I had a slice of pepperoni. The crust was doughy and it was kinda undercooked. Service was ok but I was the only person there.

Cardboard crust, lacking cheese and flavorless sauce. Also ordered 8 wings buffalo style that tasted like they were microwaved instead of fried. I’ve eaten here for lunch before and ordered just a slice and have enjoyed it so maybe they were having an off night, On a positive note, they have great super friendly service.

Bullet point review: –Two slices for $ 3.80 not a bad deal –Thin slice pizza isn’t my preferred style –Not greasy, chewy crush –No anchovies :( –Drink selection is lacking –24 hour delivery is fantastic –Well air conditioned –Lots of windows –Style fits a pizza place –Old time-y black and white photos –Crazy art piece in the back, reminds me of Studio Ghibili/Dr. Seuss –Staff in good spirits

Since all of the reviews and ratings seem to be the same in Manchester for non-chain restaurant pizza I had to just pick one and roll the dice. I ordered the meatball calzone and it was fairly good but nothing to write home about. The service was friendly and everything was freshly made. Plan to wait about 15 minutes for your order. The place is a bit rundown and has old 1980’s feel to it but overall it wasn’t a bad quick bite to eat.

Huge pizzas make this actually quite a value choice, and its DELICIOUS. They know how to make a great, well-cooked pizza and they do it well. Some of the best pizza I’ve ever eaten — which I know is disconcerting as this is a small franchise-y type place, and we like to think the best pizza comes from Mom-and-Pop shops(often it does)… but its true, this place pumps out consistently delicious food. Highly recommend. Also they do deliver(this may be recent).

Sal’s produces a consistently solid product that is tasty and flavorful. The slice are the equivalent of two slices and is reasonably prices. They have a wide variety of upscale pies and is on par of what a traditional pizza parlor should be. Sometimes you get too much«pizza bone» at the end and I like my pies to have toppings close to the edge of the pizza. It’s nice that the don’t skimp out on the toppings as well. I wish it was open late night and they had a location downtown. This place would be a welcome change from all the other late night eateries downtown.

Pizza is tough. Everyone has a different preference for sauce sweetness, crust thickness, toppings. Sal’s seems to get it right. I love the thin crust, but larger outer crust(my favorite part). The cheese is just enough and they can do anythign for special order. Soem pizza places taste like it came out of the freezer. Everything tastes fresh! They know what they’re doing in the kitchen and the front of the house is organized and efficient. It’s our go-to for Friday night take out.

Looking for a good slice of pizza, enormous portions and a teeny tiny price tag? Sal’s is it! It’s not the *best* pizza I’ve ever had, but it’s definitely far from the worst. It’s a good quality, satisfying slice. My one complaint is that the sauce on my pizza seemed to have been prepared by someone heavy-handed with the herbs(how’s your Oregano? Sheesh!), but it was great otherwise. The texture of the pizza was perfect; not too thin, not too thick. The crust was puffy, crusty on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. Delish! I was able to snag a coupon online for a large, 19″ pizza, 10 buffalo wings, garlic bread and 2 liter soda for $ 19.99 — nothing to scoff at! The pizza was gargantuan, and the wings followed suit. No skimping on portions here! Garlic bread was phenomenal, too. This fed my family of 5AND we’ve got leftovers, so that’s definitely saying something. All in all, Sal’s is the best bang for your buck in the area. Try ‘em out!

Sal’s, the ubiquitous pizzeria found all over Southern New Hampshire makes a fairly good pizza. They cook their pizzas on the old-fashioned if updated pizza ovens which is key for real New England-style pizza. The sauce is good although it is a bit too sweet. The dough, and the amount of it used, is the issue. The proportion of dough to sauce and cheese is all wrong. After a few bites you end up with mouthful after mouthful of pure dough. Lots of reviewers have commented on the economy of Sal’s pizza; but, if you are getting all dough where’s the economy? Since their stores are franchised, the quality of service is going to vary from shop to shop. They are heavy-handed with the gourmet pizza varieties. This is also an issue for me as good pizza need not have fourteen toppings to be good. They do serve up tasty pizza; however, in Manchester, at the Alley Cat Pizzeria you will get far superior food.

Looking for a great slice of pizza at a good value amidst the bevy of Manchester choices? You’ve got it at Sal’s. I had Sal’s pizza served at school growing up in the Londonderry School District, and I’ve visited the Derry, NH location several times as well, but this branch is certainly par for the course with my past experiences. Service is a little on the slow side, and this is accentuated during lunch hours, but it’s worth it. On my last visit, I got a 19″ pizza Tomato Garlic pizza with Pepperoni to split between 3 coworkers, as well as a few extra Sal’s Veggie slices. The TG w/P slices I ate had a slighly doughy crust that was cooked just enough along with a sweet tomato sauce base. I do wish there had been just a little more pepperoni though. The veggie pizza had a TON of toppings, and my coworker said it was the best Veggie slice he’s had in Manchester. But based on that, I’ll continue to be a regular lunch and dinner patron at Sal’s for sure.

Sal’s is a great value, with a good variety of pizzas. The crust is the chewy variety–«NY Style» of «Boston Style». They feature a 19″, # pound Cheese pizza for $ 9.99! Sal’s also has slices available anytime. I like the Buffalo Chicken slices and the meat lover slices. PORTIONBEWARE: These slices are HUGE. They are really ¼ of a 19″ pie, so one Sal’s slice is equal to two large slices anywhere else. Soft drinks are available in plastic bottles, and there are also some wings, sandwiches, and desserts available. As you’d expect though, the pizza is the star here. This place is casual for a casual place… so don’t expect much in the way of atmosphere. Great for kids, too.

I have eaten at Sal’s in Manchester, NH on many occasions. Most recently within the past 2 weeks. I have eaten at other Sal’s as well, they weren’t as good — quality wise. My review: Number 1, it’s pizza, there’s only so much you can do with it, the difference in my opinion is the quality of the preparation. The staff at Sal’s in Manchester, NH were willing to put any topping they had on a pizza, any type of cheese and they have multiple types of sauces. The crust is usually very flavorful and tastes very fresh and their individual slices are huge! Though I would rather buy a large and take home the leftovers for breakfast. When I look at the price, the quality and the nice people that work there — I really don’t have any negatives, I highly recommend Sal’s Manchester. Wait, I take that back: Negative: They need to be open 24⁄7 for all my pizza consumption needs. ;) PS. I agree with Chad P. that the BBQ Chicken is AMAZING! My fav: pomodoro(sp?) sauce fresh basil fresh mozzarella cheese grilled chicken little bit of garlic

I like Sal’s. It’s not exceptional and I prefer Alley Cat, but all-around I find it to be a pretty solid choice. Huge slices, crust is bread-like yet still good, and I like the cheese. You also can’t beat the price. No delivery.

The positives… Sal’s is clean, the pizzas are huge and reasonably priced. The crust is wonderful. I dare you to find a better lunch deal than their slice! They have a good variety of pizzas and I love their spinach, tomato and feta, even if it is a bit salty. The negatives: Not too many. They seem to close fairly early for a restaurant on South Willow Street, and they are just a little too far from my house to visit regularly. Living in the north end of town, I usually frequent Alley Cat because I love it just a little bit more and who wants to drive an extra 10 minutes each way if you don’t have to? If you’re shopping on South Willow Street and need a quick lunch or dinner, give Sal’s a try. You won’t be able to resist buying one of the gigantic cupcakes near the register… it’s humanly impossible.

Best crust! Best sauce! Best pizza! I am originally from Mass… and have become very spoiled with great pizza being everywhere. Not so abundant in NH; I have to say it’s a surprise. Sal’s pizza is awesome. Only one negative: They don’t deliver… and because most of their pizza is made fresh, it takes a while; but trust me, IT’S WORTHTHEWAIT !!!
