North Country Inn & Suites

Right across the street from the train tracks. It is 1:30am right now and those trains are blowing their horn! Mandan was a town built on and around the tracks so this makes a lot of sense, actually, but it makes sleeping optional for light sleepers like me.
Very nice management. Very nice room (we lucked out with a suite!). Very reasonable rates. Only two skimpy towels for two not-​so-​skimpy people — but I’m sure we could have asked for more. Brand new flat screen tv. We were supposed to have HBO but couldn’t find it. Wifi fast and good, so we streamed Netflix instead. We found some AWESOME tennis courts at the Mandan Middle School and played tennis all afternoon. And then passed by an outdoor polka concert at the bandstand downtown. This town is funky. (We passed by Captain Jack’s sign for Cupcake Wine and tried to imagine what that might be…)
Overall, we would come here again if we pass through this town. Maybe earplugs for the train?

Nice rooms. Great management. Excellent value compared to other places in the area. Fridge, microwave and flat screen. Best value in Bismarck area!

The rooms are well cared for and have some nice touches. Our three nights here were exactly what we needed. The excellent Great Harvest Brazilian restaurant is a few blocks away and was a great place to spend some time.
