Went there on a Friday night with reservations. We were seated pretty promptly. I liked the lighting and the bustling ambiance. It’s sort of loud if you’re looking for a romantic date place. The waitresses and waiters are on it man. They were always speed walking past us to bring ppl food. I really liked my poached pear salad. Nice balance between sweet pear salty cheese and healthy mixed greens. Also got the msg pizza. That was not that good. It wasn’t bad but it definitely was one note. Had to douse it with pepper flakes which they brought out very quickly. The pumpkin cheesecake was pretty good. A little on the tart side. I would come back because the service was so good and the salad was just right. Would want to try the entrees.

First visit to tin roof bistro, SUCCESS! Greeted by a very nice hostess that was about two feet tall, she seated me and then stayed long enough to share her thoughts on the menu. Really a great start… The place itself is dripping with fun lamps and oversized wine bottles, the centerpiece being an overdone bar build in that sets a great theme of high end casualness. Still great… Then I meet Christine, she immediately takes my order adding her own thoughts to my selection, promptly delivers my drink and checks in with me four times over the course of my meal. Really great… The plate is slid onto the table and I’m greeted not only by a scent of tangy sauce and tasty cheeses, I’m rewarded with just a beautiful example of what a meal should look like. Awesome… Then I take a bite… Perfection. Temperature is hot and meaty the flavor is sharp and satisfying. A perfect lunch experience, do try it! In and out one person for $ 20 Top notch!

Visited Tin Roof Bistro today for lunch, and overall it was a very pleasant experience. It’s located in the Manhattan Village, tucked away into a corner next to a wine shop and Susie Cakes, and parking is very easy to find. Dining is available indoors and outdoors, and the exterior of the restaurant is decorated with beautiful assortments of herbs, grapevines, and flowers. The ambiance is quaint and slightly rustic, with a country-feel, making for a very cozy spot to grab brunch through dinner. Casual attire is definitely okay here, but if you truly wanted to dress up a little, you’d still fit right in. The food selection for lunch was pretty extensive with a wide variety of starters, salads, pizzas, sandwiches and main entrees. I ordered the bistro lunch special which offers a half sandwich, green or caesar salad, and a choice of soup for $ 10.50. The wine and beverage selection is extensive, so that’s also a plus. Just a heads up, I don’t think theres a kids menu. We had two children dine with us and they both ordered adult selections(sandwich with french fries and pizza). There’s a cheese pizza on the normal lunch menu at $ 12.75 that’s rather big, and easily splittable amongst any child diners or enough for one with leftovers for later. The dessert selection isn’t too big, but at $ 4.25 each, it’s worth trying one of each if your party is large enough. The dessert portions can be shared if you’re not feeling too hungry, but are also small enough to be enjoyed alone. We tried the fresh baked apple crisp and blueberry ginger pie. The service was great! Our server was quick, attentive, and checked on our table often. The food arrived quickly our glasses were always full. That alone was extremely nice because it’s annoying having to constantly try to flag down your server for refills. My experience: The green goddess sandwich was refreshing, with turkey, red romaine lettuce, and a creamy green goddess aioli. I chose the caesar salad, and was at first a little surprised by what little dressing it comes with, but it turned out to be perfect. The french onion soup though… I wasn’t too happy with. I couldn’t quite put my finger on why it didn’t taste right, but it just wasn’t to my liking. The others I dined with shared my sentiments and didn’t finish theirs either. For me, it was a little too thick, and more on the salty side, while others said it was too sweet. But hey, it could just be us, so definitely give it a try just in case. The ahi salad was also really good, and a pretty decent portion size for lunch at $ 17.00. The tuna melt was also interesting as it’s an open face concept and an eat-with-a-knife-and-fork type of deal. The tuna seemed really fresh though, and not the type you get out of can which was really nice. I didn’t get to try the fries, but I saw the servers carry out a few plates with them past our table and they looked really good. As far as desserts, the presentation is cute for pictures, and probably like a 7 or 8⁄10. The bittersweet chocolate mousse and blueberry ginger pie come stacked in a clear cylindrical glass, whereas the baked apple crisp comes served in a cute white ceramic bowl. My only complaints with the dessert presentation are that(at least for the blueberry ginger pie) it’s a little difficult to eat because everything is layered in a narrow container and so you kind of have to just smash everything together. Obviously it’s not the end of the world, but I’d definitely give it a 4 or 5⁄10 for execution, lol. Otherwise, the flavors are good. The ice cream is your pretty run-of-the-mill vanilla, but the blueberries are whole which was yummy, and the ginger pie crust in the center added a nice crunch to offset the blueberry filling. The apple crisp is warm with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. Overall, the experience was pleasant, and the food, service and atmosphere all complimented each other well. I’ll definitely be back to check out their happy hour(4pm to 7pm every day!) and dinner selections in the future.

My friend and I decided to come here on a Saturday afternoon and we were seated right away. I haven’t been here since my last review so I thought it was time to try this place again. We started with the Indian-Spiced Spinach Dip. Usually these dips use chopped spinach to make it «dip-able» but they don’t do that here. The spinach comes in its complete form which makes it hard to scoop onto the bread that it comes with. You have to use a fork to get it on the bread. The taste is good though so I’d recommend it anyways. For our main courses, I got the lasagna with sausage(which is why I come here) and the fish and chips. The lasagna comes with a complete layer of spinach which is good but after eating the dip with spinach… I was starting to feel like Popeye. I wouldn’t order these two courses together again. Just too much. However, the lasagna was really good unlike on my previous visit. The fish and chips looked excellent and my friend enjoyed it. The service was pretty good. We weren’t in a rush and we were free to take our time. I’m glad that we decided to stop by.

Came here on a double date with some friends and had to wait a bit to be seated but it was moving fast. We got seated in the back toward the kitchen and I have to say they were very accommodating. We had friends join us at the end of the night and they were seated at the table right next to us. That worked out very well. Manhattan Beach Cobb — romaine, tender chicken morsels, bacon, grapes, walnuts, celery, crispy shallots, avocado & a combo of herb vinaigrette & homemade blue cheese dressing. My wife really enjoyed it and would definitely get it again. Lamb Bolognese with Pappardelle — homemade pasta, sauteed spinach, shaved parmesan, 12-hour sauce. The meat was very tender and delicious. The pasta was made in house and you can taste the freshness. It was an amazing dish full of hearty flavors and very filling. Would definitely get it again. French Onion Soup — homemade french onion soup with swiss, mozzarella & parmesan cheese. The broth was a little to sweet for me and not sure if I would order this specific soup again but I do have to admit, it was loaded with cheese. You can never go wrong with to much cheese. If In the area give this place a try. You might have to wait a bit but it’s well worth it.

Coming here has become part of my routine when I pick up my sister from the airport. Located in the Manhattan Village Plaza this place really sticks out. As soon you walk up one gets that vineyard type feel. Gorgeous exterior with a cute little patio to go along with it. The interior is an open space masterpiece. The dim lighting really compliments the décor. I have tried most of the items on the menu and really can’t complain. Pizzas are the hot item here but you can’t go wrong with anything here. I really enjoy dessert but not when it’s served in a cup witch is my only complaint. If you like to dine alfresco they have nice large patio in the back that can accommodate large parties. I use to hate picking up people from the airport until I found thesis gem.

I’ve been here for different occasions, but I think its best either for dates or celebratory family gatherings(ie. graduation, birthday, etc). Dates bc its a perfect mesh of classy, charming, rustic and romantic. Family gatherings bc its fancy and your mom will be pleased. Trust me. Wine list is gargantuan.(Reservations highly recommended) We had the lamb bolognese, scallop and iron steak. Golden beets salad and firecracker shrimp for appetizers, Keenan Merlot to wash it all down. Everything was very delicious, attentive service as well. Only downside is the volume; most nights I’ve been there it got pretty loud inside, but there’s always outside seating if you’re into that.

Walked in and there was a 25-minute wait. The restaurant is an open space with a bar, patio and seating outside in the back of the establishment. Smells magnificent when you walk in. There’s a flourishing herb garden in the front of the restaurant. The front patio has heat lamps and blankets for patrons. A very inviting place from the front. We had Jamaican mules and the Mezcal drink. Fantastic libations. We started off with the brussel sprouts and French onion soup. Wine braised short ribs and vegetable spring rolls. The food was pretty good. Several servers checked out our party. The service was fairly quick. I would come again!

Tried this place 3 times now and although I absolutely love their décor. unfortunately I cannot share the same enthusiasm for their food. –Brussels sprouts is a must order! –Spicy tuna spring rolls. It’s pretty basic, I’d skip it –French onion soup. waaaaaay too salty! –Seared ahi salad. meh, just your typical salad –Margarita pizza. again, meh! –Lamb sausage pizza. friend said it was delicious and I trust his judgment –Wild mushroom ravioli. I would def recommend this one! The celery root purée is so dang good! –Blueberry ginger pie. I normally do not like pies but this is out of this world! Def must order! I really want to like this place but the food is just average and the service can be a hit or miss depending on how busy they are. I’ve only been here for dinner and they’re always busy so perhaps service might be better during their lunch hours? Maybe I’ll come back for their HH

Came here last night, and it was packed, but luckily the wait for two was about 30 minutes so that was too bad. Once it was our turn to be seated, we got greeted by our server a couple minutes later. He was very nice and always checked on us and was helpful as well with the menu. We ordered the Brussels sprouts, haystack fries and the short ribs. The Brussels sprouts were so delicious and had a nice lemon sauce that it came with, this is a most to order! The haystack fries were okay, I’m not a fan of blue cheese but my BF wanted to try them. And the short ribs were so good! It was nice and tender and the broccoli Nit came with was good as well. I would definitely recommend others to come.

This place is amazing!!! It is a very large restaurant with plenty of seating indoor or patio seating in the front and back(with options for heaters). The ambiance is so great! It has a big open kitchen where you can watch the chefs prepping the food!!! The menu items all look amazing and it’s so hard to decide what to get. They don’t have green tea– which was kinda disappointing. I got soup and salad and it was delicious. I can’t wait to go back!!!

Its been a while since we have frequented our old stomping grounds. Got in late from a flight and wanted to grab something to eat before everything closed. Lots of new choices in the area and attempted to go to Superba, BUT despite them claiming they are open until 11pm, they closed their kitchen at 10pm. Pssh. We went back to restaurant with proper customer service, Tin Roof, and they did not disappoint. Despite it being after 10pm and closing at 11pm, they offered«no problem» to feeding us. Perfect. We started with a round of «Mrs. Robinson’s.» Love the name. Don’t let the Pink vodka cocktail fool you, its STRONG; what an apropos name. Started w/Indian-Spiced Spinach Dip. Large dish and could easily be a dinner. They give you plenty of flat bread to spread the spinach/cheese/curried cream dip. It was very good. After such a large starter, I opted for the Seared Ahi Salad. The Ahi was Very Good and prepared just right, despite it being such a late hour. Service was spot on and Tin Roof remains one of my local MB favorites.

Stopped in for lunch today and took a seat at the bar, I leave for lunch a bit early to get good seating at places in the southbay and that serves me well for this popular place as no sooner that I get my order in than a steady stream of folks make there way in! I had a new item today, the Poached Pear Salad which is a new dish by Chef Santos Navarro. Simply put, it hit the spot! It looked inviting, proper portioned, and all very fresh. *thumbs up*! I uploaded a pic for you to drool over this, haha! Note: get in here on the weekend and try their bourbon sangria!

I’d probably give this about 2.5 stars to be honest. It wasnt bad, but by this 5 point scale, yes I’ve definitely had better. To start with, the service isnt very friendly. It wasn’t rude, but no one there seemed to be in a mood to smile or ask how we were. It took longer than I thought was acceptable to even be seated, particularly when they weren’t crowded. The food took much longer to come out than I would have expected, again, particularly so in light of the small number of people there. I actually think our waitress forgot to put our order in. When the food finally came out, my jaw dropped at the sight of the fish & chips. I’ll attach a photo so you can see. For $ 20.50 you get TWOTINY pieces of fish. I thought it was a joke. At that price point I expected much more. I will say the fish was really tasty, but way overpriced. The fries were good, the Napa cabbage slaw was inedible. yech. How does this place rate two«$$» when you pay $ 10 per piece of thumb-sized fish? My wife had the tuna melt. It turned out to be open-faced, which we werent expecting because that’s not what it says on the menu. It was okay, nothing particularly special. None of our food was seasoned well, we ended up putting quite a bit of salt and pepper on everything. After lunch we literally walked across the parking lot and ate more food at Brickworks. We both wished we had chosen to eat there instead. My wife had been to Tin Roof a couple of times and said she liked it, so we werent sure what was going on that day. If I go back I definitely wont get the fish & chips again. To be honest, I would be hard to get me back in there with Brickworks so close and so tasty.

I came here for two items that I read about on Unilocal: the Squash Soup and the Caramelized Brussels Sprouts. Only was able to try one of the two items since the squash soup is seasonal. The Brussel Sprouts were one of the best I have ever had. The table was fighting for the last ones except for of my co-workers who was just eating the toast at the bottom of the dish. Weirdo! For my main lunch entrée I ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwich with shoestring french fries. The chicken was tender and the batter used was very good. Unfortunately I was too full to try one of their desserts. I guess my only complaint was that our waiter, Scott, did not refill or offer to refill all of our soft drinks. Not a biggie because he left us with a bottle of water.

I must say, i was thoroughly impressed with this restaurant. It sort of reminds me of small Spanish style cantina type restaurant however the ambiance is very festive and lively. The restaurants service was fantastic and the food was amazing. I had the shrimp with avocado appetizer and the lamb sausage pizza. Both were amazing. There was no need for a to-go bag because every single thing ordered was eaten. I would highly recommend that you make reservations as this place becomes packed after 6:30. Enjoy.

One of our favorite dining spots in the South Bay. Food is always well prepared, but reservations are a must as this place is always packed. Our favorites are the sea bass, the Simmzy’s burger, and their golden beet with baby arugula and farro salad. Prices are reasonable for the quality and portions are generous. Parking is convenient as this restaurant shares the same open parking lot as the Manhattan Village Plaza in Manhattan Beach. They have a nice seating area in the outside patio with heaters to keep you cozy.

I met a friend at Tin Roof Bistro for lunch on Saturday. This restaurant is beautiful. I loved the charming garden in front labeled with chalkboard signs to let you know whats growing there(see my photos). Inside I was pleased with its posh but casual décor– especially the cool bar area. The food was quit enjoyable. We ordered roasted Brussels sprouts to start– they were awesome. I had the French Onion soup– very tasty. For my main entrée I ordered the fig and pig pizza– loved it! It was a flat bread topped with bacon, fig, Gorgonzola cheese with a balsamic reduction. So good. My friend the the Tomato bisque soup and pear salad– she said it was great. All and all– it was a lovely experience. This was a perfect place for a Saturday afternoon lunch with one of my favorite people on the planet. I need to come back for happy hour or dinner asap. A note about our experience: I can’t say enough about the importance of customer service. We were greeted and seated promptly and had a super sweet and attentive server. She even brought me a club soda when she saw I spilled soup on my white blouse. Yeah– I did that. Anyway, Tin Roof Bistro is a delightful restaurant with great food and excellent service. I totally recommend this place!

I was staying at a hotel close by here last week so I of course turned to Unilocal to find out where I should go for dinner. I typically go down to the Main Street and area in Manhattan Beach for dinner but as you know, parking can sometimes be difficult. The reviews and pictures looked good here so I decided to check it out. It was quite busy for a Tuesday night especially considering it was the first week of the New Year. I sat at the bar where a nice server, Lorenzo recommended a few delicious wines for me, I went with the Poppy Pinot Noir. I looked through the menu and noticed several things I’d seen images of but once I see Brussels sprouts on a menu, I have a hard time looking any further. Oooh these Brussels were good and a very generous portion as well. Before receiving this dish I was going to go for a cup of the French onion soup and another dish but after thoroughly enjoying the decent sized dish of Brussels, I realized I didn’t need a big meal. There were a few things I was looking at but Lorenzo highly suggested the spring rolls and said they were one of his favorite things on the menu and was he right! There’s 5 pieces with delicious tuna and a great dipping sauce, easily a shareable dish. The atmosphere here is great, there’s plenty of parking with it being in the mall and you definitely get larger portions for a smaller cost compared to what you’d get in the main part of town. I’d been to Love & Salt the night before where I paid double the amount and had half the amount of food. I’ll definitely be back here when I’m back in MB!

Recently, we had the opportunity to dine at Tin Roof Bistro. It was New Year’s Eve and we were in search of a romantic restaurant that had a promising menu. Located in the Manhattan Village Shopping Center but not directly in the mall, you’ll find this cute restaurant nestled in the the parking lot. It is near the far end of the lot, on the corner of Sepulveda Blvd and Rosecrans Avenue. Parking won’t be an issue because you’ll just use the same lot as the mall patrons. As soon as we walked inside, we were greeted by our hostess. Our reservation was set for 7:00 but we arrived around 6:00 because we hadn’t anticipated light traffic that evening. Waiting a while to be seated due to our early arrival wasn’t an issue for us. Immediate seating on the patio underneath the heaters was offered to us but we chose to wait for a table inside since it was too cold outside. There isn’t a lot of indoor seating available for people to wait for a table to become available. Luckily, I was able to find a chair that had been placed near the door to sit on while we waited. They do have a bench outside of the restaurant but there wasn’t any type of heating above it so everyone waited indoors. The restaurant is small and cozy. Tables were very close together so you could totally hear guests conversations while you dined. Structural support columns near the tables had hooks attached to them to serve as coat hangers. Many guests politely hung their coats and sweaters up instead of placing them on the backs of their chairs. There were three types is seating arrangements: square table surrounded by four chairs, square table placed in front of a long bench seat, and in the far right was a table tucked away in a nook corner. Our hostess seated us within 15 minutes and we were excited to explore the menu. Several items peaked my interest but I wasn’t feeling too brave that night. Thankfully, our waiter was flexible with my dietary restrictions and we modified one of their menu selections. I was interested in the Lamb Bolognese with Pappardelle but I wanted to omit the lamb! So we substituted free range grilled chicken for the lamb. Like most great restaurants, you can start with any meal on their menu and modify it to meet your specifications! It didn’t take long for our meals to arrive. My boyfriend ordered the(Manhattan Beach) Cobb Salad and the Butternut Squash Soup. The salad was large enough to suffice for dinner. The(Chicken) Bolognese dish came out next and I was also given a side of freshly shredded Parmesan cheese. This added more flavor to the pasta! Tin Roof Bistro makes their own pasta so it’s not something that you’d find in the stores. The chicken was already sliced for me and well-cooked with a charbroiled surface. The chicken and pasta combination complimented each other well and I really enjoyed my meal. Our meals were very filling so we did not explore dessert options. Therefore, we asked for the bill. What surprised me was that the original lamb-based meal was around $ 21 but my modified meal was close to $ 10. It was labeled as a «kids pasta» meal on our receipt and that was pretty funny. The energetic environment at Tin Roof Bistro is what attracts locals to this location. It appears to be dog-friendly as one lady enjoyed her meal on the patio with her canine companion. They cater to your needs so that your visit here is memorable. You could tell that several parties in the restaurant were repeat customers. There’s a reason why Tin Roof Bistro is so popular and it comes down to their quality of service and food. You are their guests and their goal is to make your experience memorable! It’s an intimate setting that’s ideal for date night or dinner with close family and friends.
