R & R Flooring Group

They did the flooring and ceiling of my parents house with all wood and did an amazing job. They take time and care in their work and it shows. They even discussed with my parents what needed to be done to the floor since the ground was uneven, instead of just laying the wood on top without mentioning anything. There was thorough discussion between Robert and my parents to make sure the job was done to their expectations. The wood flooring and ceiling look very clean and beautiful. I don’t think I can imagine a better job.

Robert impressed me from the start. After previewing my Bixby Knolls (Long Beach) kitchen with its 1980s solarium vinyl flooring, he impressed me when he clearly explained the process of installing a new vinyl floor, shared the years of experience his group had in installing vinyl flooring, and offered good advice and options, such as base board options. He earned my trust by communicating effectively before and after the order, the delivery, and the installation done by father and himself. The project came within cost ($ 1000) and schedule (1 week) requirements as well as exceeded all my expectations. I am happy that I chose R&R Flooring group to help renew my kitchen.
I know that installing new flooring, whether it’s vinyl, carpet, or tile, can be stressful. I «shopped this job» with several vendors and happy with my experience with R&R Flooring.

I’d like to comment on the product (a finished job) but I can’t as we never got to that point.
I had been referred to this company by our family babysitter who had work done by this company and was pretty happy with the results.
Initially I was also impressed with how Robert, the sales person, followed up with me in trying to acquire the job. He was polite, courteous and prompt. He came over, measured the space, and sent me a quote as promised. I liked the quote so I decided to hire his company.
This is when things started falling apart.
There was little to no communication/​followup by Robert. I had to track him down to find out when the job was going to start.
Then on the day that the job was supposed to happen, his team never showed up. After several calls (I had stayed home from work to meet the workers) that morning and throughout the day, I finally heard from him around 7:30pm. He left me a voicemail saying that his father (who was the lead worker) had gotten sick with shingles (Goodness!). He was completely apologetic and embarrassed about the situation.
I’m not a stone, so I do empathize with Robert’s family/​work situation.
I would have been quite alright with rescheduling the job for a different date, but I NEVER HEARD BACK FROM HIM. NOTHING in 2 WEEKS. At least get back to me and say that you’re not going to be able to do the job at all if you feel it’s not a worthy job for you — I’d certainly respect you more.
After repeated calls and voicemails, I’ve finally given up. He’s lost my business and lost any favorable recommendations I would have given his company.
I’m thankful that no money exchanged hands so I’m not out anything except my time and energy. I’ll get the energy back.
I would proceed with EXTREME CARE if you decide to work with this company. I wouldn’t guess as to what you’re going to get with them.

R and R don’t keep their promise. robert lied about my completion date of when he would finish my flooring, tile and carpet. there was one week he didn’t even anwer the phone. He said one week it would be done it took 4 weeks. He could give me a model number of the carpet so I could compare prices or check if what he was giving me was really Shaw carpet. Everything about him was shady after he got my $.. Don’t use him if you want good service and thing done fast. worst experience ever

Update:
They did finally take care of what they promised, almost a year later. I can’t really upgrade the stars for that. And, just when I thought I should update my review, they promised my wife to send us a copy of the warranty information, but I still haven’t received it. Then they said it’s on the invoice (which I checked) and it’s not. I’m thinking they sold us third party carpet and claimed it was name brand Shaw.

I talked to the owner today and since he made issue of it with me, (I so didn’t appreciate the accusatory nature of it especially when it was false and presupposed) I want to be fair and clear, and state that– both my husband and I each wrote a 1 star review for this company regarding work done on our home. So same project, two Unilocalers. It may surprise him that we didn’t consult with each other or even ask the other to write or add a review.
The owner did finally get back in touch to supply us with and install our closet carpet which needed a replacement. 1 additional star.
We’re now waiting for the warranty docs which he promised to email us another copy of. The warranty is starting to look sketchy, especially after having talked to Shaw Carpets directly concerning it. I hope he follows through with something legitimate. Will update.
