apparently got the raise your boss forgot to give you… Enjoy!

Hombre!

I thought about not writing a review for this place because I want it to stay forever hidden from a mass influx of people. That’s how much I love this little rooftop bar on top of the 6 Columbus hotel. The place is tiny; it could probably hold 20 people at max. Yet it is well-decorated and has a cozy and warm feel to it. There is definitely no crazy crowd fighting for seats, waiters’ attentions, etc. and yelling at each other to get their words across the table. I visited on a Thursday night at around 8 with a group of friends, and we got to grab a large, comfy couch and a long table just for ourselves with no wait at all. The roof is retractable, so it is open whether it shines or rains. If the weather permits, you can get out to the balcony on the side of the bar and enjoy a nice view of the Columbus Circle area as well as the general midtown area. The drinks are reasonably priced by NYC standard. They may not be the most creative, delicious drinks, but they are certainly some of the better ones I’ve tried. I also got to try a bit of the chicken wings my friend ordered. They were pretty good and had a sizeable enough portion that left two girls quite full at the end. There is only one bartender/server so it was a bit hard to get her attention at times, but she was quite attentive and fast with service overall. In sum, a GREAT spot to chill with your friends/dates at night. I highly recommend it to anyone who is tired of waiting in line for hours and hours to get into some of the more well-known rooftop bars around the city.

Located on the top floor of the 6 Columbus Hotel is this rooftop bar. Compared to others this one is in a small intimate setting. Décor is rustic with a few seating areas. Bartender was very nice, drinks are fairly priced and music was not loud at all. Great place for a drink after work.

Great hideaway rooftop spot. Went on a Saturday night and there was barely anyone there. Cozy setting with a cute view. The drink I ordered was a little weak, so next time I would go for the wine. Our server was not that energetic either, but it wasn’t a big deal. There is also a restaurant on the first floor if you get hungry. It’s also right near the subway so it’s a great stop before heading home. I would definitely go back there with some friends.

Pro: cute little rooftop bar at the hotel. Seating in the whole place is for maybe 20 people. Though even on a Saturday night in the summer I never had a problem getting a seat, it’s just never truly crowded. And I came during the week once and it was literally empty. The place has a Japanese theme when it comes to the drinks and décor. Con: the main con is that the mixed drinks(mostly sake-based) simply aren’t that good, IMO. If you have sake or beer you’re probably in much safer territory, and they have a pretty extensive menu when it comes to those. Also they close at 11 or 12 pm. Bottom line: go for the nice view/outdoorsness in the summertime, but stick with something familiar to drink.

Great after work place to grab drinks with a co-worker, friend or loved one. Great for small groups. Ask for Dylan who runs the show upstairs. Excellent bartender and accommodated the rain situation by closing the roof. Great place to all listen to the rain too! Stay for a casual dinner with their full sushi menu and delish green tea crème brûlée. Dylan even gave us control of the TV. Would love to have a DJ up there or a better music selection. Otherwise, I’m definitely going back regardless.

Definitely a hidden gem. It’s small space and a limited bar — not a lot of cocktail options(they did make a mean hummingbird though). I think the décor and space are quite charming and it’s a great place to relax and chat with friends, especially if you work/live in the area.

I’m always looking for an unknown rooftop bar, and above 6 fit the bill. Unknown rooftop at a relatively unknown hotel in the shadow of giants in Columbus Circle. When we arrived in the lobby, the Blue Ribbon hostess was kind enough to lead us to the elevator and key card us upstairs. Once there, it was as if we had our own private terrace. The space was intimate without being too small and though the drinks were quite expensive, you might expect that from a place where the server appears to be there only for you. The décor could use some styling, as it felt European hostel-inspired, and the music too.

I can’t believe how quiet this stunning venue was. Middle of summer, got a seat easily, sat back, drank bubbles and felt on top of the world. I was traveling from Australia and chose this place as we were dining at per se after. Check out the photos to see just how magical this place is. Loved…

It’s nice to have more and more outdoor entrants into the Columbus Circle area. However, I would probably only go here if friends wanted, but not necessarily suggest it. The outdoor space is small. If you’re going to arrive immediately after work, it’s fine. As a girl who wears heels, anything after 8pm and you will either need to have a reservation or «work it» to find seating space. There are actually 2 balconies. 1 is well maintained. The second is not. Seriously, if the plant is brown despite being in direct sunlight 20+ floors above Manhattan in a luxury hotel then management just didn’t bother to take a look and modify or water or what have you. It could also be that without wait staff there, drunken customers have accidentally poured alcohol in these poor plants and it’s killed them. Either way, the second balcony looks like the ugly stepchild to the first. As for the pricing on the cocktails, I’m fairly desensitized at this point. However, to clarify other posts, it’s inaccurate to price them at $ 12, as they tend to be more in $ 12 – 25(for champs). I think beer clocks in at the normal $ 10 – 12, though for these types of places. I can’t recall. The attractive balcony is gorgeously decorated though. It has the feel of a home patio. It is, however, very small and the booths are often reserved. If you’re going to go with any sort of group, you’ll want to reserve or else just be standing hanging out. Given the set up, I can’t see the vibe every being too energetic or aggressive. For a 6pm-8pm set, I can see it being a cozy starter place to unwind and have a real conversation. There isn’t any ubtrusive music and the view plus the breeze from being up in the air is wonderful. On the late, given the lack of space and single bar set up, if this gets crowded at all, I think it will become an uncomfortable, game of sardines in heels. Not so much my thing.
