The Glavin Law Office validates the stereotype of attorneys being unscrupulous, money-hungry people who care about nothing but billing their clients as much money as possible. We engaged Glavin for a very basic family law matter upon recommendation from a friend(who, it turned out later, also was billed an astronomical amount in his case). After Glavin had charged us almost $ 8,000, we started to ask more specific questions on what progress he had made. It turned out that there had been no progress at all. He had charged us almost $ 8,000 basically chatting with his associate lawyer(who by the way billed us for the same conversations) on how to fill out a basic form listing assets. We fired Glavin and hired a new lawyer with more experience who settled the case for us at approximately half the cost of what Glavin had charged us for filling out a short form listing our assets(and believe me, that is NOT a long or complicated list). So did our $ 8,000-form prepared by Glavin and his associate at least come in handy in the settlement negotiations? No, it was so full of mistakes that we started over and completed it ourselves in about two hours(at no cost other than our own time). Glavin is the worst example of vulture lawyers and his behavior should be considered malpractice.
