Owner/chef was warm and attentive. His food was delicate, fresh, and authentic. Both he and his wife speak with thick accents which add to the experience. We had the the Italian salad, lasagna, veal, tiramisu, and some very yummy wine. Everything was delicious! Love the intimate atmosphere. We will be back!

After being told about this place and reading the reviews, we decided to give it a go. The menu is perfect, small and a bit limited, but that’s how you know they are staying with fresh food and stick with their best. I had the lasagna and the meat sauce was delicious. Great couple that runs it. This place is outstanding and at a perfect price point. Can’t believe I didn’t know about this place and it’s been around for 8 years.

Folks, I have to tell you how amazed I was at chancing upon this restaurant. You see, we have lived in Italy and moved to the Mandeville area from there. Needless to say, I have been missing authentic Italian food and have been routinely disappointed by most of the restaurants and chains that serve Italian food here. So, we decided to go to Ceasar’s one evening with tempered expectations. Its nondescript location did not warm our spirits. We entered the restaurant and did not find it very busy either. We prepared ourselves to be disappointed again. Upon being seated, Mr Ceasar, the owner, came and explained to us that everything is prepared fresh. That is a good sign, because the genius of good Italian cooking rests mostly on good ingredients. Mr Ceasar would talk to the guests and then go back to the kitchen to cook the dishes. One can see, hear, and smell him cooking. This was another good sign. Mr Ceasar’s wife, Ms Roberta came to take our order. Upon her recommendations we decided to take the Lasagna for the first course. My wife chose the Grouper special for her main course whereas I settled for the saltimboca. We also selected a bottle of the Dolcetto d’Dolgiani. Everything changed as soon as the freshly made bread, wine, and lasagna arrived. This is hands down the freshest and the best lasagna I have ever had. The bread was so fresh that you could dust off the flour from the crust. The wine from Piedmont was delightful. My wife and I were brimming with excitement. The prospect of finding an authentic Italian restaurant was shining before us. But we could not let our hopes soar till the main course was tasted. Once the main course arrived, my wife kept raving about how fresh her fish was. My saltimboca transported me back to the alleys of Rome. The side dishes of spinach and cauliflower gratin were rich in taste and generous in portions size — particularly the cauliflower. We still managed to reign in our hopes saving the judgement until desert was tried. By this time most of the guest had departed. Mr Ceasar and Ms Roberta came and chatted with us in Italian. They made us feel welcome as if we were in their house. Soon Ms Roberta brought us a generous helping of the tiramisu. One spoon and both my wife and I went speechless. Our search was over! This is the most authentic Italian restaurant that you can find! I agree with others, this is a true and, sadly a somewhat hidden, gem. I wonder why this place is not more popular? Yes, it does not serve pizza or overtly saucy/cheesy food. It does not serve dishes like Trout with Nicholas sauce at Sal and Judy’s, which despite being a dish we like immensely, cannot lay any claims to Italian authenticity. Service can be a little slow, but those who appreciate fresh food understand that. Maybe not enough people have tried this restaurant yet. I hope you go and try. You shall have a taste of real Italian food and hospitality. Highly recommended!

Great food. Fresh and authentic tasting. Small menu, but that can be a good thing. I had fettuccine and it was light, not watery, but not the usual thick make you want to gag Alfredo sauce. cozy place, maybe ten tables total. The reason for 4 stars is because they were short handed. The chef was taking orders and seating guests. Only one waitress. They are looking for a waitress to hire.

We LOVE this place! This place is true Italian style dining: meaning, the food is made to order and is first come first served. You may wait a minute or an hour but it really doesn’t matter because it is about food as an experience and not as a quick bite. It is about having lingering conversations over amazing food made by the owners own hand and heart. His passion for the food makes ordinary. extraordinary.

No gnocchi or ravioli? So un-Italian in my opinion. Nothing on this menu makes me want to rush to eat here. Sorry to be negative, but fresh homemade bread doesn’t do it for me.

Great Italian. All the pastas and bread are hand made in the restaurant. He uses seasonal ingredients so everything is always fresh. It’s a small place with about 10 tables and Ceasar and his wife run the entire operation by themselves so don’t come in a hurry. Try the Bruschetta and make sure to try the desserts. If the cappuccino machine is running get Roberta to make you a cup of the best true Italian cappuccino you’ve ever had in Louisiana. Not your typical red sauce Italian place. Truly unique for this part of the country.

My new favorite! My wife and I made our first visit to Ceasar’s after reading a number of good reviews. It was Tuesday and virtually empty. We started the meal with a Bruschetta appetizer. Although the tomatoes could have been a tad riper, it was no issue because the Bruschetta was perfectly seasoned. For the main course, I ordered the CANNELLONIDIMAGRO and my wife ordered the CRESPELLE special. The homemade pastas were excellent and flavors exquisitely balanced. We ended our meal with a magnificent Tiramisu. I can not wait to return and try some of the many other dishes available! If your looking for a spaghetti and meatballs, this probably is not the place for you. But, if you want great authentic Italian I highly recommend Ceasar’s.

Located right off Hwy 22 in Mandeville and a bit hidden.. .. but a hidden gem. We were looking for a good Italian meal and not the usual fare on the North Shore. Ceasar’s was highly recommended by a friend of ours and it was amazing. Started off with appetizers — Bruschetta which is bread and tomato’s, olive oil. .. . over the top. I got the gorgonzola salad which here again was fresh and a good portion to be split with the wife. Main courses at the table were the Lasagna which was made from scratch and piping hot. You could tell the pasta was home made and not the store bought stuff. The wife got the breaded chicken breast which was pan fried perfect and a side of pasta. Can’t say more about this place — I compare our meal to what I have had in NYC and DC. Closed it out with the Semifreddo All’Amaretto Mouse which the waitress recommended — excellent. Small establishment but top notch service. Prepare to spend some time here as its all cooked fresh but well worth the wait. Easiest 5 stars I have ever given on Unilocal. Can’t wait to return.

You can’t get any better or more authentic than Ceasar’s. Everything is the freshest you can get! It’s all homemade and the atmosphere is quaint and comfortable. You really feel like you’re in Italy. Your meal’s length is very European as well, so be ready to really spend a quality night here. Ceasar will really cook anything you want, as well as recommend Italian wines and tell a story or two. It’s really a delightful experience. I can’t wait to return for some authentic Italian pasta and seafood dishes!

Caesar makes his own bread, pasta and lasagna daily. Really he or his wife make it all. Very authentic, very, very good. We always try to stop in when we are passing through. Not far off I-10 and so worth the stop. A little hard to find call for directions and hours. Caesar will call you back if you leave a message. I can’t wait to go back.
