If you’re thinking of going to Turning Heads for your hair, go see Kelly! She is affordable, modern, creative and thorough. She’s got a great eye for what you should do with each hair type. I’ve been going to Kelly for almost 14 years and she’s never given me a bad haircut(except for the ONE time I MADE her give me 12 year old bangs –and she fought me the whole way). I now follow her advice blindly! Kel goes out of her way for her clients from hanging their coats up, grabbing water or even shifting her schedule around. She truly loves her profession and any salon would be lucky to host her chair!

I had my eyebrows done here– the only upside is the woman who did them admitted she messed them up(before I even saw them) and didn’t charge me anything. Anyways, I’m a very italian looking 21 year old who has never had thin eyebrows. I like my brows to be thicker as they bring out my hazel eyes. Well, my eyebrows are now pencil thin for the majority of them and there are a few holes throughout where hair should not have been pulled out. Thank god hair grows back, and thank god I know how to fill them in. I won’t be going back. Also, atmosphere wise they do your eyebrows in the sink where hair gets washed. I also disagree with the previous reviewer that says there is plenty of parking. There are about six spots and one handicap spot cramped in a small area.

Today I got a pedicure to make up for the manicure she messed up. Took her long enough to get back to me because I had to call her. She said she couldn’t refund my money for my botched nails so I had to get something for equal or greater value. So I choose a pedicure. Took her a bit to get to me as she was finishing up a manicure. So I sat in the small waiting room. Then she took me down stairs to where the pedicure area was. Most of the downstairs was storage except for a small room with two chairs for the pedicure area where I was going. The chairs were lame. They didn’t have a tub for your feet and there was no area for their tools and stuff. And the chairs themselves were uncomfortable and had little mats on them for the massage. But the massage was lame and it just pulsated and it didn’t feel very good. My chair was next to the closet which kept on opening. The magazines were all the gossip mags and they were all a few months old so it was kinda lame. The tech was very nice but she kept talking about her personal life the whole time. It was kinda awkward. I know she was just trying to be friendly so I tried to participate in her convo but it was weird. She did an ok job but it was awkward because she put my foot in a legit basket. And they had rocks in them so it wasn’t really comfortable on my feet. I would have rather have had some jets massaging my feet. Other than that she did an okay job. I’ve had better and I wouldn’t have went out of my way to go there. I’m glad I didn’t have to pay for it because it wasn’t worth what I would have had to pay. So now I know that the place as a whole isn’t worth it. It’s not only hard to find, parking is weird and their techs or at least the one I had doesn’t really get how to do her job. Which is weird because she kept on talking about all her regular clients but they mustn’t really like above average care. But I’m glad it’s over because now I don’t have to go back. I don’t recommend this place to anyone. I don’t understand why this place got such high reviews because of my experiences but I guess to each his own. But as for me I’m not going back, their are better places to go that are closer to me.

Really great place to get a hair cut for a very decent price. Honestly after moving back from LA, I was really skeptical about finding a good hair stylist but my worries were short lived after I found Turning heads. Robin did my hair and she was really open to listing and doing exactly what I wanted. She really listens to her customers needs and followed my directions closely. I was really impressed with the staff, they are really friendly and open to suggestions. I look forward to go see Robin soon!

If you go to this Salon DONOT let Anjali cut your hair!!! I went in with a picture of how I wanted my hair and walked out with my hair so short that I can’t do anything with it. I was in tears when she was finished. She was not apologeteic and didn’t appear to feel bad for how I was feeling. Another stylist heard me and she came over and did her best to do something with the hair. Another stylist, not Anjali tried to help me. I know it is onlyhair, but I am a 50+ yr old woman that was lookng for something cute and young and received a cut that I hate, hate, hate. I am really angry at Anjali and probably wouldn’t be so angry if she showed any sign of being sorry that I wasn’t happy with my hair, but she walked off and left me feeling badly.

I get my threading done here and they do a great job. I have only ever been to the mall and the woman here is very meticulious and pays attention, without rushing you out the door. The salon is pretty clean and the staff is friendly and professional. I also had a haircut by the same woman who did my eyebrows and she did a very good job. Considering I grew up around this industry and my mom owns a salon, she’s generally the only one who cuts my hair. She listened to me when I explained how I like my bangs and even did a free deep conditioning treatment.

Very convenient location just off South Willow with plenty of parking in their own lot. The spa staff makes you feel very welcomed the second you walk in. I had a amazing European facial by Kendall. She took her time, was very personable, and my skin felt amazingly soft after. She gave me recommendations based on my individual needs for products, none of which are sold at the spa. This to me is a sign of a great esthetician because she cared more about products that will benefit me rather than what the spa sold. The facial didn’t for some reason include the heated mitts as the website states. I didn’t realize this until after I left because the rest of the services were so great. I would recommend that the spa considering getting a white noise machine to block out some of the noise from the salon below. There is a ton going on in this little place and it would be easier to relax without having to hear it all. In any event, I can’t give the spa anything less than 5 stars, because the facial was that great! I can’t wait to go back for more facial services and to try the greenstone massage, as they are the only spa in the area that offers them.

FINALLY! I moved back from Chicago and have had the most horrible time trying to find a decent place to get my brows done. I HAVEFOUNDIT. The place is small and unassuming, but everyone in here was nice as can be. There was plenty of parking, and smiling faces inside. They took me right away. They told me I would have to wait like 10 minutes, but it was only 2. Perfect! The very sweet woman who did my brows mentioned she brought threading to Manchester(let’s be honest– she brought it to all of NH) about 7 – 8 years ago. She not only fixed the mess the last woman(who thought by simply trimming my brows the job was done– after she ripped the skin off with hot wax) did, but she made them pretty again! I didn’t think it was possible. Finish that up with a small facial massage– and I am sold! I will definitely be coming back here.

I love love love this place. I have very curly hair(ie. Shirley Temple ringlets) and I am very picky as to who I have cut it. Robin does a fantastic job and is very pleasant. Since my first haircut with them, this salon has become my go-to place for beauty needs. I’ts situated in a renovated cape home with 3 levels. The main area is wheelchair accessible. I’ve had a mani-pedi and eyebrow threading done here. The pedi room is in the basement and it was very nice. The manicure room is off of the waiting room on the main level, where they have 4 stations. The manicure is definitely worth the price. The threading, as Nina said, is awesome. I only schedule my haircuts on Thu-Fri-Sat so that I can get my brows threaded as well. The woman is very sweet and does a great job. All in all, an awesome place.

I can’t believe no one has written a review about this place yet. This is probably the only place in all of Manchester and its surrounding cities without going into MA where you can get your eyebrows threaded. Yes, threaded. Ever heard of it? It is great. It’s the only way I do my eyebrows. And instead of wax, they pull hairs out with a piece of thread. Yes, you read right, and it is amazing. Seriously. One end of the thread in the person’s mouth, the other end twisted a zillion times. Rips the hair out in straight lines. And they can even talk while they’re doing it. Honestly. Awesome. And it lasts for a long time. I could go months without an appointment to clean things up. Word. Wikipedia has a short article stub about it if you’re interested: Anyhow, imagine my horror when I moved to Manchester and realized that no one even knew what threading meant! Oh, no! That meant I actually had to get my eyebrows waxed, and my previously threaded brows furrowed in unhappiness. But one day, the sun shone down on a sign on S. Willow Street that boasted«THREADING! TRYIT!» I nearly pooped my pants in excitement. I couldn’t wait to ditch the waxers and get my eyebrows properly threaded. Whoo! The nice Asian lady that does this only works Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. She threads and does hair and she is so nice and friendly and will hook you up with whatever shape eyebrow you want. And she’s thorough and clips and tweezes until your eyebrows are of utmost perfection. The price is higher than I’m used to($ 15 without tip), but hey, she’s the ONLY one that does it in this area! I guess she has the upperhand in the supply-and-demand curve. Speaking of which, I better make an appointment before summer session starts again… The last time I had my eyebrows done was during spring break. So, that was about 2 months ago. And my eyebrows are still relatively clean, but I don’t know when I’ll have time to do them next. The first time I went, she offered me a 20% discount on my next hair appointment. Told you, she’s awesome, and I might take her up on that offer. Then, I can come back and also review the hairstylists. Seriously. Threading. It’s the ONLY way to go. EDIT: I read a sign today that they had in their waiting room saying they take all their hair clippings and send it away to make«hair mats» which soak up oil from animals that were unfortunately stuck in oil spills and would otherwise probably die. Get your hair done and save the sea otters! YAY!
